Tore through Lucy's book in about a week. As she says, it's a completely compulsive read and serves not only as her biography (those emotionally suffocated Belgian parents, Good Lord) but as a terrific history of Manhattan from the early 1970s through through the end of the 1980s. Also has some wonderful insightful writing about San Francisco. It's a brave book about what's required to finally face down and live up to who you are. Bravo.

I read it once and found it touching, poetic and frank. I read it a second time and found it deeply engaging and masterfully written.

I've been an admirer since "Low Life". Happy to hear that you are happier as Lucy.Your prose was always detailed ( a study has proposed) is usually cited as feminine.

Bon courage, Lucy. J'adore "Low Life" et votre travaille avec Scorsese.
