good demo man. really good that you did it with a sampler! the result is one of the best demos of this pedal (and much better than your own Torso's S$ (sorry, S4) recently;). 13:30 'just two notes' wow. the freeze part demoed in a very special way too. good.
Hello. Today I connected my D2 outputs to Onwards input, and its output back to D2 inputs. So I had a chance to resample everything with beautiful glitches. Great fun, I recommend this way of exploring both machines. Cheers
@_Sundrugs How did you do this successfully? I can't figure out how to monitor the pedal in Digitakt's recorder without super loud feedback. Audio routing work around or something?
so, I was a constant user of hologram, which is an instant gratification pedal. I lately start feeling that I was getting the same kind of sound from it so I decided not to use it for a while. Onward , or mood, are more controllable and you can have a better idea of what will happen, which I prefer.
@@riotghandi I think if you had both Mood 2 and Onward like I will(Onward on the way this week),they pretty much will cover what Microcosm can do.. Like Oora says they have more control and tweakability ,plus save on board space..all be it both together being more expensive than Microcosm..
@@patrickr6505 to me the chase bliss pedals sound a lot more deeper and midrange (especially mood) heavier than the microcosm. i use them in a way i have midi randomed all parameters and the outcame is allways pretty heavy and deep. microcosm mostly sounds a little bit superficial. but all are really nice and great pedals. if budget is not a problem i recommand buying all the chase stereo pedals and chain them. if one can only afford one pedal, i think microcosm would be better solution.
Very useful overview and tutorial. And great ear candy! I was particularly interested in the section on ambience, but didn't really understand it. At 18:14, when you say "put the trigger probability very low", are you referring to the hidden sensitivity feature? And are you doing that to keep an ambient pad going without replacing it? If so, couldn't you just latch it? (I'm not arguing with you because I don't know anything about this--I'm just trying to understand what you are doing.)
I meant the trig probability in the digitakt, so less note are played! but you could also use a random loo to modulate velocity and then play with the pedal sensitivity. Is a good idea!
That's an interesting but too expensive "Glitch machine"! 469 Euros in late 2024: for that price or even less, I'll be able to buy a little synth with built-in granular effects instead. Glitches are very trendy nowadays in our too perfect digital landscape where people get nostalgic of old analogue imperfections. I wish someone made an all-purpose affordable randomizer side-pedal introducing glitches through which you'd be able to play and route any more regular pedal(s). Some adaptable, upgradable (both hardware-kit parts and firmware-wise), with buttons re-assignable and random levels and algorithms tweakable / selectable / up- & downloadable via an app. Sustainable electronics made by eco-conscious people, without having to become a music gear engineer, but an open-minded user fond of learning at one's own pace. But it could be fun to hop on the DIY wave! Thanks for the demo! :)
Case Bliss stuff is always great but come on let's make a big shout out to Red Panda Particle and expecially to Boss PS-2 one of the craziest pedal unit ever!
Agreed,I have The Particle 2,It's unbelievable..Can do a lot of what the Onward can do.. It has 8 killer modes plus you can mix and match them..I still ordered the Onward though because of it's sample/Envelope based core..I look forward to pairing Particle and Onward..
I paired onward and particle2 and it's fantastic ! but I will use them on separate channels (onward for bass strings, particle 2 for treble strings) and it should be even more exciting. fantastic demo by the way, baci !
Was trying to resist this one really Should not have watched this! 🤦🏻 Love my meris ottobit but this would be great for mellower textural glitch & the dynamic aspect is really intriguing 🤔
Hi Oora, Thank for your videos! If you had to choose between this and Habit, which would you go for? (for fun and sound exploring) Already own Mood and might be my favourite pedal ever.
I kinda know what you mean..Mood 2 is perfect for ambient Soundscapes..The Onward seems like it's more for playing along with it, Although it has infinite pads/glitches etc..I have Mood 2 and I love it..I will be getting Onward next week,so looking forward to discovering what it can do..
as the other comment says. Mood is a textural tool, this one is something that accompanies you. They might overlap a little, but putting them together is a lot of fun.
Going to be honest was not to excited with the all the demos of this pedal but watching your demo is making lots of gas for me. I need to decide on either this, sealegs, or magneto. Which one guys?
hard choice man. if you are in eurorack might make sense magneto or sealegs ( i released a video yesterday about magneto). onward is a creative tool that complement other basic delays
Lol so true! I have been doing very good about not just going out and buying every piece of gear that hits the market so trying to make careful decisions on pieces of gear that I know I will actually use long-term. Sea legs has a lot of the rave right now but there aren’t a whole Lotta demos out on it. There is a plethora of magneto demos. I already have mimeophon and Nautilus so not sure. I also have almost every chase bliss pedal so there again I’m not sure if there’s a ton of overlap with onward.

Very curious about this for glitching up drums, but was unsure given the dynamic portion. Though it seems to work fairly well for that. Hmm.
Excellent demo
Great demo! Looking forward to trying this one out myself. Love all the stereo-capable CB stuff these days.
me too!
Awesome. It reminds me of some older Dj. Krush.
used to listen a lot to dj Krush, great days...

do u think it is very diffferent from mood mk2?
How much crossover is there between what this does and what a hologram microcosm does? Sounds great
i like my onward. but for almost same price, microcosm delivers a lot more diversity.

hi oora, is this your new favorite chase bliss pedal? what would your top 3 be from them
Mood is my favorite, the one come close, I also like habit a lot

Such a shame they did Add A FX send on The DT2
How does it compare to the S4 by Torso? The S4 is not quite ready yet, but can it do similar stuff?
I would love to hear these sounds processed through the S4.
great idea!
SUPER OV3RVI3W
thanks!
Is it line level?
Yes it works well with line
@@OoraMusic Thanks! Great channel. I like your content and music man👌🥸
Montreal Assembly Count to Five comes close
But its a mono!)
use a matrix mixer (Matrise) or a cheep Zoom 50x pedal that Supports mono in stereo out.
🤔 I want to like this pedal but it just seems Mood 2 gets you there faster and easier

@@OoraMusic absolutely… but these are quite expensive pedals. If I were to buy one, I’d go with the Mood2
