Replaced my heater blower and resistor today after watching this video. Heating had stopped working. All sorted now. Great video - thanks for sharing. Much appreciated 👍👍
My heater just stopped working today, being a spark I instantly thought fuse. However, your comment at the end about water leaking in through the motor being a contributing factor to it packing up, it all made sense. In really heavy rain water appears in my passenger footwell. Going to order a new motor right now to fit in a couple of days. Cheers for the video, appreciate it
Branching out Mick, love it. Nice “how to” video. I just fixed my hot tub impeller, I should have videoed it to help others out. Good idea to test the new motor 1st too.
Great tip on testing that blower motor i keep forgetting vehicles are different over there in the uk and how they are made im used to seeing everything on the right as vehicle there its on the left as is the steering. Great video mate
Hi Mick, that was a great video. If my blower works on 4 does it means I only have to change the resistor? I’ll add I have changed the resistor 2 weeks ago and again doesn’t work , only on setting 4 🤔
How's she goin'? Hello Riley Boy!! Nice fix here Mick. It seems to me getting at the bad part and removing it is way more complex than discovering the part is bad!!! You can be warm now!!! Take care!!!
Great video very good picture from start to finish no parts left out or skips bits save me money very expensive in Ireland for repair we do charity run with trucks for charity and tractor run for charity in Ireland
Very similar to the Zafira. We had two go on the Zafiras we had. This was just before Vauxhall admitted there was a fault. They then replaced all the bits I had put in!

Hi there, I've replaced a heater blower and a resistor (both work when checked and there's power going through the resistor), checked the fuses but heating doesn't work at all. Any idea what could be an issue? Thanks! Great vid!
Hey Mick, my blowers in the central console of Astra G are not blowing, but the driver's side and passenger's side are working well. Can it be the Heater Blower or something else entirely? Cheers for the good video!
Hi mate, thanks for the video its help me a lot to change mine fan broken ! I have a question, I realize my switch also its broken, I mean the switch to regulate from 0 to 4 , do you know the code or something to seek. Thanks Gday
Thanks for this video, I used it to go through the steps to replace my seized blower. Had to happen in November when it's cold. I should point out (an observation, not a criticism), that behind my glove box, it's laid out a little differently. My Resistor was much harder to reach and looked completely different, I suspect I have climate control and you have air conditioning. Also the fan didn't quite pull out as easily as yours. Anyway, these minor differences didn't stop your video being priceless to me so thanks again.
Mick shows us how to demistify changing a blower motor. Sorry couldn’t resist a bad pun! I must say that is easy in a Astra. We had ours go in a Citroen C1 and it was a dashboard out job. I got my mechanic mate to do it as I haven’t got the patience!
thanks for this video Mick you have saved me a fortune in garage bills could you not have tested the motor in situ would have saved time if it was ok... kind regards
Hiya, I’ve checked my motor and replaced the resistor but no blower still, I e been told to replace the motor as it doesn’t sound as it should although it’s spinning , do u think I should replace it
I'm sorting out fan issues in my Astra, and it seems that if the fan motor is ok it should still run on the highest speed setting even with a faulty resistor, as the high setting bypasses the fan resistor(s) and the thermal fuse in the fan resistor. In my case the thermal fuse had blown, possibly from an ageing fan or blocked pollen filter causing additional current-draw through the resistor(s) and therefore more heat buildup.
Mine is still working on highest speed but not on others so have just ordered a thermal fuse, so thanks for that ! That said I may replace fan as well as perhaps with age it might be drawing to much current.
@@stephencrozier396 how did you get on I replaced resistor which lets you use settings 123 but it glows red hot very quickly and I saw smoke so what's that all about
