indeed a genuine old one would have fewer screws; they were relatively super-expensive so only when necessary (like at depth/pressure) you'd have several.
I would have liked to clean and replace all the internals, springs, seals etc but left the outside old and rusted, had some great color, maybe just wiped it down good to remove all the loose stuff. That was a great restoration but I really dig how good it looked before the restoration.
Yeah I have never understood the "lets make this look new an shiny" part from restoring. Some ageing looks good on stuff. I would have done the same as you.
Awesome work and great footage. I use steel/brass wire wheel when it comes to polish/cleaning metals. And if you use brass wire wheel on brass with a polishing compound you get pretty good shine and it cleans polishes treads and hard to reach places at the same time.
I was just wondering a lot of the things you restore look like they've been deliberately rusted if so what chemical or spray do you use to make it rust like that

Very unusual lighter. Don't know about its age but the design appears to be art deco. It is definitely well built.
So many screws, it looks like an old submarine miniature.
It's a new lighter you can buy them online for $15 the exact same kind he probably put it in a bucket of water and left it there for a couple of weeks
I guess someone whom makes saxphones built that lighter.
