After seeing what this lady produces using Macrame we had to have a go ourselves! This week our lesson finally arrived.
It confused our menopausal brains a little but we had such fun!
Sadly it was difficult to place my camera in the right place as both Sharon and Lynda were unsure about appearing on the video.
Just listening to the conversations is enough entertainment in itself.

Lynda is creating a RUclips channel herself so keep an eye open for her. If she gives me a link I will share it but for now just keep an eye open for Forget Me Knotts Rustic Macrame by Lynda Wakeling

Thanks for adding the pictures so we could follow the steps. I love this lady’s work, I’ve seen her at a few local shows and she has amazing stock……I was utterly blown away by a dress she made 😍😍😍

Oh my! What a blast from the past. I spent the early 70s finger weaving and making macrame plant hangers curtains, bedspreads, table runners wall hangings, bags, lace collars, shawls, Christmas ornaments, animals, dolls etc... Ha! ha! ha! It is so much like tatting!
I still use some macrame knots to do my hair (my hair is really, really long) when I'm trying to achieve 'historical-looking' styles.
Do you know what helped me learn how to macrame? Using different colours of wool/yarn. Once I could do the knots automatically (it didn't take long to develop the muscle memory), I switched to cotton, jute and conventional macrame cording.
Excellent job ladies! I'll bet that was really fun!
Thanks Jan and Sharon! Awesome video!!!!!

@@FOPYUpcycle LOL! I was really crafty when I was a young hippie chick. I wanted to learn and try everything that my grandmother and the nuns disapproved of...
but when I fell in love with sewing, all my crafting became practical instead of creative.

Well done, you did so well both of you. I have to admit I tried doing this many years ago and just couldn't get the hang of it, I found it too fiddly. I did do lace making but that took too long for me with all the bobble's of threads I soon gave up on that after a couple of items I made. I admire your skills Jan. Your teacher was very patient and caring. Thank you all, hope you show us the finished heart. 💕🇦🇺

Hi Liz! I'd love to try lace making, I must keep my eyes open for a class. We enjoyed the macramé, hopefully I'll get it finished soon🙄 We will be doing some pottery painting soon - exciting! Thanks for watching Liz ♥️

I loved pottery, took me ages to learn how to control the wheel to the right speed but when I did it was very rewarding. I still do sketching and water colour paintings and drawings, I use a combination of paints and then colours I mix from using pencils on an extra piece of paper adding water. I used to use oul paunts many moons ago but the canvas and paints got too expensive, plus when the children came aling I never had time. Good luck and enjoy 💕🇦🇺

@@lizstevenson7801 We have a couple of friends who are very good at pottery. One uses the wheel and makes from a slab if clay uf you know what I mean the other uses moulds and does pottery painting classes which is what we will be doing. I have done it many times, I'm hoping she will let me film 🤞
