- Colonia, Yap island, island of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia - tour of capital Colonia of the island of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia, Pacific Ocean. Let's go for a tour around the town of Colonia, the beautiful capital of the island of YAP, one of the states of the federated States of Micronesia in the western Pacific Ocean.
Colonia is an urban area which serves as the capital of the State of Yap, one of the Federated States of Micronesia. Colonia administers both Yap proper and some 13 atolls and islands reaching of the Federated States of Micronesia to the east and south for some 800 kilometres.
Yap or Wa′ab classically refers to an island located in the Caroline Islands of the western Pacific Ocean, and a part of the Federated States of Micronesia.
Yap is an island in the Federated States of Micronesia, in the Pacific Ocean. It’s ringed by coral reefs that are home to manta rays and sharks. Huge pieces of ancient stone money and traditional thatch-roofed meeting houses dot villages like Kaday and Wanyan. In Colonia town, the Yap Living History Museum explores Micronesian culture through dancing and handicrafts. The Tamilyog Trail winds through dense forest.

Beautiful video of Colonia, the capital city of YAP with its calm and tranquil surroundings. The churches were simply lovely, although by the amount of
seats in the church, it does not appear that very many people regularly worship
in the church. It appears that Colonia the capital city is more in a rural setting
than as a capital city. The scene that you filmed on a cloudy day indicates to
me that this area gets at times very heavy rainfall, and that is basically confirmed
by the heavy vegetation that surrounds Colonia, the capital city of YAP.
What is the population of Colonia?
+Michael Friedman Colonia has around 6 thousand people, very rural setting, it gets lots of rain and it also gets very hot (low 90s at the highest temperature). It is also a very historic place because it was occupied by the Japanese during WW2..
im going there
Have a great time!! 😊😊
Mirconesia, Palau, Marshall Island, and Northern Mariana Island architecture very similar to Batak of North Sumatra architecture, and also North Sumatra Malay architecture(Bumbung Lontik, very similar to Minangkabau of West Sumatra and Kampar Malay of Riau architecture)

It is a beautiful (and a historic) place..
Beautiful.
+Oliwier EB Thank you for your comments and for watching my videos, I enjoyed my trip to YAP in Micronesia and Colonia was a beautiful town..
Great video Vic ! Micronesia is a difficult and expensive place to get to. Not a lot of flights to that place ... From what I have heard, it's a very traditional place where old customs are very much present. Another place I need to visit for sure. Seem to be a lot of wind though ...
+Cta2006 The island of Yap was beautiful and very historic, I flew there from Guam and stayed for 6 nights.. The people were very nice and you can see more videos from Yap by typing 'vstefanu Yap' on youtube..
+Cta2006 Actually, you have to type 'vstefanu yap micronesia'...

There isn't much airports in Micronesia as most societies there are ancient and thriving with old ways.Start by Guam or Palau they can help you travel to Yap.The Yapese still keep many traditions to this very day modernization is rare there.
The people were so rare to see in the video
The vocals did not like to be videotaped, so I avoided videotaping people as much as possible..
