  • Update: To be clear, the limbo jumps don't happen too much with the gold version, but do on the blue, so after speaking with others and getting more feedback, seems it's a quality control issue on the blue, but the scroll is at normal levels for limbo jumps on the gold. Every wheel will have them from time to time, just how it is. I was worried because I had heaps on the blue copy, but it makes sense it's just a defective unit.
    Finalmouse are back with even lighter mice, so they top the amazing magnesium Starlights and they return to the top positions on the Top Mice list. The Starlights were removed due to being discontinued, otherwise, they would've retained the top position over the Viper V2 and G Pro X.
    So these mice are even lighter but also offer some new and great features, definitely worth a look! And I'm told they will be in continual production, so at some point, once demand is fulfilled, we'll see them always available throughout the year. Looking forward to that, as I know so many people were missing out on previous drops or having to buy from scalpers (not recommended, by the way).
    Anyway, great to see Finalmouse leading the way again, to even lighter weight and a cool new battery life feature on the puck. Love to see it.

      @@Divinity_vA thank you man I appreciate the tip, yeah I figure the small might be my best bet as the dimensions are most similar at least in terms of length and width. My main concern at the moment is the sides of the final mouse are slimmer than the x2 which I may have to try and adjust to and im ngl i love the shape of the x2 as its the mouse that has best supported my grip so far. honestly if I end up not finding the finalmouse not to be for me I was considering getting an x2h mini since the shape on that looks super appealing to my grip style.
      On a separate note in your experience with finalmouse what kind of mousepad did you find the most comfortable with it? Also if you did, what feet did you use or are the stock pretty good? I know its sort of a subjective question but i'm just curious from your experience. thanks!

    Remember guys, no need to fight over your FOMO with this mouse. Just keep waiting until you're comfortable to purchase. The longer you wait, the better the QC gets as they get more and more complaints and RMAs. There's usually a better chance that later batches will be even more consistent with their intended quality for mice. No guarantees on that matter tho, just pure speculation.

    Hi. A comment regarding hump position. I have an MZ1 and it's great. It feels super stable with a fingertip grip. Like you I grip it with my fingers further forward on the mouse (maybe even slightly more forward: I have large palms and relatively short fingers). However I do prefer mice with a hump towards the middle. The reason for this is that I have a very light and relaxed grip with my fingers in a neutral position, and this fits with holding the mouse at an angle and not straight in the hand. I like to fit the mouse to my hand, not my hand to the mouse. Having a hump towards the back makes the mouse tend to rotate straighter against this position, trying to make the hump fit in the hollow of my palm, and fighting a little against my natural grip. Tho maybe this plus the comfort grooves is what gives the MZ1 its stability. Also interestingly despite this, it's the least fatiguing mouse I've used -- my hunch is that the small size and low button height keeps my hand tension low.
    Also, just btw, I like symmetrical mice more but I figured that the MZ1 was close enough to try out. I'm naturally right-handed but ambidextrous with mice, and I actually prefer gaming (FPS) with the MZ1 left-handed :D Mostly because my thumb feels better that way against the flatter side, rather than the other fingers. I've since padded out the other side a little with some tape to make it more symmetrical.
    Also, just for info, I main an M8, but the the MZ1, while feeling quite different, is a very close second. I love small and maneuverable mice.

      The wheel is hard to get right. They're trying to keep weight down to an absolute minimum while also making something that will last a long time. Unfortunately I don't think they thoroughly tested for limbo jumps, but I've let them know now so hopefully future versions will be ok or improved. The gold copy wasn't too bad at least.

    A 15-20g decrease will makes this shape reclaim the top spot for the most recommended mice if we go by your principles.
    Finalmouse is leaving peoples in the dust with their progress of weight reduction, already moving beyond magnesium allow and look for carbon fiber mods.

    I didn't know you designed the MZ1. I have been maining the MZ1 wireless for a little over a year now. I love the feel of it. The only thing is I wish they would come up with an update to help with the latency. All the other mice right now are getting really good with latency. I also rock glass skates on my mz1 and daily drive it all the time with the glass. It was a loooong time for me to get use to the 0 friction lol. I couldn't click anything for so long. I just kept dragging things around when trying to click on anything.

    • @IStratz
      @IStratz 7 месяцев назад +2

      My biggest complaints so far with the MZ1 is just the tendency for the mouse to tip over on it sides. It doesn't like to stay very flat on the desk and I inadvertently tip it on its side sometimes making the sensor kinda go wack. Also the weight balance feels a little top heavy. Especially compared to a mouse like the MM712. On the MM712, it feels like the entire weight of the mouse is perfectly flat on the base. The last thing is just the switches the MZ1 uses. The initial click is good, but the rebound sometimes blends in a lot with the initial click and just feels a little off. It makes it harder to predict when you release the click. Would love some good optical switches on it. One thing I have to give credit for is xtrfys wireless tech is so much better than coolermasters. I can literally feel the jitteryness on my mm712 when tracking sometimes and I confirmed this looking at polling stability graphs. For some reason the coolermaster wireless tech is just really jittery and not super stable. On the MZ1 I haven't had a single drop out ever in the months and months of using it. And the mouse feel is super smooth and consistent. And the polling stability graphs reflect that as well.

      It's a new encoder and most wheels have some limbo jumps, pretty standard, it's just I think the steps are too big or ... mechanical? Hard to describe, but these "click" into position, which you'd think would stop the limbo jumps, but actually makes them worse because there's enough tension to keep the wheel in place even between steps. It's a fine balance they have to find, I guess. They're aware of it now so we'll see how it goes. Again though, the gold copy wasn't too bad, just something that really hinders me these days when I play Apex.

    Something else to point out about low weight: it's less strain. I've had major surgery in right shoulder. The shoulder will never be what it was, but I've recovered and enjoy a mostly standard quality of life with only very minor issues (for example: I can still handwrite but the quality is lower than it was). I can still game with a mouse and keyboard, but I require a light weight and a low resistance in order for it to not cause strain, especially over longer gaming sessions.
    I currently use a G Pro Superlight with a Logitech hard pad, and I can still get a good day of gaming in with only short breaks when I have the time. I'm very curious what Zy has to say about hard pads, as I'm considering upgrading to a glass pad soon, both for less resistance and also for longevity (the hard pad doesn't seem to last too long). I am worried about there being a point of negative returns, where there is so little resistance it causes more strain since I have to counter my own acceleration more as opposed to letting friction slow and/or stop the mouse.
    When I used to play on cloth with a heavier mouse, it was unbearable after an hour of use post-surgery. Things needed to change ASAP. I'm VERY interested in this new finalmouse.

    Sadly many units rn have bad flexing on the side and palm part , the specs and shape are insane , but something like that is not okay , also the shipping delay is a joke , from aug 1 to december ! They updated the shipping for batch 1 again to 2-3 weeks , and 2nd batch will launch in dec 10th
    They delayed the shipping for QC control , but even now many people who got it in the US complain about the flexing issue
    I srsly hope finalmouse can improve that stuff otherwise i think they get a huge backlash

    There's a lot to love about this mouse, especially the fact that they have an L size model (super important for my large hands). And i would have ordered it in on a release IF it had sidewalls for the main buttons. The open/overhang main button design does not work with my fingertip grip at all, and renders it unusable for me :(
    This makes me wonder - are there any benefits to having this overhang/open (non-sidewalled) button style for any gripstyles? Why aren't sidewalls standard?

    • @nlmaster9811
      @nlmaster9811 7 месяцев назад +1

      It lowers the weight, it really only comes into play if you hit your keyboard since it doesn’t effect grip, in which case most competitive gamers are using 60% keyboards anyway.

So bothe my pink wnd ring fall on the holes witch i dont like. I tried grips but most are to thick and changes the way the mouse feels. Only way i was able to fix this without changeing width was buy useing the ultra thin grips that came with the g pro superlight

    First off, thank you for the video.
    Second, I don’t want to be that guy, but I feel like I should mention this every time I see it, and for everyone who might read this.
    Final Mouse will NOT achieve their claim of continuous availability anytime soon.
    While the reviewers may not intend any harm on their part by mentioning this goal, it’s still hype and dishonesty with FM’s marketing, and I’m going to call it out. If I’m wrong later, I’m wrong. As it stands though, they have not even delivered the keyboard they made such a big deal out of to their customers, and they are struggling to deliver each batch (AKA “DROP”) of the ULX on time. As far as I can tell, they’re still doing the same old things and having extreme issues with their delivery windows, but glossing it up with better marketing and reviewer coverage.
    That all being said, I don’t hate FM and I plan to purchase the ULX from a friend who was able to buy them. I just believe there needs to be more transparency and less reliance on the whole “continuous availability” thing. This won’t happen for at least a year, if not more. In the meantime it will take you months to obtain one direct from FM at retail, AFTER you beat the bots, endure the shipping delays, and possibly QC issues. If you still want one, that’s alright; I just want you to know what you are signing up for.
    Thank you for reading. If I’m wrong later, let me know.
