Very cool. Thank you! I have a king quilt that’s just a bit too small for the bed and I want to take off the binding and add another border, then bind again. Thanks for this!!
Great instructions! I'm enlarging a quilted but yet- to-be bound queen quilt to a king, top and bottom row block additions and batting. Super easy, even though I'm using my Janome 😊. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this video! I needed to make my wall hanging larger and was unable to find anything online about how to do it until I found your video. It worked out great and your video and camera angles were so helpful.
Thank you so much! I really needed to add a border to a quilt I made. I was just about to put the binding on, but I realized it was crying out for a border first! Spectacular video... much appreciated!
Thank you! I have a blanket that i made that’s made for a twin sized bed. And I’m getting a full sized bed so I needed to find a way to make a border for it so it’ll fit my full sized bed. Thank you so much for the help!!
You are amazing!! Ive been searching everywhere to figure out how to make the baby blanket I made my son(that's now 6yrs old) lol larger. Now I think I can. It's been sitting not bound because Ive been wanting to make it bigger for a few years. Thank you-now cross your fingers that I can do it!
Sooo amazing to watch you do this! I have a problem with my son’s bedding it is a beddy’s comforter than zips up....... I need to find a way to extend it so he can leave the bottom zipped & the sides unzipped. He likes to pull the comforter over his head so he has to unzip the entire thing then in the morning gets frustrated having to connect the bottom zippers. My idea is to extend the length so the bottom zippers can stay connected, and he will only have to zip up the sides when he gets out of bed. 😁
Great video wish I had seen it last year when I added to an old 1980's quilt! I got it done but not that easily. I really like the way you slide the batting in. I have another quilt to enlarge, I will try your method. Will be home in Wa in a couple of weeks, in CDA until then. Thanks for the great videos I always mention your channel when we travel - I "break into" quilt guild meetings when we travel, make a lot of new friends.
A good alternative.....I've been trimming the batting so it's not in the seam allowance and using stitch witchery to keep it in place against the backing. Thanks!
Great video but what if you already did a backing self binding and after I did it I realized it’s a bit too small I want to add length do I trim or seam rip binding it’s so much work 😫 or do I add to the binding that’s already there I’m so upset wish I found this sooner 😵💫
Brilliant!! Thank you for sharing this.
Fantastic! Thanks for the tutorial.
Excellent, helpful video! Well done! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you so much. I've been wondering how to do this. I made a quilt for my sister and it wasn't big enough for her liking so I can fix it. Yeah!!!

Just what I needed to know. Sometimes you can't think of the solution, but when you see it, it's a revelation.

Thanks for sharing my channel and your kind comments. Glad you like the technique.
Smart, as always, Shelly! I wouldn’t have known to do the batting/Insulbrite that way.
Glad to be able to share!

Another great video. Love the close up! See you in September at SMS! 👏😊
Yes! See you in September!
❤
Thanks soo much.
You are welcome.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Just gotta figure out how to join at the corners if I do this on all four sides…
I just keep it simple and add the top and bottom, them measure the length and add the left and right sides. Just like adding a horizontal border.
Great video but what if you already did a backing self binding and after I did it I realized it’s a bit too small I want to add length do I trim or seam rip binding it’s so much work 😫 or do I add to the binding that’s already there I’m so upset wish I found this sooner 😵💫
So, where the binding is at do you use a seam ripper to open the sides? Then attach then new material? So glad I found the video 😊
Yes. If there was binding that needed removed I would use a seam ripper.
Thanks
You should do another video and title it for quilt as you go method. ❤🌅🌵
