They weren’t even making fun of him, just showing him. The rule about not showing him is a rule against idol worship, it has no relevance to people outside the faith.
@ajzeg01 There are plenty of extremists who will take offense to any depiction of their idol even if it's not satirical. I can think of other people who do this for other idols rather than just Muhammad.

Would you prefer that the corporation milk this for every single penny at the expense of the lives of other people? The logical decision when being threatened by a major terrorist organization that has killed millions of people is to back down because it’s not worth it for a silly cartoon. In my opinion, Muhammad's very name being censored kinda adds to it. He is so untouchabke the kids cant even say his name out loud without it being censored
The episodes are always available through the pirate sites. 'Banning' an episode doesn't work, they basically just demonetized their own content, it's their loss.
As Paramount pulled 200 and 201 from the UK DVD release, they realized people would just buy the Blu-ray and watch from there and they were not gonna let people outside of the US see the banned episodes, so they also went as far as region locking the Season 14 Blu-ray to only work in Region A However it really wouldn’t work as some also owned region free players
There’s an interview on CNN with Seth Macfarlane and Penn Jillette about this episode I recommend watching, it kinda shows the difference between Seth’s values and Trey & Matt’s
I got to go find 200 and 201 so that I can finally watch it all the way through. I remember seeing part of it back when it came out but I had no idea it was going to be a banned episode. I think I had to go to school or something I don't think I was working at the time. Or I was studying or I just didn't want to hang out with my brother who was watching it. One thing I think is stupid though is that the cartoon Wars two-part episode actually was not banned for the longest time. In fact when the show was on Hulu it was available both parts. Ever since HBO Max now simply just called Max took over, the episode has been unavailable.
Such a shame Comedy Central bended knee to the violent threats, To this day I feel like it’s rarely discussed how that’s just “OK” that religion acts that way about drawings lmao
I remember thinking back to those old episodes where the large censor bar was part of the joke, only to be completely surprised to find out that it wasn't. I had a similar reaction to 200/1, but there was part of me that thought it felt off. Having to look up whether or not Kyle's speech was intentional or not. I suppose it's perhaps the biggest/best piece of unintentional meta commentary and jokes you can have with the subject though. It's telling that the biggest controversy came from South Park merely mentioning the Religion of Peace. I think that's the biggest thing about it, there was no joke. Just putting him on display and saying, "Why is this bad?" In spite of all their jokes and insults about every other religion, hell, Satan is probably one of SP's best characters. Not at all something that warrants any kind of discussion on how we, as a modern western society, react and treat psychos and savages. Regardless of whether or not they're a minority or peak representation of their group. Nope. Somewhat reminds me of Clone High and the reaction to Gandhi. Which also had the studio completely fold, cancel the show and only bring it back years later with said character removed. Funnily enough with South Park having already made fun of him, by depicting him in hell.

I recently watched blooms video on this episode, honestly end the end I understand why Comedy Central had to censor the episode, but banning the 5 episodes with Muhammad is a bit overboard because all 5 episodes are important parts of South Park but now most likely they will be lost to time as new generations of South Park fans won't know they exist
Yeah this whole thing was a weird grey situation as on one hand completely scrubbing the existence of the episodes (and all related to it) is a terrible move on Comedy Central part, but on the other hand I can understand the censorship due in combination of the major culture divide between Western culture and Muslim domniated society, controversy surrounding the depiction of Mohommed in media and the very real death threats that was present at the time that convinced the network to pull that move for safety reasons.
if you look very closely in the Intro Song you can also see Muhammed he's like trying to find Waldo I won't say where he is but he's there. Edit: Before I get 'OH I'm Lying He's in the Opening of the Modern opening song, and is near the very end Good luck finding him.

Listen guys, if yall would actually pay attention to the actual content and not just follow the drama blindly, you would be able to come up with valid opinions. Its not wrong to be a fan of Ceric Artman. You can watch both Johnny and Ceric. Blooms was the one that started it and while I agree with him, I dont judge or have anything against fans of Ceric. If you just want some background noise going on while you eat or work from home or whatever then fair enough. If you actually appreciate substance then you might have noticed that Johnny weighs in with his opinions, does research on behind-the-scenes on goings about the episodes the video is about and provides interesting information like how the South Park team reacted to the controversy, why they did it, studio and public perception, basically stuff you might that you might find cool to know about a show that you like. Ceric Artman videos are basically just re-caps of the episode they're talking about. I could just watch the actual episode instead of video essay thats the same length as the episode that provides no other information other than what happens in that episode. Johnny talks about other stuff and thats why I prefer this channel. I couldnt care less if I find out he uses AI as well. He also does more than useless re-caps. He has discussions with Tariq which has many relevant opinions and info a true fan would find interesting. No hate towards any fans of Ceric Artman. Tho if you have an opinion on why you prefer one over another, perhaps provide some insight on why instead of just "JOHNNY2CELLOS RELEASES MANY VIDEOS FAST TOO HE STINKS".
I'm finding out right now that there is drama and I follow Johnny on Instagram and have notifications on for this channel and Cartoons that curse. So, it's that big of a deal? Sometimes Internet drama is like gossip, the best way to stop it is to not engage.

So at 4:42 there's a few celebrities I can't make out, if anyone could help that'd be awesome!! Starting from the left I see:
OJ, Russell Crowe, Bono, Michael Jackson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Billy Bob Thornton, the next 2 I'm not sure, Liza Minnelli, not sure, Martha Stewart, Kanye, Stallone, Ben Affleck, Paris Hilton, not sure, Mel Gibson, David Blaine, next 3 I don't know (plus a 4th I can barely see), the Pope, and Phil Collins
Brooke Shields is next to Mel Gibson and that is Gary Condit behind her.
@robtheoutsider hahaha thanks!!
@@maxrichard2244 That is Francis Ford Coppola on the couch next to Martha Stewart and I believe that is Winona Ryder next to John Travolta
In my opinion, Muhammad's very name being censored kinda adds to it. He is so untouchabke the kids cant even say his name out loud without it being censored
8:05 kills me every time I hear it.
The episodes are always available through the pirate sites. 'Banning' an episode doesn't work, they basically just demonetized their own content, it's their loss.
I never saw the speech from the end of the episode - only the long bleep. Thanks for sharing it.
As Paramount pulled 200 and 201 from the UK DVD release, they realized people would just buy the Blu-ray and watch from there and they were not gonna let people outside of the US see the banned episodes, so they also went as far as region locking the Season 14 Blu-ray to only work in Region A
However it really wouldn’t work as some also owned region free players
There’s an interview on CNN with Seth Macfarlane and Penn Jillette about this episode I recommend watching, it kinda shows the difference between Seth’s values and Trey & Matt’s
Crazy to have this episode ready for release right after the UHC CEO
I thought this too
We just need to see Scott Tenorman again I swear it’ll be such a breath of fresh air.
Allthough banned those 2 are some of my favorites south park episodes, they are basically a grand celebration of what south park is
Johnny posted 3 videos in a week, he must be an AI channel!!!!
I have episodes 200-201 unedited on a flash drive
This is sadly the most clips I've ever seen of these episodes in one place.
16:56 be careful man dont get that taken down, loose lips sink ships
Such a shame Comedy Central bended knee to the violent threats, To this day I feel like it’s rarely discussed how that’s just “OK” that religion acts that way about drawings lmao
1:15 if you can't even pull your ID out when you get to the club you don't need a fancy new wallet, you need to call a taxi cuz you're already drunk.
Theres heaps of episodes missing from Paramount streaming, more than just these 5.
What else? SP isn't on Paramount in the US it's still on Max
@Johnny2Cellos in Australia at least, s1e4, not without my anus, s4e14, s06e02, s06e07, s07e01, s07e04, s09e08, s09e12, s16e4, s17e6, and then the other 2 parters you already mentioned. I might have missed some, I just did a quick scan of the seasons. Most relate to a certain topic related to Kyle.. so not sure if they were a recent removal.
There was also one episode but I can't remember what it was called that's not in the episode lists but does play via autoplay if you search the previous one lol, one of the Obama episodes.
@@Johnny2CellosI did respond to this but my comment has been deleted for some reason..
Um, big gay al from season 1, not without my anus, cancelled, trapped in the closet, ginger cow, jewpacabra, I can't remember the rest now lol, blame RUclips comments! There's about 10 more than just these 5.
That's just in Australia though, so not sure if regional issue, although I think I saw a Canadian comment when I went hunting for why saying it's the same there.
@@Johnny2Cellosmy comments keep getting deleted for some reason lol, there's like 10 more than these 5.. I've listed them twice but the topic might be getting the comments nuked. Google episodes missing from paramount and there's a little info. Might be regional, I've seen Australia (me) and Canada mention it...
The Streisand effect went so HARD back in the day, when this was the news
I forgot they killed Pip!
First time watching 201 I thought all the censoring was part of the joke. Like I burst out laughing when Kyle's speech at the end is just entirely bleeped. Wasn't until later I learned it wasn't intended to be that way.
This is the least censored i’ve seen him be on youtube you brave soul
Having watched 200 and 201 as they aired feels special.
i hope mat and trey know that there are people out there (myself included) who appreciate 200 and 201 exactly how they hoped it would be. as a huge south park fan it was honestly even more exciting to have to search and deep dive into the pirating world to find this gem of a south park episode packed with lore. yes i am drunk but it genuinely made my day to finally watch these plot lines i’ve loved come together so perfectly
I feel like I watched these because I was in high school at that point but I don’t remember watching the premiere. Maybe I did. Did they okay these a few times before banning them?
Where can i watch the episode uncensored?
It explains which side Cartman’s evil side comes from.
I love Randy Marsh’s spot on impression of Trey Parker 😮 👌
JC2, have you heard that news that The Titles to the First 10 Episodes of the ‘King of the Hill’ Revival Seem to Have Leaked?
I didn’t! Will check that out!
I love that I got to see those episodes on TV when I was younger. I looked forward to every Wednesday night when a season of South Park was out.
I can’t believe they hid Pip’s death from us… and Cartman’s real dad, I guess.
These episodes are still available on the original print DVDs
Yes but 201 is still censored there!
@Johnny2Cellos
Where can I watch these episodes I really want see them
my father owns these episodes on dvd, HUGE flex for him
Does anyone know where to watch both? I've only been able to watch 200, but not 201.
search south park:uncensored on google, its all there
I haven't watch them yet wish I can find them
How does anybody know what he even looks like if you aren't allowed to show him anywhere?
Damn, spot-on to do this episode with that speech after the UHC CEO's recent death since already other insurance companies have taken a few steps back on being super evil.
All I've seen is them being more anonymous with their info. AFAIK, their policies haven't changed.
At the time of release, 200/201 was clearly intended to be a Trilogy... the previews for the season showed clips of a second Ginger uprising lead by Cartman, which would have made sense after Mr.Tenorman was revealed to be Cartman's Father.
I remember seeing, somehow, an unbleeped version of this episode complete with the "Violence solves everything" triple monologue at the end
This was just a ploy to restart the Streisand Effect. Well played Johnny Well Played
The Hall of Honor having the kid who died giving the morning announcements is fucking hilarious.
Love this video! these episodes are so great
Your South Park videos are always top tier. I really enjoyed this, thank you. 🥰
Yep I mentioned this, but 201 is still censored!
The benefits of early DVD ownership.
or pirating..
@@DrSpaceman42201 W right here
I have the seasons 11-15 Blu-ray set and 200 and 201 are on there.
'Tom Cruise won't come out of the closet" is the best line in South Park history!
