Every story I hear on this channel is such an eye opener, alot of America I feel has forgotten the sacrifices our military goes through. I would love to say this has been my favorite one so far, but I say that about every video I watch on this channel. Thank you for your service. I truly am grateful for everything you and all of the other current/vets do to maintain our freedom here in the states !!

Much love Chris. I agree with you and that’s why we started the channel, we hoped we could bring the sacrifice and incredible stories of our veterans back into the forefront of our countries people.
Thank you so much for your comment. It means a lot.

Edgar, thank you for your service soldier. I loved the story about the guard tower and your decision to engage the op's. A 240B-oss is a nice way to say hello ain't it? Man, thank you again. Keep seeking the help you need for your PTSD related issues there ain't no shame in asking for help my man. Live long and prosper. SemperFi.

Hell Edgar was a badass from the get go! PFC taking the initiative in the absence of proper guidance! haha I bet once his experience was honed he was a kickass squad leader! Went with them when he could have got out and went home. Thanks!

Every time I hear one of these interviews with another vet having PTSD it is just gut wrenching and solidifies that change is needed in post indoctrination when separating. I don’t know if the agenda is to protest war or to show the frailty of our troops but want to make clear that our guys are hard AF.. I think the major issue is the military is using post endoc that was used in peacetime and needs to be updated majorly. We as soldiers, sailors and airmen are conditioned to the horrors of war and the transition to civilian life during wartime should not and cannot be immediate. It needs to be gradual which is why statistically troops who get out at 2-4 years of service are more likely to experience PTSD than one who separated after 8 and up. They have time to process after returning deployment and the return to civilian life is a gradual process instead of going straight to work for “Best Buy” after a state of high mental alertness.. in my experience I got out after I did my 4 and seen my share of bad things and it wasn’t PTSD that I suffered from. It was having zero self worth. You come from and environment where you have status to one that you are starting over which puts a huge block on your shoulder towards working for anyone. You think everyone is a dumbass and end up job hopping. Then you spend the next 10 years regretting getting out wishing you stayed in to retire. Anyway my point is I think the military can reduce the cases of PTSD by updating the separation process to involve a gradual release and better education of what what type of feelings and guilt to expect.. my thoughts..

You hit the nail on the head brother! Having done nearly 100 of these interviews in the last 12 months I've learned it's not just combat that makes the transition difficult. It's exactly what you stated "conditioned to the horrors of war..." We are conditioned into warriors starting the first day of basic training and when you decide to get out its "see ya, good luck." From one day to the next your identity is gone. Feel free to holler at me anytime on IG @urbanvalortv Thank you for your feedback.

    Edgar,
Thanks for sharing your story. I pray with each passing day you get better. Replace anything negative or that brings a certain degree of uncomfortability with activities that will bring you happiness and that will help you. Replacing situations from negatives to the positives. If the VA doesn't do it, go somewhere else. I have not been to the VA since I left the Marines some 30 years ago. I wish you and your family the very best of health and happiness and that you get better.
