I turned water container into a working pressure tank!

- 🙂 The goal of this video is to-give the viewers a new idea and to showcase the capacity of an
ordinary water-container how it perfectly handle a pressure up to 50psi or more (30psi recommended for safety) with a gag as my-main goal. I don't showcase here how
the engineering behind a bladder-tank works. No deep details and information was shown
through-out the video because its just for fun.
But here in the-description I will explain all the FAQs. 🙂

This is only a video-evidence, (not a DIY) of my-successful experiment in transforming
a regular 5gallons water-container (round) into a substitute pressure-tank that can hold
a standard-household water pressure of 40-60 psi!

This set-up was tricky. At first glanced you can-say its not a real deal.
But if you look closely and understand everything, you will find it amazing.
You can see this thing does not-have air inlet (schrader valve) like a normal
bladder-tank. But remember that the-tank used in this project was plastic.
It has an elasticity (like rubber) unlike metals. That acts as 2 in 1, a bladder, and a-tank.
The orientation of the pump and the-tank was carefully planned to ensure
a good working outcome. I placed the-tank above the pump so that the air will remain
in-tank while being compressed. I compressed the air by closing the water out-let. And
allowing the pump with water to run while the-tank is empty (nothing but air). As the
pressure rises to 50psi the-tank begun to compressed the trapped air in-side and
making the tank's top bulged. You can see the water increases to the-tank making it
60% water and 40% compressed air at 50psi. As the pump turn's off at 50psi, you-have
3-5mins (depends on how you conserve the flow of pressure) to drop the gauge to 30psi
where the pump starts-working again. As the pressure drop to 30psi, the-tank will be less-stressed
making it 40% water and 60% uncompressed air. The pump will work about 1 min
to fill the 50psi or-less if you have-a bigger pump. And now the cycle is complete.

I don't en-courage you to remake this process for safety precaution. Dealing-with pressure
is-dangerous specially above 30 psi. However if you still wanted to try, keep the pressure
below 30psi for your safety and also to prolong your materials lifespan.

muy sencillo colocar una valvula de antirretorno tipo menbrana de vacum en la parte superior con orificio a la botella y el otro lado de afuera de la valvula la conecta con entrada de vacio o vasum que se genera en la segunda entrada de la bomba , la mayoria tienen esa opcion, en este video se ve que tiene esa entrada en la bomba que no la usasn, pues bueno esa segunda entrada de la bomba , es para conectar una linea que al vacum de menbrana en la parte superior de la botella, de tal manera que cuando se enciende la bomba succiona la bomba por la entrada normal y tambien crea un vacio o succion por la otra entrada que menciones ..de la bomba .. eso forzara a mover una menbrana del regulador instalado en la parte superior de la botella,, y esta a su ves por el lado de adentro forza a succionar el aire , subiendo el nivel del agua dentro de la botella.. el agua no pasara por el reguladotr porque la menbrana del regulador no la deja pasar, la menbrana es como un chupon o succionador cuando se deforma por el efecto de vacion proveniente de la entrada de la bomba .... mientras esta encendida la bomba, envia agua de servicio y sube el nivel del agua en la botella forzado por la menbrana, al apagarse la bomba, el agua se empuja hacia abajo entregando presion de agua al servicio , estando la bomba apagada, eso sucede por la nivelacion de presiones en la parte superio del tanque el vacio o vacum se transforma ahora en presion positiva, empujando agua al servicio estando la bomba apagada
please show the water level rising and lowering and the pressures too. That would be educational since it is transparent and everyone can see it. Also the cut-in and cut-out as the water level falls and rises. Thanks

A'ight, the correct way to use plumber's tape is to wind it in the same direction as the fitting that screws on, and you only need at most 2 full turns on most small fittings. Something 2 or more inches might need 3 turns of tape from the open end to the beginning of the threads. Hate to see what happens when that plastic degrades and ruptures under 50psi. Don't place metal objects or knives nearby or they may go flying and kill someone.

Ended really stupidly! Plus these water bottles become very britle under UV light. So it would take the pressure now but would eventually explode.

The safest way is to put a relief valve 55 psi if anythig goes wrong with pressure switch.
hey, when the bottle is empty, the pressure should go back to the normal slow flow rate right?

I've tested these, these bottles can go upto 200PSI before bursting, try 150PSI and your spray jet will work much better
Yes i think it can. Though I only reach around 75psi only but with no problem at all. However I don't recommend using pressure above 50psi since dealing with high pressure is deadly.
Please take precautions in that pressure someone can get serious injuries if wrong time on wrong place

This does not have a pressure bladder inside like normal pressure tanks so your pump is still going to run alot
Nope! My set-up only starts the motor at 30psi and stops on 50psi. The motor will start again if the gauge drops to 30psi. The trick is to put the water in the tank empty. And all will work like magic. The elasticity of the plastic alone act as a bladder. No need for a valve.
What your saying is true this will work for a while, that being said adding a bladder will dramatically improve the service life of the tank. I’d recommend putting in some thick balloons. Old school plumbers used to use this same technique in water hammer arresters but is no longer code

You noticed this as well. The plastic tank is a pointless exercise. It does not do the job of an accumulator. Could simply put a t-fitting in pressure line for the pressure switch. The plastic tank does nothing.

I adjust to make it lower. 30/50
Don't think it will work for me. This thing goes to 60psi plus. I tried a different pressure switch with no success. So the original digital one works

This one don't need a schrader valve or air intake it only relies on its water pump's power to compress air in the tank.

Yes useless design. The main purpose of the press tnk is to prevent excessive running of pump and build up press The line which is going to the press tank are same of the outle valve.

It depends to a kind of water pump. here in this video I only used a water booster pump with 1/4 horse power (HP). The bigger the HP (like 1/2 HP or higher) the better.

You did not show the reason for having a pressure tank and that is the amount of draw down so the pump is not on continuously.
The answer to your question is that little "Pressure Switch". It cuts the the pump power off after reaching the your designated pressure.
@@KeytoChannel I know that but the pump works continuously and a pressure tank prolongs the life of the pump.
Qualified plumbers will recommend the installation of a pressure tank even a small one.
You can get minimal air pressure by allowing the motor with water to run while the container is empty. Trapped air inside the tank will compress and serve as a passive air pressure though its minimal, but it works. I only use it for cleaning so the pump will not work for that long.

how did u get air in the bottle
U can put air inside by forcing the motor to run while the water outlet is close. This will build the pressure inside while compressing air to the tank.

Hindi po pwede ang drum na blue. Ang shape nya po ay hindi naka design for pressurized.

There is a thing called air over water pressure tank also called bladderless pressure tank, its made of either galvanized or stainless steel. same principle but usually the tank is pressurized with air to about 20psi and then you let the water in working with 20/40 pressure switch.
