its Dec 8 2023 still thinking of you!
Yeah me too man, I always spend this day for the last 20 years listening to Darrell, may he rest in peace, and God bless soul , Dime was friggin hoot, he was one of the few musicians and rock stars that I felt that people knew without ever him
facts
Its crazy how you can miss someone you never met, at least Vinnie doesn't miss dime anymore.
I met DIme twice and he was the most genuine person I have met. He absolutely did not give off the vibe that he even knew he was a living legend that changed metal forever. He saw my CFH tattoo on my forearm last time and took a pitcure with his by mine the second time. That was the last Damageplan show ever in AZ. It was only 4 months before the world lost him.
I saw damageplan a few weeks before Dime was taken from us. I met him and he literally turned to me and asked if there was a kfc around the venue. I said yeah. He asked if I could go get him a bucket. Lol. I walked down grabbed some chicken. Came back and I ate a piece of fried chicken with Dimebag. They don’t make dudes that cool anymore.
Oh yeah.... I would definitely trade the Kardashians for Dimebag and Vinnie Paul any day, bottom line
I was sad the day Dime died but sadder when Vinnie died, just thinking what the guy went through, seeing his own brother killed in front of him, cannot imagine the pain. They were my heros and part of my youth died with them
Vinnie is dead
isnt this still got the blues? amazing regardless.
indeed it is! Dime truly had taste, plus it sounds great in this different tuning
I thought it sounded like he was doing some type of rendition of Gary Moore.. I was thinking parisienne walkways but im not sure.. Dime played metal but he had a wide range of influences crossing multiple genres when it came to playing guitar. Thats what I loved about him!
@@daniel_naaden B F#B E G#C#?
Yes and it almost sounds as bad as Gary Moore
@@jupitermoongauge4055
WTF? Dude, you must be totally clueless about guitar playing - Gary Moore was one of the greatest guitarists to ever walk the Earth and that's universally acknowledged by not only most rock fans and journalists, but by the majority of his peers. So you seriously need to show some respect and never make idiotic comments like again.
Dime was an artist, not just a guitar player. He painted moods with six strings.
word
lol..... he painted moods with 6 strings lol.
I never imagined I'd get to hear Dime play something by Gary Moore. I miss them both more than ever.
Bro this vídeo has Been around for years it is not something new
@@ernestofb591
He never said it was new. Just because you saw it before doesn’t mean everyone has.
@@Boogieplex
I've not seen it either and loved Gary Moor. But it's youtube, always some no it all who loves to shyte on a harmless comment.
What Gary Moore song?
@@LeeChops333 Still Got the Blues
The guitar is so dark that mere mortals don’t deserve to see it, only dimebag had the permission ❤️ RIP LEGEND ❤️
True metal hero to us all❤️
And I got your back on this one!!
Music isn't the same without the Abbott Brothers
I miss his guitar playing so much. He had such passion that people lack these days!
I just love listening to him to talk about how much he loves his fucking guitar
The best metal guitarist ever
The second half is something he did on stage since 1984.
But as many snob or avoid that era, its surely something " unheard live "
Glamtera was a much better band.
A don't ever forget *Diamond Darrell*
Blue Light Turning Red.
Ive heard some songs on their pre-CFH days. I must say those are quite amazing too. I dont know where the hate comes from.
how does he achieve that theramon like sound
@@grahamjarman rub the pick on your 2nd and 3rd strings.
Dimebag could just make his guitar sing like and angel or growl like a demon. There will never be a talent like him ever again. Rest In Power Dimebag..
It goes Jimi Hendrix then Tony Iommi then Randy Rhoads and then Dimebag Darrell in that order of level of guitar playing
@@thetreverpitts yeah, and legions of people like Van Halen, Malmsteen, Satriani, Vai, Oliva, Friedman, Moore, Bratta, Campbell, Vanderberg, Timmons, Macalpine, Howe, Holdsworth, Gambale, Marcello, Petrucci, Gilbert, Bettencurt, Govan, Lane and hundreds of others are able only to smoking aside?
People still say he is over rated. Hmm. Funny.
@@raypreseau2047 taste is subjective. On pure playing ability, there is no doubts in my mind he’s the greatest technical metal player to ever live.
@@aaronhiggs you are now my brother
Gary Moore, "Still got the blues" was in there, added to some fire 🔥 improv by Dime, of course! 😎🎸
Darrell’s vibrato was amazing…no one ever seems to mention it.
His might be the best ever
Dude was one of a kind, and could do it all. Blazing and accurate speed shredding, but he could also bend those strings and whammy bar and make that baby wail like no other. RIP DIMEBAG
Man, miss seeing Pantera live. ALWAYS tight as hell. Such a devastating loss to our kind of music.
To mankind
@dirtbag daryal How is that arrogant? If you're here then it's probably your kind of music, and if ya group us all up, it's our kind of music
I'm gutted I never saw Pantera. I watched Dimebag play with Damage Plan though which was amazing, Dimebag had a 5 minute section with just him on stage ripping guitar. Totally unforgettable

Coolest dude in music ? Is that a joke ?
@@jupitermoongauge4055 no
My thoughts exactly after I had met him chatted and had a drink
Dude I hung out with Darrell alot in the late 80s,have some cool stories, the best one was the melody shop in Dallas Texas where he ripped a Jackson soloist#3100 in there sound proof Booth, people in there 50s&60s walked in from the mall and surrounded the booth ... He was just like the pied piper
@@williams5945 Thanks for sharing that, you lucky 🦆! Goes to show that most humans will tend to gravitate toward a source of positive energy, and Dime was the king of broadcasting positive vibes(with or without his axe, I might add). He definitely wasn't the type to perceive the glass as half empty. Darrell was more of a "cup runneth over" kinda guy.
I have always recognized the savage blues rock parts of Gary Moore in Dime’s playing and this is so cool to finally see that proven the real deal. The dude was a sponge and blended everything in his own signature Dime style. There are very few metal guitarists that apart from their technical chops en chugging ability, can pour that much soul into their dives, bends, squeals, sustained notes and fingerpicking like Darrell could.
wow this slapped me in the face. my dad used to play this all the time, I have come to associate it with him. Him playing guitar was always a huge part of my life, ever since I was born. He was my best friend. Passed away last November. So cool to hear Dime playing that. Made me smile. R.I.P.
I swear, there's some hidden force within music. It can help one heal, inspire creativity, create wonderful memories, and so much more. I'm happy to hear that your dad started sharing this "magic" with you early on. As a picker myself, I couldn't help but shed a tear reading your comment. Glad Dime's magic made you think of Pops and put a smile on your face. That's poetry in motion. May the Abbott bros. and your father rest easy.
@@woody8577 Thanks man. Appreciate ya.
Sounds like hes doing a take on one of Gary Moore's solos. I was thinking from the song, Parisienne Walkways, but Im not sure? I love coming across unearthed videos of Dime... been gone for 20 years but seeing these videos makes it feel brand new and as if hes still alive and with us. I always wonder if he was still around would Dime be doing RUclips tutorials and playthroughs? Because a lot of the videos I come across are of him just sitting around and showing off licks and how to play solos and they were recorded before youtube even existed. He unknowingly left behind videos of himself for people to watch way after his passing. Even in death I have learned so many licks watching Dimes videos and he is still influencing people till this day. Dime and Gary are both missed dearly.
according to another comment, it's "Still Got The Blues"
agreed! I love these Dime clips, and posting them for others to see is great!
@@daniel_naaden Yea thanks for posting. I just went and listened to still got the blues. It def felt like a Gary Moore influenced solo lol. Both dudes are big influences on me personally as a guitarist and im sure thousands of other guitarists out there.
Definitely has a bit of a feel of Parisienne Walkways in there alright. Two amazing guitarists.
I thought it was "The Loner" by Gary Moore
Ripping ass players! Dime was is a master! Eternal sound. Not all musicians have this completely fluid command. Dime was very special. I bet he is loved wherever he is. The spirit of this man was immeasurable. His music is was a vehicle for perseverance , passion and fookn 🔥 fire. Miles Davis would say. "bad ass mouths fucka"
Eddie Van Halen and dimebag Darrell 2 guys that revolutionised guitar both left us way too early miss this dude those bends holy shit.
put jimi hendrix on your comment too
Two of my favorite musicians Dimebag Darrell playing Gary Moore...Unfnbelievable...!!!
2024 watching all these videos growing up with parents who jammed pantera damage plan down , only 24 but too me dimebagg is the greatest guitarist ever , understand he got his style from many OG’s in the rock scene but too me nobody could absolutely shred a piece of wood like he could ! Rest in peace to a LEGEND
His precision, speed, and tight playing is just unreal
Honestly, one of the most talented guitarists ever, could do anything at the drop of a hat, legend!
Amazing! Gary touched every guitarist! No matter what kind of music they played!
Still got the trills for you. As an Irish guitarist, this one hits home a little harder. Miss ya Dime, still hitting every note in you honour 🤘❤️
Everytime i see this hurts harder and harder through the years... The reason i can't forget this man is because he's a totally a wild soul, one with the music. He's guitar hit you different.
Very rare figure.
amen to that, brother
Gary Moore and Dimebag Darrell. Two absolute legends.
Man.. He could make his guitar sing like no other. The raw power and emotion he played with every night was unmatched by anyone still to present day. Yes Van Halen was mind blowing so was Steve Via and Joe to. But Dimebag has that grab you by the fucking throat playing style that still makes the high on the back of my neck stand up. Keep Dimes name alive!
A Legend appreciating a Legend.....Dime and Gary are trading licks up there...
Love the bluesy sound!
Gary Moore. an influence on all the greats of recent times. dime was just fantastic. phenomenal player. his range, his melody, of course his technical proficiency. The dude had it all

What’s weird is I have just listened to Still got the blues on Spotify and this appears in my RUclips feed.
Serendipity. Gary & Dime r trying to tell us something!!☝🙏. I was looking up Thin Lizzy. They were going to do that tour. Vivian was playing w/ them. I looked up the theatre, etc. Then I saw Gary just passed away like hrs b4 or the day before. Dang!
He actually DID play this live...six days before we lost him😪 It's on RUclips.
I met Vinny at Treasure Island in Las Vegas. He was the nicest person and gave me a CD and a Dime Vision DVD. Dime was supposed to be just like Vinny with the fans. Sad that they are both gone. They were Texas gentlemen. Dimes tone in this video is amazing!!!!
that's incredible! yeah from what I've heard, they were always the best, Dime and Vinnie! sad I was born too late to ever see Dime, but at least I can see him forever in these videos!
@@daniel_naaden I’ve only seen Pantera once with Black Sabbath. They were so loud I couldn’t hear right for a week. It was a great show and I’m grateful to have been able to be there.
