Your hard work, passion and enthusiasm have been recognized! Congrats to both of Jay and Thomas! We definitely will see more high quality products from you guys.
Honored to play a part in this video, and I really enjoyed the speakers. My only feedback for the team is that the CSS logo on the front is too high contrast and too large in proportion to the speakers. It’s a great cabinet that screams high-end, but that logo needs to be toned down (I’d size it about half off what it is currently, and go with a dark grey against the black baffle so that it’s more of a shadow/depth/textural thing and less in your face). Wonderful sound, though. I can’t say enough good things about these speakers. I seriously can’t think of a better speaker under $30K that I heard at the show.
Congrats! I must say I enjoyed Jays speakers with Tomas’ amp just as much as the room with the Harbeth 40.3. Yes I like clarity, warm sounding speakers with good tone and imaging.
I got my deposit in on April 1st. Thought that was fitting if I made a mistake (fool). Hearing this series of reviews, I'm glad now. I built the 2TD-X and absolutely love them but Typhon seem highly reviewed here. Jay claims " on another level". 🎉. I can't wait for July

Congratulations Jay. I met you in Florida on the elevator. Glad to see things going well. Love to see passionate young audiophiles continuing the tradition.
I understand this video is from 3 months ago, but I wanted to say, congratulations your product was an absolute hit and you succeeded in your mission to create a great value speaker. Hi Jay thanks for coming all the way out to Axpona so we could listen to your speakers and Thomas' amp! Here are my impressions: Typhons: Soundstage depth was immediately apparent which was amazing considering that most rooms at the show just sounded 2 dimensional. As advertised these are FULL RANGE towers. The bass went deeper than anything I heard without a sub below $17k. They sounded pretty even over all frequencies with no big dips or bumps that I could tell. They have a nice tonal balance with clear highs that are not overpowered by too much bass. Center image was strong despite no toe-in. Vocals had some meat on the bones without sounding too thick or wooly. Well done! Galion: This is tough since I don't have much experience with amps but I did get to compare it with the Norma. I'd say that you could tell that the Norma had more power and grip on the Typhons but it wasn't a huge difference. I wouldn't have noticed it without hearing them side by side. The Galion still made the bass sound great and gave some amps powered by KT150s a run for the money. Treble was comparatively more natural and a little softer in a good way. Which is to say that for the size of the room I think the Galion was the better match. It would probably come down to a choice of presentation for most people... But then again I think the Galion can also run KT120s so who knows!
While I was not able to attend the show, A friend and his wife did go. I had him check these out. He was not aware of them until I mentioned them to him. He runs modified SB Acoustics Sasandu's with high end Graphene Satori drivers with outboard active crossovers, each speaker powered by 3 Digital Amplifier Company mono Cherry amps. His setup sounds insane. His comment to me regarding the Typhons....... "Pretty nice"! Great job!
Hey Jay! Happy for you and your new speakers. It was nice meeting you in person, glad you didn't charge me to take a picture with you;) Yep that was me asking if you were going to charge me:)
87dB is not a difficult sensitivity to drive. If you look at 90% of commercial speakers, they will have a mid-80's sensitivity. CSS don't overstate the sensitivity of their speakers, but some other companies have been known to. Don't make too much of the Sensitivity spec; amp power is cheap, and if the speakers get loud enough to be fully enjoyed with modest power then everything is fine.
Your speakers look great. My only gripe aestheticaly speaking, is the CSS logo looking way too large for the scale of the speaker. If I ordered a pair, I would request them to be made without those logos attached to the enclosure.
I just came from Andrew Robinson channel he reviewed the Q acoustics speakers. Was my same gripe with those ! Big Q logo right under the driver front baffle. Cheesy ! It seems to be the new cool thing to do

I still do not believe that its enough power to drive those speakers, unless you are listening 1m away. 88db into 4ohms. Hard sell
were you at the Axpona show? We were hardly driving the amp to it's limit. The speakers are not hard to drive, it can easily be said it's a 8ohm speaker.
After the show we had a private demo, I remember we were not able to push the volume beyond half because it was just too loud.
