Thank you for making this virtual tour of Astoria, I live on 27th ST and I feel like I took a stroll around my own neighborhood! I haven't stepped out of the house in over a month, and this was much needed. Also now I have a better idea of which shops are open and which ones went out of business. Stay safe and god bless!

I have only been out a couple of times but some of the stores that appear closed have shorter hours and aren't totally closed. Like the butcher shop and the laundromat. Stay safe and healthy neighbor!

My beautiful neighborhood. I'm heartbroken to see it like this, and to see so many out. I've been quarantined in my 30th Ave apartment for almost 6 weeks now, so I thank you for this walk down my favorite street in the city. Cannot wait to venture out again. Saving this video to never forget the hard times we all went through, together.

I've noticed the same in my City, Perth, Western Australia... the most isolated Capital City in the world. The air is cleaner and the skies are clearer... you can smell nature more often instead of Diesel or Petrol fumes.

When we go out in public now, we have to walk like were in a pac man game. Trying to avoid being eaten by the ghost. back and forth, side to side. I wish this virus would just go away!

April 13th was quite a windy day. I think the litter was flying all over out of the waste bins at the corner of many streets.

I live about 6 blocks from Mt Sinai hospital so at 7pm I go out to the balcony and clap and on some days it lasts a while and its great on others it peters out pretty quickly lol

The thing with the litter is because allot of businesses are now closed, you don't have those owners cleaning in front of their establishments. Plus dept of sanitation aren't deploying street cleaners.

One reason you are seeing more trash on the sidewalks is because the stores are closed. When the stores are open they sweep the sidewalks in front of their establishments. Btw love your vids especially the Taiwan trip!!!!

Thanks once again for yet another wonderful video. A few things:
First, the garbage strewn about was likely caused by strong wind, just like the branches on the ground. If the businesses had been opened, most likely the proprietors would have swept away the refuse.
Second, I wonder about food safety in the open markets and that butcher shop: there is now talk that virus germs are airborne and that they can attach to anything whether it be metal, walls, dogs, or even food. How then do we know if these markets products are safe to eat? How are to we clean them of any impurities? As for me, when I suspect some impurity, I soak my veggies or fruit in cold water and drench them with white vinegar and then a rinse. Hopefully, this will work for all else as well.
Third, there were a few folks in the video that did not shield themselves. They should know that you don't actually need a mask as it is now said that a scarf or bandana is sufficient to protect against airborne bacteria. Hopefully, they will get with the program soon before they imperial themselves or anyone else.

Still far too many people out and about.... people just don't listen at all.....
You have to admit though, anybody who's ever wanted to move to New York is probably an egotist to begin with.... So this is the end result, the conclusion in their head is "I'm not sick I will do whatever I want.".
if we survive it will be interesting to see the books that are written on the different communities responses to this. And whether the New Yorkers will be shamed by historians for flagrant abuse of a "community-based law".
That said there is New York pride, but even I would admit there is a big world out there and New York's not the center of everything, (as much as New Yorkers would like to think otherwise).
don't want to get personal and I don't know if the actionkid reads these comments at all anymore, but I have watched some of his videos casually over the last year, and it sounds like he was born and raised in New York City so he's never really seen anything else, so his actions are a display of a true NEW YORKER, good or bad.
