I believe I was the first person to review it on YT and I am very glad it worked out for you so you won't blame me on recommending you something bad (which I never do) civet in there is very intimate (right, I know that might sound unbelievable but civet doesn't smell like pee in there at all) So if you guys like animalic sexy scents try these: Foxy & Randevous by Dsh Perfumes and CiVET by Zoologist

Gents, I’m very late to the party, but I have to say that Matthew’s fragrances are like nothing I’ve smelled before. Wow! This is just like the vintage fragrances I’ve sought out, except he’s creating them today! Any lover of classic chypres in vintage formulations must sample Matthew’s artwork. To describe it as exquisite is an understatement. Mathew has been blessed with special talents, andy he’s sharing them with the world. I recommend anyone who is interested in any way to purchase Civet Cat Chypre and his many other fragrances now!

I know I am late to the party, but I just discovered Meleg and I love them. Vienna 1900 is the best patchouli fragrance I have ever smelled. That and Herb & Spices were my favorite of the 9 sample pack. Ordered a full bottle of both before those batches disappeared.
There are some really gems, treasure them!

Very interesting, but I wonder how ethically harvested the civet can be. Descriptions of regular civet farming methods are a bit hair-raising.
This is what the perfumer had to say about it:
Civets are NOT harmed for their musk..... They are farmed for coffee poop! It’s true! And the farmers just collect the musk as a by product and 99% of it becomes hunting bait. Perfumers just get the scraps. Also, the civet I have is from an Ethical farmer in Ethiopia. A Canadian man I know goes there every year to purchase various types of resins, frankincense etc but also civet musk - from a man that treats the animals well. If the farmers are educated and paid well...the animals are not harmed. Harming animals is the result of poverty and lack of education. But not so with my Canadian contact to Ethiopia.
I get my civet paste from a gentleman in Canada who works with farmers in Ethiopia. He is my first, most trusted source. My second supplier is from a very large company - largest in Europe - and they gives me a letter that promises "no animal testing." We all do what we can. And your right, some of the poorer people around the world farm, in places where "life is cheap," they treat animals cruelty, not so much out of hatred - but ignorance and desperation :-( It's very sad and I do all I can to make sure the animals from which I get my musks are treated well.

I would love to check them out but he should bring down the prices of the samples. Rogue Perfumery is much more affordable to sample.
I know that he is working on some new branding and presentation at the moment, so perhaps he might do a more affordable sample pack.
Yes, I'm just figuring out price points, and logistics and all the technical stuff. Lot's of math.... I need help with it. If you know a good accountant please send them my way!

@@MakingPerfumes A very generous offer Matthew, but I would feel bad if I got a special deal from an independent perfumer... I will keep an eye your Etsy shop for sure. May I suggest that you could switch to 2ml dabbers for the samples, maybe that saves some cost.

Ok. I bought a bottle blind. I get way too big a hit of aldehydes in this. I’m wondering if he changed the formula, or if my bottle just needs to rest, but at this point I do not like it...bc of the huge dose of aldehydes.
On a side note, that’s a lot of sprays of this you did there lol...one small spray of this fills a room!
That's weird. I get no aldehydes at all. Might be worth sending him a message and asking, he's very responsive.

After having watched a fantastic review- given how this leans heavily to the vintage side, I have two questions:
Can it be worn today without smelling dated?

This one has been described as feminine by some. Is it feminine? What's the M/F split on this unisex fragrance?
I suppose it does lean slightly feminine. I tend to think of everything as unisex, but if I had to put a number on it i'd say 65/35 fem.
