This is such good marketing. This will be the first ever coffee machine that I'm gonna buy and I was a little bit nervous because I didn't exactly know how to properly use it. This video is a great, simple and easy way to show us how it works. Thanks guys!
Hi there, thanks for your comment! We're glad to hear that you find this video helpful. Are you going for the Series 1200 or 2200? Either way: enjoy your new espresso machine! And don't hesitate to let us know in case you have any questions about it in the future. :)
Just got mine set up and tried it this morning. It REALLY makes a truly delicious cup of coffee! I'd usually take a tumbler of coffee to carry to work. (12 oz). Using the '2' Cups of Coffee on the largest quantity is perfect. Everything else, so far, is great!
Today i bought this machine and used an local coffee of our neighborhood! Philps equals Quality and Confidence, And that cases good coffees :) Also when coffee will be grinds, its smells amazing :) (I was using 6 Number Grinds, its looks like suits to me.) Price was reasonable for our economy.
Had no idea that Philips had this kind of coffee maker. I just bought a Smarter coffee maker and the Nespresso Lattissima. This one seems better because you can use whole beans and not be restricted to buying only capsules.
Hi Mohamed, thanks for your message. If you'd like to keep using it, it's recommended to leave it in. If you would like to deactivate it however, that's possible as well! Have a look at the following instructions in that case: to.philips/60583pTz0 We hope this helps!
have this coffee machine more than 1 year and absolutely love it . we drink just espresso so its perfekt for price and what it can do . until now there wasnt any sign it need calc clean with i was stressed how it cant do that but i guess filter work perfektly even though we have hardest water type. my older one just 50 eur cheaper and manual broke because water from Delon...... and need to say Philips have really perfect one . someone said it will show for cal/clean after maybe 5th or 6th filter change.
Can you tell me what kind of coffe can I put in the preground department? Is it strictly grinded espresso or I can fill the department with pregrinded black coffe ( turskih for example )?
Hi Oliver, thanks for reaching out! You can fill the pre-ground compartment with a pre-ground coffee of your choice. 😉 If you have any other questions, feel free to get in touch via Facebook or X.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. While the LatteGo does not come with a removable bean hopper, the lid of the bean hopper can be removed. This way, you can clean the bean compartment. We hope this helps, but do let us know if there are any further questions.
Good coffee machine. Do one needs to empty the water container every evening ore before a longer period (holiday) not using to prevent buildup off bacteria? Or does the Aquaclean container has to be kept wet?
Hi, great to hear that you're satisfied with your machine! The Aqua clean filter should take care of the cleaning for you. The only reason to clean it in between, is whenever you feel like it could use an extra rinse!
Hello, thank you for reaching out. We are happy to assist you with your query. To make a long black with your Series 1200 espresso machine, you need to follow these steps: 1. Fill the water tank with fresh water and insert it into the machine. 2. Turn on the machine and wait for it to heat up. 3. Place a cup under the coffee spout and press the coffee button once. The machine will dispense a single shot of espresso. 4. Fill a kettle with water and bring it to a boil. 5. Pour hot water over the espresso in your cup until you reach the desired strength and volume of your long black. We hope this helps you enjoy your coffee. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Have a nice day!
Today I bought this machine everything is self explanatory and working great. Just need to practice with the milk frother. Its over flows the mug without making it piping hot and I filled ⅓ of the cup. Is this normal or is everyone using a barista milk froth jug?
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. This is something that we would like to take a closer look at, but will require some additional information. We helpen graag! Groetjes, Albert.

Hi, thanks for your comment. To achieve the perfect ristretto with your 1200 or 2200 Series Automatic Coffee Machine, it’s recommended to adjust the grinder to a fine setting for a strong espresso base. Begin by filling the bean hopper with espresso beans, ideally a dark roast for a more intense flavor. For the 1200 series, you can adjust the drink volume to the lowest setting for a concentrated ristretto. On the 2200 series, use the 'My Coffee Choice' feature to set the aroma strength to the highest level and adjust the coffee quantity to a small cup size. Remember, ristretto is typically served in a small 15-20ml volume, which is about half of a standard espresso. For detailed instructions, please refer to the user manual or the Philips support website. Enjoy your rich and full-bodied ristretto!
Hi, just got this machine and I couldn’t find the Aquaclean filter. Should it be included in the box or do I have to purchase it separately? I’m from France. Thank you!
@@Philips Thanks for your prompt reply! I apologize I wasn’t clear enough in my previous message. What I meant is that when your purchase the machine, is the filter included in the accessories just like the milk frother? Because in that case, I’ll return to the vendor and ask them to give me the filter since mine is missing in the box. I’m trying to determine if it was an oversight from the vendor or not 🙂 If the filter was to be purchased separately in the first place, then I’ll order one. Thank you so much for your assistance!
Thanks for clarifying for us. Could you share your country of residence? That way we can have a look and get you in contact with the right team to check it for you!
Hi Ahmed, thanks for your comment. We understand that you’d like to purchase the LatteGo milk container for your 1200 or 2200 Series Automatic Coffee Machine. Hi there, Jose. Thanks for your question here. It is normal that a bit of water is released from the machine after the coffee is served. However, this should not be a big amount. If it is, please contact us on Facebook (@Philips) or Twitter (PhilipsCare), so we can assist you properly. Cheers!
I have the 2200 for close to a year now. My first espresso always comes out watery and I usually toss it out. After that, it's fine. Is there anything I can do to fix that? I use Lavazza Aroma beans.
Im Using an Espresso Blend which is Colombia/El Salador blend and +%30 Robusta (to be boost the aroma of espresso, as our barista told) Try to be add your Beans an little bit of Robusta comblnation. On Machine, try lower water settings.
Hi, i have Philips 1200 espresso machine, i set it at finest grinder settings, but even after 3 months of using and few hundred shots, the water flows too fast, only 6 seconds from the time it starts coming out untill it stops. I was reading it should be about 20 seconds. Even if i use max amount of coffee beans (3/3), its still only 6 seconds. Is that normal, or how do i fix it?

Is the water hardness still accurate if i left the swab unter the tap water for 5 to 10 seconds @Philips? I got all excited and skipped that part of the manual accidently ;) .. Mine is 4 so i was abit suprised.
We appreciate your enthusiasm in using our water hardness testing strip. According to the general guidelines, it's recommended to dip the testing strip in the water for just 1 second, then remove it, gently shake off any excess water, lay it on a flat surface, and read the results after one minute. If the swab was left under the tap water for 5 to 10 seconds, it's possible that this deviation from the recommended procedure may have affected the accuracy of the reading. We would advise performing the test again, adhering to the 1-second dip guideline to ensure an accurate reading of the water hardness.
Dear philips support. I want to adjust and change the degree of coffee grinder. When can I do this function? In your vidio shows when the machine turns on and the grinder works at a time she changes the coffee grinder but I think it can be damaged. Can I adjust it when the coffee machine turns off ??
Hi Newsha, thanks for your comment. To adjust the grinder settings of your Philips espresso machine, you can follow these steps: 1) Open the lid of the bean container. 2) First place the adjustment key on the grinder adjustment knob, then press down the grind setting knob and turn it to the left or right. If there is an adjustment knob, no extra tool is needed, you can press it down and turn it left or right. 3) Turning it a notch left or right, adjusts the setting. There will be either dots or numbers to indicate the grind setting. A smaller dot/number equals to a smaller particle size. 4) Try brewing two to three cups of coffee to taste the difference. The sensor will make the adjustments to the amount of time the grinder spins to make sure that the correct amount of coffee is being ground and as a result you will have an optimal shot of espresso. We hope this helps! Feel free to send us a message on one of our Philips Home Living pages (Twitter or Facebook) if you have other questions.
@@Philips thanks but I don’t underestand your help about you said : (First place the adjustment key on the grinder adjustment knob). It means that I should first turns the coffee machine on then press espresso key and while the machine works, adjust the degree of grinder? or it’s not important to turns it on for adjustment ?!
Hi again! The grinder setting of your Espresso machine can be adjusted by using the grind setting knob inside the bean container. In some machines you will need to use the back of the handle of the pre-ground scoop as an adjustment key. It is the same if you complete this process while the machine is on or off. We hope this helps!
What’s the problem if a press the aroma button for 3 seconds to have pre ground coffee and it never lights up the ground icon. It just keeps going to the whole bean lights.

@@Philips hey so I called the number. First time I was on hold for 20 minutes so I had to hang up and call back. Called back and finally got someone on the phone. The lady who answered had a bunch of talking in the background and after I explained everything, she said she had to put me on a hold, I said okay, then I was switched to a voice prompt that told me to call the number I was on the phone with and hung up on me. Hello, thanks for reaching out. We are sorry to hear your coffee machine doesn't seem to work properly. Can you please share your model number with us? You can find it imprinted inside the service door. This way we can provide specific advice. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing the model number, Christin. There may be different reasons why coffee is not coming out properly. Please try the following tips: 1. The brew group may need to be cleaned or lubricated (check pages 12-14 of user manual: to.philips/6050M5o92). 2. The issue may occur if you have changed to another type of coffee beans or haven't used the machine for a long time. Please brew 5 cups of coffee to allow the machine to complete its self-adjustment procedure. 3. The pre-ground coffee compartment may be clogged. Switch off the machine and remove the brew group. Open the lid of the preground coffee compartment and insert the spoon handle into it. Move the handle up and down until the clogged ground coffee falls down. Please let us know if this solves the issue!
Dear Philips, I would like to ask something. I have series 2200. I put my pre ground coffee in machine. Then select the pre ground option. But the machine gives me just water like there is no coffee inside. Why is it happening?

Hello. I've bought today Philips Series 1200 and I really like the taste of cofee it makes but the rings in the waste basket aren't tight enough as I guess they should be. They are wet and formless. I didn't change any grinder settings (they are default). Neither I made any manipulations inside. Should I take any actions? Is it normal?

I received the machine minutes ago. In first start some cold water came from coffee part. Nothing came from the steam side. In Aquaclean, only cold and very dirty water came from the all outlets. I am confused now. Watching other videos. Isn't it a big deviation what I experience and what here is told?
Hi there, thanks for reaching out to us. It's strange to hear some dirty water came from the outlet. Did you already try making some coffee? Does that work? Hope to hear from you.
I recorded the dark water coming from the outlet. We aquacleaned it for 3-4 times. Then it turned to relatively clean looking fluid. This movie above also says that there would be ot water coming from steam stout. But it didn't. We drank coffee but not sure this machine is functioning properly or cleanly. Should we put the Aqua clean filter mounted during the operations?@@Philips

I just received my EP1220/04 back from a repair center (it's less than a year old) and was instructed to prime it according to instruction manual. When I did not see anything in instruction manual for "priming" I followed a RUclips video. The RUclips video shows the whole water tank being emptied out during this "priming" but mine barely shot any water out. Also, the blue light indicator for the Aqua Filter is on and I have no filter in it. I am presently out of them right now. Typically, that blue light is only on when there's a filter in water tank. Is all of this okay? I have to say that while our machine was at repair center we went back to making French press. It's delicious and so much easier than going through all of this for the sake of having an individual cup of coffee at any given moment.

No, for making Coffee, you need the water to be cooked, within this machine, to make a certain pressure, so the machine can pump it thru its pipes, to the coffee cup. If you want to have a colder coffee, you need to add cold water afterwards, and so the taste will change too. So, be aware if you want colder coffee, you make the coffee more strong, and so you can add cold water more easier.

Hi, John. We are sorry to hear that our product doesn`t met you expectations. Sadly, your previous machine is from a different brand and the settings could be slighty different. In order to have a stronger coffe you have to check the coffe grinder gear. On that gear there are a few levels that can be selected in order to set the coffee grinder manually. If you choose a low level grinding (1, 2 or 3 for example), you will have a stronger coffee. But if you set the grinder to the max level (i.e. 12), your coffee should be light. Hi George, thanks for your comment. We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this issue with the LatteGo. One of the reasons why no water is being drawn from the water tank could be because there is trapped air blocking the water supply. You can follow the steps below to solve the issue: 1. Switch OFF your machine 2. Empty the water tank and remove the AquaClean filter (or any other water filter your machine is using) 3. Fill the water tank with water and place it back in position 4. Switch the machine back ON. When the machine is heated up, select hot water and dispense 2-3 cups of hot water If you use an AquaClean water filter, follow these extra steps to make sure the filter is prepared and correct installed for use: 1. Shake the AquaClean water filter for 5 seconds 2. Hold the filter upside down in a container/bowl with water until no more air bubbles come out 3. Place back the filter into the water tank and fill the water tank with water 4. Restart the machine and switch it off and back on 5. Select hot water and dispense 2-3 cups of hot water. If the issue still persists, we kindly advise you to contact our customer service through one of our Social Media channels, or reach out via the support page on our Philips website. That way we’ll be able to assist you further.
Hi Danette, thank you for reaching out. :) Are you following the manual instruction for the descaling procedure? Thanks for your query, Panda, and congrats on your new coffee machine! ☕ We would love to assist you on this. Could you please let us know the model number of your machine, so we could find suitable solutions to your concern? :)
@@Philips I have the 2200 series EP2220 . Also when I did the strip test for water harshness the strip remained as is ( I used reverse osmosis filtered water). So I just decided to set water harshness to 1.
Thanks for letting us know. If this is the first time using your espresso machine, it is normal that the first brewed coffees are watery as the system is still adjusting. Try to brew a few more cups of coffee in order to optimize the extraction of the coffee with the compactness of the ground coffee. It can also be the case the brew group is dirty. We recommend rinsing the brew group weekly as a dirty brew group filter can cause a bad water flow and affects the coffee taste. To clean it, follow the steps below: -Switch OFF the machine and wait until it is completely off and does not make any more noises (this takes about 15-20 seconds) -Open the service door and remove the brew group by pressing the “PUSH” button to the right side, hold it, and pull it towards you -Rinse the brew group thoroughly with lukewarm water and let it air-dry before placing it back. For more information, you can check the following link here: to.philips/6053G1dW9. Hope this helps. :)
Thank you for doing the harshness test. Next up, you switch off the machine, tap and hold the aroma strength icon until all lights in the icon go on. Then, tap the aroma strength icon 1, 2, 3 or 4 times. The number of lights that are on should be the same as the number of red squares on the test strip. When there are no red squares on the test strip (so all squares are green) please select 1 light. When you have set the correct water hardness, press the start/stop button. Finally, press the on/off icon to switch on the machine. Let us know if this has been useful. :)
Got mine yesterday. Followed the setup steps in the user manual. But when the machine is heated up and in standby mode, when I select espresso, it cycles through the 4 buttons (espresso, coffee, hot water steam) just like when the machine is first starting up. I don't think it should do that when it's already heated up and ready to go. Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?
Hi Pamela, thanks for leaving your comment. We are sorry to hear you’re having troubles with the setup. Could you share the model number of your machine with us? If possible, you can also send us a message via one of our Social Media channels. That way we’ll be able to assist you further.
Dear Philips support, is there an option to only heat the milk without frothering it ? And also can you explain the difference between the espresso brewing and the coffee brewing?
Hello Emanuel, thanks for your question. Espresso is brewed with more pressurized water that shoots through the ground coffee beans in under 30 seconds. This is different from making coffee, which relies on the slow filtering of hot water through the grounds. For more detailed information, you can visit this link: to.philips/6052KYKUM. In addition, the EP3241 is not designed to warm milk. We hope this answers your question. Feel free to get back to us if you need further advice. Thank you.

Hi i have a Philips 2220/10. I have a problem when i choose Coffee in pre-ground coffee mode. Pre-ground normally works for espresso choice. But It just gives water in coffee choice mode. How can i fix this problem?
Thanks for taking the time to reach out. It's too bad that your coffee has been a bit watery, and we would like to look into this a bit more. Watery coffee is usually the result of the brew group being dirty or needing to be lubricated. You can clean the brew group by removing it from the machine, rinsing it under the tap, and then letting it dry. We hope this helps out, but do let us know if we can assist with anything else. :)

what would be the recommended setting to make ristretto?

In your vidio shows when the machine turns on and the grinder works at a time she changes the coffee grinder but I think it can be damaged. Can I adjust it when the coffee machine turns off ??
Hi Newsha, thanks for your comment. To adjust the grinder settings of your Philips espresso machine, you can follow these steps:
1) Open the lid of the bean container.

@@Philips Ep 1220/00
Thanks for sharing the model number, Christin. There may be different reasons why coffee is not coming out properly. Please try the following tips:
Move the
handle up and down until the clogged ground coffee falls down.
Please let us know if this solves the issue!
Hello Christin, we just wanted to check if you still needed any help? Feel free to reply ☺️
Dear Philips, I would like to ask something. I have series 2200. I put my pre ground coffee in machine. Then select the pre ground option. But the machine gives me just water like there is no coffee inside. Why is it happening?

It's delicious and so much easier than going through all of this for the sake of having an individual cup of coffee at any given moment.

how does the steamer perform? does it really sweeten the milk?
is it possible to control the water temperature on 2200?
Hi there. Thanks for your question. You can adjust the coffee temperature to your own preference. Hopefully this answers your question.

@philips i need help, in the first step the hot water didnt come out
Hi George, thanks for your comment. We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this issue with the LatteGo.
One of the reasons why no water is being drawn from the water tank could be because there is trapped air blocking the water supply. You can follow the steps below to solve the issue:
1. Switch OFF your machine
2. Empty the water tank and remove the AquaClean filter (or any other water filter your machine is using)
3. Fill the water tank with water and place it back in position
4. Switch the machine back ON. When the machine is heated up, select hot water and dispense 2-3 cups of hot water
If you use an AquaClean water filter, follow these extra steps to make sure the filter is prepared and correct installed for use:
1. Shake the AquaClean water filter for 5 seconds
2. Hold the filter upside down in a container/bowl with water until no more air bubbles come out
3. Place back the filter into the water tank and fill the water tank with water
4. Restart the machine and switch it off and back on
5. Select hot water and dispense 2-3 cups of hot water.
If the issue still persists, we kindly advise you to contact our customer service through one of our Social Media channels, or reach out via the support page on our Philips website. That way we’ll be able to assist you further.

To clean it, follow the steps below:
-Switch OFF the machine and wait until it is completely off and does not make any more noises (this takes about 15-20 seconds)
-Open the service door and remove the brew group by pressing the “PUSH” button to the right side, hold it, and pull it towards you
-Rinse the brew group thoroughly with lukewarm water and let it air-dry before placing it back.
For more information, you can check the following link here: to.philips/6053G1dW9.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out. It's too bad that your coffee has been a bit watery, and we would like to look into this a bit more. I have one and it makes great tasting Espresso. They cut shots to reduce the video time.
Is there any way i can change the time interval in which the machine turns itself off? Happens kind of often i think.
Hi there, Kalas. Thanks for your question here. We took a look at our user manual (to.philips/6054GZxbr). However, we could not find any information regarding the time interval for the machine to switch off. However, if you are having issues with the appliance, don't hesitate to contact us directly with Twitter (@PhilipsCare) or Facebook (@Philips). This way, we can assist you better. For now, we wish you a pleasant day.
My manual says to switch off the machine. Press and hold Calc/Clean icon until lights go on. Tap aroma strength icon to select stand by time 15, 30, 60 or 180 minutes (respectively the number of lights). Save settings by pressing the start/stop button. Machine switches off. You should find this info on page 10 under "Adjusting the stand-by time". Haven't tried it myself yet. Just got the machine today.
@@Philips Yeah you didn't look at the manual, but thanks!
@@chronoworks You are my hero! My own manual is in languages i don't understand (sales in Europe can be a bit*ch sometimes). So thank's a lot!
@@kalas-kurt Glad I could help. Hope it works...
My machine did not perform the initial rinse cycle as illustrated in the video.
Hi, thanks for your message. We'r sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the rinsing process. What ezactly went wrong? I'd like to share the right steps and have a look into it.
@@Philips it simply didn't perform that rinse upon first start, I was able to continue the setup, which included the secondary rinse was the filter was in place
