That was legit one of the craziest performances I’ve ever seen. It’s so human, while at the same time it feels like I’m listening to an alien playing. I was completely mesmerized by the middle section where he went off to a completely different place and explored the unknown, and somehow got back. Just beautiful.
I got to see this concert at Cadogan Hall on Thursday and it was one of the most incredible musical experiences of my life. How one man can produce so much music with one guitar is beyond me. He is quite simply a genius. Thank you so much for a brilliant tour!
Absolutely fearless and brilliant! JL can be sublime and cantankerous almost at the same time within one song. Who does that these days on stage with just an acoustic guitar in hand... very few Musicians, imo. His pieces are journeys that take you places sonically that seem spot on and to places you didn't think you were going to, but eventually right back again. A definitive Musician in this time and place. The 'improvisations' are mind-boggling and seem to be in the moment at every turn. I have not seen JL live in person, someday though, I'm hoping... For now, these videos are supreme, THANK YOU!!
I went from France to London to see this live! Worth every second. This rendition of Northern Shuffle blew me away, i remember thinking "They should use it for RUclips!". And here we are ✌
Saw him in Glasgow a few weeks ago. Astounding. I will try to see Julian play live at every opportunity from now on. What an amazing musical experience he provides with one guitar. Just sublime.

Was also at this concert at Cadogan Hall and it was just incredible. Just mind blowing what Julian can achieve on an acoustic. Northern Shuffle was one of the many highlights of the night. Enjoyed Ike Thomas who was supporting as well.
What can you say! OMG! He could perhaps be better if he tuned that thing on his lap. Irony. Having studied guitar for more than 60 years, there is and has not been anyone more above Julian.
He plays 11s on electric, I know. Not sure on the acoustic. @jamiefoy4531 a primary reason for him doing that is to give himself a mental check-in vs. fatigue on the hand. He's stated before that if he gets caught up in an idea and isn't sure where we wants to go, and wants to be more mindful about it, he'll remove his hand from the neck. A pretty common thing for him to do even playing electric.
I want a Julian Lage action figure.🤟😎🎸

100% how I feel. It's the most humanity I've ever felt through a clearly virtuosic player.
I was extremely lucky and was sat directly in front of Julian in the front row for this. An absolutely stunning set.
Cool!
Great!
I am deeply grateful for your presence in this world.
Thank you
This should be played in schools, just to demonstate that human creativity and musical craftsmanship have no limits!

Came for the performance, stayed for the open string rakes! Thanks for the music.
I love the harmonized melody line at 1:30 minutes!
That’s a masterclass in keeping things rhythmically interesting too.
Really inspiring stuff!

Thank you for sharing this with the world, Julian!
Great sense of fun about this rendition. 👏🏻👏🏻
Holy smokes folks!😊
What a phenomenal talent, I never know where Julian is going next, but it is always unexpected and interesting. Amazing!
I really need to change my strings 😂
Mind-blowing.
The man is amazing 😊
A fabulous hall, what lucky people to see him in such a venue, jealous.
I seriously think he was channeling the Joker at one point. So crazy , I love when he just explores . There’s no door he won’t go through.
Like that description!
Amazing and beautiful thank you for sharing your talent!
It was a privilege to be in the room to witness this 😊
Glad to see you travel with those awesome tone carpets. ❤
A blues in the key of C. and that’s what we do.
I was there!!🎉
Keep em coming
Status Quo shuffle Julien! Brilliant.

Woo!
This is insane.

LOVE LONDON GREETINGS FROM THE ORBITRON -
What a blessing ❤
Great video.
Stunning!!
This was my favourite one when he did this track in Dublin. Obviously due to the improv nature it was a little different but not that much really.
Where's all the 'whoops!" ? Whoo-hoo!
Too many jaws on the floor 😂😂

!!!!!!!
I wonder what gage string he’s using. Playing acoustic that long has got to a ridiculously hard to do and he never misses a note.
When I saw him last week he'd occasionally take his left hand off the neck to give it a little breather during a song

Now he's just insulting us
lol
I hear some Lennie Tristano in there I believe.
This is one special human☮️❤️💥🔥❤️🔥
Should be watching him in Leeds right now, but the bastard weather messed everything up! Gutted!
oh no! commiserations 😔
@13jcarey Cheers! Absolutely distraught! Hopefully if he brings the lads with him next year, I can make that one.
So sorry to hear it. Have seen him 3 times (once acoustic, two trio shows), it's an experience.
Looks like a young Abraham Lincoln playing guitar in 2024.
Honestly
Now I can’t unsee, thx
