Real cops = THE WIRE (HBOs hit drama based in my hometown of Baltimore Maryland) i.e the heroin Capitol for over 20 years. The single greatest drama TV has ever produced, it's still being taught at major ivy league colleges. David Simon and Ed burns, they wrote the 1991 book homicide life on the street (a year in the killing fields/neighborhood) which became the hit NBC show Homicide: Life on the street w future law an order detective John munch. Then they wrote the 2nd book about baltimores long/deeply entrenched open air drug market on the streets book called THE CORNER which also became the hit HBO 6 part mini series in (2000) also aptly named THE CORNER. Then came the big one. THE WIRE (2002-2008) 60 episodes over 5 seasons, critically acclaimed ...it was not built in Hollywood no plot armor, real ex cons, real locales in the city, very little green screening, storylines adapted from real life cases. Both in the realistic portrayal of real police and on the real street with no camera we see it each and every day cops and detectives bringing closure to cases getting justice for victims and their families....and yet they have no backbone....lol and YOU DO ? lol....(eye roll)......riiiiggghhhtttt. lol

I like that and do you remember the episode when a little girl went missing and the perp was found at his home, Ice-T and Mariska had the man handcuffed sitting on the bed and Mariska was looking at a computer I think and the perp try to rush Mariska and she elbow-slapped him and he went down quickly. That scene was powerful and I can't remember the episode number or season but they found the girl buried alive and got her breathing again.

It's not that relevant anymore, the ratings have been going down steady ever since the show (SVU) became more about Benson's private and professional life.
By it still being relevant, dttruman, i’m referring to the continued fight against rape/sexual assault. I am both glad that it’s coming back for a 21st season, and it’s sad that there are still so many stories out there to give it material to work with. In short, I disagree that it’s no longer relevant.
@@DorvellTStewart The only reason why people think it's relevant is that most are members of the Olivia Benson Fan Club. When the rape or murder investigation of a special victim is secondary to Benson's personal problems or the the social/political issue they want to spotlight in most of the episodes now, it loses some of it's quality that was so prevalent in the first few seasons.
She ages so beautifully! In my opinion Mariska is the only person that gets sexier with age furreals. I'm not even gay but this women gets me hot. She plays a badass role on SVU, more importantly she is funny IRL with a down to earth vibe.
I enjoy Colbert but almost every single guest has awkward moments with him.... and he can’t or doesn’t want to save them ! He should have saved Mariska at the end of her goofy story with a laugh or some witty comment

When the rape or murder investigation of a special victim is secondary to Benson's personal problems or the the social/political issue they want to spotlight in most of the episodes now, it loses some of it's quality that was so prevalent in the first few seasons.
