Bedroom update for fall (textiles, sewing & easy DIY)

In this bedroom update for fall, I wanted to create a Scandinavian minimalist feel BUT with warmer colours, patterns and easy DIY:s. Sewing your own curtains, bed sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases etc is an easy and cheap way to upgrade the look and feel of your room.
By updating the bedroom with simple, sustainable pieces, you'll not only feel happier in the room, you'll also be conserving resources and reducing your environmental impact - which, is important to me.

Those curtains turned out beautifully! I also LOVE the little corner with the candle on top of the books with that piece of artwork off to the side! I use books as candle and plant stands in a few places in my house and they always end up being some of my favorite spaces🤗

Thank you so much! I actually like them better now, and think I might try and make new curtains with a contrasting colour in the bottom next time. And yes!!! I love to have it lower down, to be closer to the books and the little stool nightstand I have there. Books are such a great thing both for decor and life.

What kind of sewing machines do you use? I love your green one. I want to buy a pretty old one but I'm worried I won't know how to use it. You inspire me to get back into sewing!

I'm happy to hear that I do! The sewing machine is the one you can see, the green one. It's called Automatic and is an old one from the 50's from the brand Husqvarna. I wasn't sure how to thread it at first, but there's always a good RUclips tutorial for those things so don't let that stop you!
