      They lost the game to the Suns before that 4-1 run started and lost to the Clippers. Not bad teams to lose to at all. Unfortunately, the FO is gonna look at the season as a whole and while they can improve and likely will. It's still a gamble to keep them both if you have a guaranteed superstar. I'm not saying that's the right move, it's just the move that gives the FO more security.

    I've seen this script way to many times. See this is why many teams stay on the bottom. We've seen this with Shaquille O'Neal in Orlando, we saw this with Antoine Walker with the Boston Celtics, Ray Allen with the Milwaukee Bucks, Kiki Vandeweghe with the Denver Nuggets Jason Kidd with the Dallas Mavericks, Donovan Mitchell with the Utah jazz, Kevin Durant with OKC, Kawhi Leonard with San Antonio etc. I wouldn't move either one of those two. But what I would do is sit them both down and counsel them, reminding them of the ultimate goal. Because once your traded that first time, your value drops each and every time you switch teams

    • @jameswarner300
      @jameswarner300 6 месяцев назад

      @@SwishCulture Yes, the value of a player only carries with the team that drafted them, regardless of the production. Which is why Shaq, Walker, Allen, and many other great players were traded around the league. You see, when a team acquires a free agent, it's to satisfy a need, and if that need isn't met, they are again traded over and over again.
      This is why I persistently kept saying the Warriors should have moved on from Andrew Wiggins last season, the need was met when they won the championship, but after running back the exact same team(big mistake), teams catch up to you and learn how to beat you. So when Wiggins had that down season the Warriors should have moved on(it's a business).

      Orlando wasn't threatening to trade shaq. The moral of the story was Lakers offered him a big contract and he left. It was that simple. If anything it was shaq who started the beef with penny, the same way he did with kobe. Penny was a pass first point guard, he didn't mind passing to shaq. When shaq was hurt in penny second year penny was leading the team and getting media coverage and shaq hated it the same way he hated anytime he wasn't the center of attention throughout his career. The same way he hated when Andrew bynum was the new center in L.A, When dwight was the new center in orlando. The same way he hated on hakeem, lied on David Robinson, kept picking on Javale mcgee, hated on Rudy golbert massive contract with utah. Shaq is a hater and was throughout his career.

    • @jameswarner300
      @jameswarner300 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@coreyjohnson5346 That sounds a little personal and I respectfully disagree in terms of the purpose behind his movement. Orlando low balled Shaq finamcially as they didn't meet his demands on the contract. Shaq stated that he gave Orlando every opportunity to match the offered but they deferred. He said had they matched the offered he would have stayed in Orlando. As for Anfernee Hardaway, he had no animosity towards him. In fact, Penny stated that he was "hurt" behind his departure and felt betrayed. That doesn't sound like a person that had as you felt, "beef" with him teammate.
      They were close and had remained friends after they changed teams. Singling out Shaq as if his ego was to big for the team is wrong, because (all) players have egos, it goes with playing professional sports. LeBron James has the softest of any ego I've ever seen from a professional athlete, he's as fragile as it gets.

    Check;
    1- Last two years of Rockets. Even the tanking rockets started to win by the end of regular seasons. Even when the teams weren't this easy going.
    2- JG of 2 years ago end of season statistics. Exactly the same as now. JG shines great when the things aren't serious.
    I always supported JG's superstar candidate position. But he need to proove himself, if he will be there when there is the need. Not by the end of season, when teams are resting, tanking or preventing injury before play-offs. If he shows that stability, he will be great.

    Lol. Why would they trade one of those players when they both basically made a leap this year? Them offering Jalen for Bridges happen before Jalen figured it out. National media starting narratives they cant coexist is kinda silly tbh. A big thats great down low, attracts double teams & a WILLING passer paired with a dynamic scoring guard. Looks like a recipe for a great offense. Literally the same archetype of a Sabonis & Fox tandem. Somewhat Jokic & Murray? History has it, a great big always need a dynamic guard and vice versa. Why break it up this early? The dumb part, doing it IMMEDIATELY this offseason. Why not wait to see how they look like next season? Whats the rush? @SwishCulture  6 месяцев назад

      @@Chris-uq7in I said this before, but I'll say it again here. JG was my favorite player from this draft. I liked Sengun, but didn't know too much about him and he was undersized at the time. To see them develop is really amazing. Now the problem is that all NBA franchises are businesses. Businesses make business decisions.
      You know what you'll get with a proven superstar with a track record. They're going to give you a certain level of consistency, not just flashes. You already know what you're getting and it's a very high level of basketball. With young talents like JG and Sengun, they look great right now, but what do you get in the postseason? What will you get a year from now? Two years from now? With JG, you didn't even know what you were going to get a month down the road.
      Two months ago the kid was on the trading block. The only reason he isn't at this very moment is because the deadline has already passed. The team knows they need a consistent high level talent to compete and they just don't know if that's what they have yet with these guys. You've heard of Linsanity, right? If you understand that then you get what I'm saying. I love the players, but I can understand what Shams, Tim L and Tim M are saying, as well as the two times the front office tried to get a superstar in the past 9 months.

    Everyone around the league is pushing this narrative because the Rockets are loaded with young talent from Sengun, Smith, Eason, Whitmore, Thompson and Green. We already have seem Segun and Green playing together and winning after Allstar break before Sengun injury and Green's numbers were better with Sengun. Now you add the maturation of Thompson it gives Houston a potential lineup of Sengun, Smith, Thompson, Green, and VanVleet. Stone made some good picks but until this season, he didn't have a coach that could mold them into championship level players.
    Look you can never say never no to every trade, because it might be too good to pass up, but I really doubt that you could get fair value trading Green or Sengun because they are just too good. If Stone somehow trades one of those 2 for non top 5 players, after they have been working together for the last 3 years and finally starting to click under Ime, then I think he simply doesn't know what he is doing as a whole as GM.

      This narrative that the Rockets are playing faster because Sengun is off the floor which opens up Jalen's game surely makes sense for people just looking at the stats and not watching the game. This childish narrative has been floating around the media for weeks now.
      The with the old staring 5, there was only one guy on the floor who could run like a deer, which is Jalen. You can't be a fast pace breaking team with just 1 guy who can run. Enter Amen Thompson. Two guys who can run like the wind can make you a running team.
      As I said earlier, anyone who has been watching the games seems to understand it is Amen being on the floor which has changed everything. Not the fact Sengun is out. I'd imagine long term the Rockets probably sacrifice Dillon Brooks to get Amen on the floor.

He's got a Carmelo Anthony/James Harden vibe about him. Senguin on the other hand, comes across a more serious kid, a serious baller who will stay consistent. With Jalen Green, right now he's riding high, but I dunno, he could also come crashing down partying too much with Lil Baby.

    Alp and Green played at a faster pace last year before our new offense was implemented this year. I think that the coaching staff made a mistake trying to force Green to adjust to this slower paced offense. It wasn’t Green that improved, he was always capable of this level of play. So sick of this mindset that we need a “superstar” to become a contender! So we send off all our young talent for some overpaid star that has 2-3 years left or one that is injury prone.
    The only palatable trade for a superstar is for Tatum or Giannis. No one else.
    Edit: oh and bring back KPJ at a huge discount considering his situation. We would be +6 more wins right now if he was here.

      Landale has been getting a huge run at center, he is less skill and has less mobility than Sengun and the rockets are still running.
      What is making the rockets doesn't seem to be Sengun being out. It has more to do with Amen Thompson being in. Long term it is more likely that Amen replaces Dillon Brooks in the starting 5, not taking Sengun off.

    • @djmill8000
      @djmill8000 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@williamdavis9562 it's different, lendale makes quick decisions after getting the ball because he is not trying to be a hub, when Sengun gets the ball, he posting up, and trying to be more of a facilitator. The ball pops more with landale.. Sometimes less is more. It's good that Sengun has a skill set that allows him to be able to make reads and do all that, but not every team would care that you can. Less is more. Example, Chet doesn't have Sengun skill set, but Chet with SGA is the perfect fit. SGA with Sengun is a no go . Less is more

      Speaking on this is stating the obvious. The Rockets made a statement long ago that everyone was on the table for the right offer. But currently they are looking to trade no one. No mentions have been made to move anyone this offseason either. Everything has been fan speculation

    • @SwishCulture
      @SwishCulture  6 месяцев назад

      @@rebitedon That's interesting considering what's happening is that the media is using a number of things to project a move by Houston. These things include the attempt to acquire a star player (Harden) last summer, a high level role player (Bridges) two months ago which was denied. If JG along with picks could be traded for Bridges, why wouldn't the rockets take a swing at a big star in the offseason? They are clearly already out of patience. I would prefer the guys stay with their franchise as I hate when young players get traded, but to say it's old when it's talking about the potential move based on what the team has been doing isn't exactly accurate.
