    I suffer with Tinnitus, I bought the Bose as I can then have music, podcasts, books, into my ears without the pain of wearing AirPods all day! They are so comfortable and light, I hardly know they’re there. Over the ear are not an option as I wear glasses and find them a nuisance. I know they’re eye watering expensive, but for me worth every penny!

      I have Meniers disease. I have severe tinnitus and loss of hearing in one ear and have to wear an over the-ear hearing aid (signia).
      I miss listening to music on earphones/headphones.
      The Bose open ear buds are light and comfortable, but the phone call quality is very poor. Also not helping with the hearing aid.
      The search for a good headphone which will work with the hearing aid continues. 😢
      Will bone conducting headphones help? Any tips?

    I bought mine a couple days ago. They aren’t meant for loud environments. They are meant for areas where you want to listen to music but hear the environment around you. I love them. I got to the stores or for walks and I can hear good sound quality of music but hear people around me. I have the Bose Ultra Quiet Comfort 2 and I wear them solely for the gym because I want to be immersed in my own world when I’m lifting and working out.

    OK I'm going to challenge what you're saying because I really like them and "hears" why. They are super lightweight, compact and sound great. As far as the price if I'm able to enjoy them without what I'm about to describe, they're worth it to me. I own the Quiet Comfort II and while they sound awesome they irritate my ears after a short time wearing them. My ears end up itching and then they start weeping. This wetness eventually dries and I get crusty flaking. I know sounds weird but as I've read others have experienced the same issues with in ear earbuds as allergic reaction to the silicon ear piece. If I want the noise cancelling feature I will wear my over the ears headphones.

      I too have recently started with the same ear problem. Very unpleasant! It only takes an hour of using my AirPods Pro for it to start, rendering them impossible for me to continue with them. So I will purchase these open earbuds in hope they are a permanent solution to the problem…

      Hey, I must thank you for your comment, this is something I wasn't aware about, I didn't purchase earbuds still, and was about to make a purchase next week, taking care of health is most important, and your comment made me appreciate the genuine response of your experience, not a lot is mentioned about these issues by the reviewers they only go to the extent of the product details upon product usage but not the end user experience upon regular usage especially when it is related to health, that's why cheap experiences get peddled to the regular consumers, even while they throw their hard earned money to purchase a quality experience that they think will be offered to them in such price ranges.

    Flossy says these are his go to for open ear buds. He is the de facto reviewer as far as I am concerned. I bought these, he didn’t steer me wrong. Spelled out what to and not to expect. These things are both a game changer for comfort and sound is more than acceptable for a product that is not closed earbuds. If not, I will coin a phrase from people who really like them. “You are using them wrong”, lol. The price? Too high then don’t buy them or wait for a price drop. BTW, I will not tell you what my audiophile headphones cost that are dope.

      That's quite the condescending talk from someone who can't think for themselves. You sound like you are on a leash. Your input is useless. Allow me to assist you in your intellectual struggle.
      You start off sounding like a Flossy NPC. Dude is another human being who can't take criticism, suppresses comments, and let his little fanboys try to one-up on anyone that criticizes him. Yet...you think the world of him like he threw you a Frisbee to catch with your teeth. His opinion is that - an opinion, not a fact, let alone the law of the land.
      Let's talk about these earbuds.
      They are overpriced for what you get. Bose is just another renowned entity, arrogantly pushing their name and giving you a half-assed and mediocre product that doesn't even include an advertised feature...for $300...and it's slave-minded consumers like you that give them the green light to screw you. You sound like another clueless and simpleminded consumer defending a multi-million/billion/etc. corporation that doesn't even acknowledge your existence. As mentioned in the video, and if you elevated your poor standards and did research, there are plenty of cheaper options that *give you more for less* compared to Bose. The least they could've included was wireless charging, since this is supposed to be a *wireless* headset, and multi-point connectivity for such a premium price.
      Alas, all value is lost on a starry-eyed NPC spouting condescending hot air for his favorite content creator and corporation. I can't imagine the delusion you all suffer from if you think you ever contribute anything of value. You're probably the type that thinks that think someone has to throw all of their money at something "awesome" to look cool because this is validation for people like you.

    I think you're correct here. I wouldn't be looking to bose for open earbuds. Most people wouldn't do it either when there's a lot of open earbuds that're like half the price and also less than a quarter of it. They're just trying to see what they can get away with.

      IMO the only real competitor with a similar wearing style and audio quality (AFA I heard the are at least good) are the Huawei Freeclip, which are 150 Euro cheaper but don't feature aptX Adaptive. I am not sure if aptX Adaptive is valuable enough for most people, but for me it allows me to use these for mobile gaming and also for video watching on PC (Windows in contrast to Android or iOS doesn't have a system wide delay-audo-to-keep-in-sync-with-Windows feature).
      Comparison to Sony Linkbuds: I had those and loved them, but they sound WAY worse than the Bose IMO, have like half the battery life, a case with a low battery life (that is horribly slippy to boot), have no higher end codec and stay in ear WAY WAY less secure. IMO paying more to get the Bose instead is well worth it, regardless of codec.

I have extremely small ears and no in ear buds ever work and I tried them all. The only thing remotely ok was the Beats Powerbeats Pro. I also hate anything over ear because I cannot where a hat and sunglasses. These are the first things I have ever tried that actually work for me. So stoked. The ONLY reason the QuietComfort series is selling at all is their industry leading noise isolation. That doesn't apply here, so they have no competitive advantage.
    I have the QCII and they're lacking in every category except noise cancellation.
    I just got the Huawei Freeclip today, which is about half the price of the Bose version, but has every feature that the Bose lacks, while being a smaller unit with more codecs. There is literally no reason to get the Bose unless you're a slave to the brand.

    I get everything you’re saying but here’s another take. I’m totally blind and open earbuds are very helpful, Without them I have to take my phone out of my pocket every time I want my GPS, it's talking loud enough that it's not private and both hands are used up since I’ve got my cane. Bone conduction is nice but the sound quality just isn’t there for even casual listening, it's fine for speech from my phone and that's about it. I just got the shokz openfit air conduction buds and they’re probably the best I’ve ever had but the sound quality is still meh. I’d pay the premium for even halfway decent sound, I’m not looking for ANC and I think most people in the market for these are smart enough to know it's letting sound in.

    I got the quiet comfort last year because I’ve always like their over the ear headphones. I couldn’t stand them. First they were extremely uncomfortable. The immersive sound feature is great but I keep adjusting them to see if they can get closer to my ear canal to get more sound from them. Overall, it is not worth it. I returned my Bose. Probably going to look at a cheaper priced similarly designed product. I like that type of design and maybe I’ll discover a really good set of ear clip buds from an unknown brand.

    My Sony Linkbuds are all but dead now. The case won't hold a charge and the buds drain QUICKLY. Beyond useless at this point even though I truly loved them. If I bought them again, I would have spent the same $$$ as the Bose. After receiving some gift cards for my birthday, I splashed out $100 or so of my own cash to get the Bose. Not have a dang ear loop is the BEST. I wear glasses as well and no ear loop has even been totally comfortable and dang annoying after a few hours.

  • @BrianHartman
    @BrianHartman 6 месяцев назад

    I think Bose has a lot of balls to charge what they do, given all that you don't get.
    The very nature of open ear earbuds means you don't get ANC. Plus, these don't have wireless charging. Maybe they have good sound, but as open ear earbuds, they're not really meant for audiophiles, anyway. I really feel like companies add LDAC and other high-quality codecs to their open ear earbuds just to be able to say they have them, regardless of the value they bring.
    If you want to hear the world around you, there are a lot of earbuds that have ANC *and* transparency modes so that you can hear your environment when you need to. I think the whoel open ear earbud thing is a tech fad that will fade soon when people realize they can get more features for less money from more standard in-ear earbuds.

    • @salemdesigns65
      @salemdesigns65 6 месяцев назад +1

      @BrianHartman:
      Perhaps, but some of us have odd shaped ears. I've spent a bit of money for earbuds only to find either I've lost one of them because they just didn't fit well, or they hurt after an hour, or they didn't fit good wearing glasses, etc. I don't think this is a trend - no more a trend of earbuds itself - why should we ALL have the same experience, fit, color, price and functionality? This is the whole reason why there's 100+ types of them. If folks can only afford a pair of earbuds for $35, then OK. If you can afford $300, everyone has to be OK with that too.

    Bose, Brook Stone, Sharper Image, Apple, Sony and so on, make money off of their name. They brag that if you buy from them, you're getting your money's worth. The problem is, their stuff is over-priced. You're spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on stuff you can get for less on places like Amazon. Many cheaper competitors offer the same specs for a lot less than someone like Apple, Bose and Sony who's asking you to spend more.
    Several no name brands have been selling these clip on earbud earrings for about two years or so. Bose decided to make their own, but sell theirs for a premium price. I would rather take my chances on the no name brands they sell for one hundred dollars or less rather than spend $300 on one Bose product. No multipoint connection, no wireless recharging, no noise-cancelling and so on doesn't justify $300. Which is why I don't buy Bose. Even if I had the money, the cheaper brands may not have the same quality as Bose or Apple, but I can get more for my money for less the cost of one Bose, Apple or Sony product. But people out there, keep on buying over-priced stuff because it's their favorite brand, and it makes them look special.

    Have you thought about that they are going insane on spending when it comes to advertising and celebrity sponsorship which is driving that really high price.
