A general tip for people are new to this kind of survival horror. Pretty much like the 1st TEW. You can kill practically everything except Anima. Where does it become tricky?Inventory management. 1. Learn to use the coffee maker wisely and often: Monsters don't re-spawn so it's usually a good idea to melee them thus saving on gun powder if you can avoid the liability of dying that is. You can always backtrack to any hideout using a path you've cleared of monsters to recover the lost health with the coffee maker. Rinse repeat to be effective. 2. Remember the rule of all survival horror: Headshot and stealth kill. 3. Know your environment. Never run to an area you've never explored while being chased you might cause additional monsters to chase you. Use your environment wisely. Shot on a fuel barrel to cause an explosion. Open water sluice even if you won't use now it might come handy later. 4 Not all monsters are meant to be dealt with a frontal assault. Running can provide with better tactic: E.g the Lament(The tall gas-spitting monster) requires around 15 shotgun in a front assault. Alternatively you do 2 stealth attack + 1 shotgun to deal with him. You just have to run away from his sight after the 1st stealth attack. 5. Never craft any type of ammo to fill up your ammo bag completely. Instead make it a 70-80% filling. This way you will be able to pickup ammo along the way and have enough reserve to avoid crafting outside of a hideout.
One of my favorite little details about this game is how Sebastian does things better on his second go around. Destroying paintings, first time he gets knocked on his ass, second time he only flinches. First jump he falls over, second he lands on his feet. What a neat touch.

seriously, what was the deal with the sound being delayed in certain parts? it was like he would something and the sound wouldn't go off until a few seconds after it happened!
This is what I think. The story and characters are terrible. The atmosphere is incredibly bland and lifeless with some exceptions. The level design had no depth to it except for the open levels. The AI is incredibly dumb. The last third of RE7 at least had a big ship area that you could explore with different paths. Yes the salt mines was super linear, but that was one small gauntlet level out of the many that is in The Evil Within 2. The enemies weren't much more varied compared to RE7 either. Three enemies are the same with a slight inconvenience, so I consider them as one enemy with three others that actually change tactics. The game literally gave me fatigue.
Am I the only one who loves The Evil Within 2 even more than The Evil Within 1? And 1 was already such a masterpiece! Throughout the gameplay of TEW1, there were still so many things left ambiguous, like STEM and Mobious, Kidman's true intention, Joseph's fate (which is still ambiguous lol); there were so many notes about Myra and Lily, yet we never saw how they correlate to the events in Beacon, so it was easy to dismiss those informations as "unecessary" and just a side story to Sebastian's past; and throughout the game there was a slight sense of detachment, because Sebastian was beginning to lose it and he didn't have a true purpose to fight for, other than his mission and his own survival. However, in TEW2, things take a sharp turn when Sebastian realizes that Lily has been alive all along, used as the Core for Union. That is why this time, his journey is so much more personal, more intense, emotional and alive. We can also see this in the general color scheme and ambience of TEW2, which is more colorful, changing from artistic and crimson red and cold blue when pursuing Stefano, to religious and dark red when facing Theodore, to erosion, icy cold yet somewhat more peaceful tone when meeting Myra; as opposed to TEW1, whose general colors are green, grey and black (though this might mainly be because we were inside Ruvik's head.) Not to mention, TEW2 is where most of the unanswered questions in 1 just clicked, and we are able to see the full picture, from Lily's "death", Myra's disappearance, to STEM and Mobious, Kidman's true purpose,... etc. Overall, an excellent game which is meticulous to its every details. I just love it!
Honestly, I legit appreciate the pure cringe that comes with a sinister minister villain so heavily invested in their own delusions and god complexes. What makes Theodore so nasty is the degree to which STEM technology allows him to turn such pure cringe into such a potent and dangerous power. Oh, And Sebastian is basically what you'd get if you combined the Veteran and manly badassery of RE's Chris Redifield, the action survivor and cop on the job that is RE's Leon S. Kennedy, and the dad who will stop at NOTHING to save his little girl up to and including going through a literal hell on Earth that is Silent Hill's Harry Mason... Only he knows how to use a gun. Actually, you could compare him to Ethan Winters too... who himself is basically Resident Evil's Harry Mason too.... Only Sebastian came first and really is just a normal guy.
That moment you realize Sebastian hates using door handles and treats every door like a spartan from 300.
hahaha
THIS IS SPARTA!!!

Still on the fence with this game, it looks good but I think the first one is better.
Sir Joseph the Paladin it worth the buy.... Really good mix of horror and suspense..
I think the background music in 2:00:02 was Clair De Lune by Debussy? You can also hear that on Twilight movie.
I just love it!
lmao was that the kids bop version of that song at the end? I laughed so hard when it came on!!!!
I like how he play the game it's like I'm watching a movie....
Fark man 60 fps on this game is really pure art
