It's been so long that I forgot Marss only wears pajama pants
Marss is a very interesting character. He looks and sounds nonchalant, seems like he doesnt care all that much about anything, comes to tournaments in pajamas and proceeds to mow through every single top player in the world.

@@jilektx5 marss is top 2 on orion rankings cause of his combined performance throughout ultimate. Its not a fluke, he plays like the 2nd best in the world, and 2nd on orion rankings is much more impressive then 2nd on pgr.

I really appreciate the extra commentary/interview at the end of the vid. It feels more complete than the vids that just end after the last stock's taken (sometimes straightup cutting off the commentators.)

I feel like ned kept overstaying on squirtle, and couldn't get a hit while mars was already in the 100s
@@zarathoucles actually I kinda felt it was the opposite. Yeah his damage output was smaller and kill power was worse but overall I felt his squirtle did better because squirtle is harder to hit. This meant squirtle could just constantly get little chip damage which adds up a lot. And since ZSS has killing combos, but not necessarily combos that deal a ton of damage, many times squirtle can out damage her with his combos. Now if you meant that he went squirtle when he was high percent and just couldn’t get a kill, which rereading the comment makes me think that’s what you said, then yeah I agree with that to a solid degree
@@btu1734 definitely, his squirtle was on point to get her up, but he kept sticking to him even when they both reached over 100 percent, probably would have been much different with a switch to charizard
@@zarathoucles These are pros, you saw what happened at the end when he stuck with charizard against a 130% damage zss. He got his ass handed to him because they are food for zss broken neutral.

Marss spacing is so hard to counterplay with a low range character like Pokemon Trainer. Ned was trying to smash him everytime at the second game that turns up to Marss spacing and Side B everytime to put some damage and finish the job in a high percent. Very well done! Nice set!
Marsss will give away stocks to crush his opponent. He doesn’t wanna play the long game. He denies the lame out meta. And unlike Palutena, Joker and Pikachu, ZSS has a high skill floor in order to do anything with her even casually. This is why I consider him the greatest player in Ultimate.

Yup, instead of switching to a "more powerful" character, Marss managed to prove that ZSS is a fully viable competitive character

Ned played on point this tournament and had many highlight plays during his run including one of the best parry punishes over ever seen against esam. But marss proves once again why he’s still a top 5 player in the world.

I need some tips cause I'm struggling online against Link players, and also Mario player.
Link : I get overwhelmed by projectiles
Mario : I get caught in all his freaking up air combo. Also struggling to deal with the fireball, his kinda main tool to approach.
With mario u gotta keep him out with nair zair and ftilt and dont jump too predictably or else he'll run in with up air. With link u gotta use ur movement to get around boomerang, bomb isnt that good against zss but u gotta recognize what they do After throwing out a projectile

It’s because it’s hard for zss to hit squirtle. It’s actually better to not switch in the matchup sometimes

PS2 is so awkward. All this stuff that would have killed if the stage wasn't so wide. Not to mention the stage frequently blocks the actions of players at ledge and below the stage.
I'm so glad I happen to barely see this stage in tournaments.
