I think running is a better alternative of exercise than jumping. And also the floor is made up of concrete, It might just damage the animal over the period of multiple instances performed frequently (or not?) but despite that I think it's not bad if they do it weekly than regularly.

Your suggestion is good too,for real. We can hang the meet as shown in the video and stand on top of room and run, given that enclosure and roof are long horizontal stretched walkway (and roof have horizontal line of emptiness to run with meat)
Or tie a piece of meet on stick and tie it to tiger above his face as so that is unreachable.
MegaSterick But ur suggestion wont work with the meat tied to you because remember it is high and it has slow reaction when moving so the tiger will not be exercised because it will get the food easily.

King of the forest, like it my fevarite National pet of India.
At the beginning I thought it is a torture for the animal to lwave the meat for him hanged uo there. But later, I thought it is a good thing for him in order to keep him in shape and able to do this jump as long as he is in cage. These animals are not made to stay in cages.

A captive tiger doesn't make enough exercise. Then, isn't smart to force the animal to jump at the limit. I hope the animal caretaker be making that just that time, just to show how high a tiger can jump.

I don't think zoo did anything wrong in making earn the food. Tigers are fierce animals if we give the food for just being in the zoo then they lose their strength and become fat. If we leave them back to forest they should still be able to hunt. The jump that tiger did is very very normal to it. I appreciate the zoo for letting the tiger should be fit and maintaining it's hunting capabilities in some way.

they r not pets.. and wild animals dont play with pets.. someone live running and getting far from them is a game and fun for them.. just try running infront of them.. they will chase you and hunt you down even if they r not hungry.. except in the case of excess eating.. when they do so it makes them lazy.. so inshort they play with something which they can hunt down and eat.. and this behaviour was like jumping and hunting down his target and then enjoy

This is actually good for them in a way, the tiger gets activity and improves his final pounce towards his prey. So if he is released he will not completely loose his hunting skills, and it's not good for them to be just given food otherwise they will be dependent and die
