Honestly it was a decent ending with a terrible execution. Like the idea that Harrison kills him in the end is decent but the way it all happened was so rushed. One episode should have been all about Angela catching Dexter and him trying to escape and another episode should have been about Dexter and Harrison and building up to him killing Dexter. But this was like one minute they are all chill and the next he decides to kill him 😏 the acting and the dialogues just did not feel right..

I'm literally so disappointed... As many other people said, this season started so well, I was so excited and so happy to meet the new characters, to see how Dexter's been doing all this time and finally meet Harrison. Episode 9 was amazing and I literally didn't even think that they could ruin all of this with the last episode which was supposed to be...Idk, a good one?! I didn't hate or love the ending of season 8, I just took it for what it was but this one...This one really made me mad. You're telling me that Angela, a little cop from a city forgotten by the world put everything into pieces in just some days or weeks? She wasn't capable to solve any case and she solved the biggest case from Miami? This whole thing was bad written. Dexter lived in Miami for so many years, was a serial killer there and never got caught even tho some people suspected him, they did it after YEARS of knowing him. Laguerta trying to figure out if Dexter is the Bay Harbour Butcher was waaaaay better than Angela doing it. Not to mention the fact that Angel just got along with what Angela said, not even questioning it, just went along with everything when he knew Dexter for so many years!! Harrison was such a hypocrite, he nearly killed that boy and blamed everything on him to be a hero, wanted to hurt other people and then after hearing what Dexter did he just chose to kill him? Like, I get that Dexter didn't want that for his child, he chose to leave him with Hannah (which reminds me, We never even found for real what happened to her, just went along with that Harrison said but at this point, I just think he killer her and lied.) to have a better life and now Harrison blames him for that when he wasn't even happy to know his dad better? Like c'mon you could've just idk, never came in the first place. The actors did a great job like always but this whole ending is just pissing me off so bad.

I think that a really interesting bit of foreshadowing featured in this episode, is when Harrison receives his new varsity jacket from Logan. I think that this change of jacket, represents far more than a simple outfit change, i think that it represents Harrison’s true moral alliances in the series. When Harrison switches the jacket that his father gave him for the one that Logan gifted him, it foreshadows his future actions in the episode.

Completely agree! I think Batista should have seen Dexter face to face. At that point, Dexter could have unloaded who he really was, giving Batista closure as well. I also hated that he killed Logan. I know a lot of people think Doakes deserved justice, but Doakes was always an ass, so it made it easy to dismiss his death. Logan was so genuine and pure. His death absolutely villainized Dexter. That isn’t Dexter. Then the reading of the note attempts to give Dexter redemption as a person. I just think they could have resulted in a similar ending but with more care to details. I’m also torn on wanting a second season. In one way, yes, of course. Anything to hopefully get more Dexter. In another way, no. Harrison seems free and seeing him in that last episode softened my heart towards Harrison. I don’t want to see him become a new Dexter. Clyde wasted so much of this season on absolutely nothing. Angela suspected Dexter as the BHB with almost zero evidence. Which was also a huge stretch how she put the puzzle pieces together. It would have been better if Dexter had just confessed his sins to Harrison and then Harrison tells Audrey. Matt's screw found in Dexter's cabin was better evidence linking his murder than the so called Ketamine needle mark. I never realized drug users/dealers would never have needle marks.
Why did they show Lundy's face as someone who died because of Dexter. Trinity killed Lundy before Dexter knew who Trinity was. It's small, but just another plot hole.

@@TeflonTv All of the time spent on that nonsense could’ve been spent developing the story they were actually trying to tell. How the most prolific serial killer of all time gets brought down by his son. So much wasted time with the NY trip, the dumbest podcaster ever, too much time spent on the runaways. Old Dexter used to develop tension and relationships in one episode more than Dexter and Harrison did in an ENTIRE season that was supposed to be about their relationship. Things that need exposition got none and things that didn’t were over explained like Harrison’s final speech to Dexter. Why make Harrisons reaction to dismembering Kurt ambiguous? Can you imagine the tension of Harrison had flipped out? With Dexter HAVING to deal with that AND coming back to a burned down house? Simple things could’ve made this show a whole lot better. Missed opportunity for a reboot to be the best series ending ever. The elements were there but somehow writers always get caught up in themselves and their feelings and miss the whole mark. I’m glad I got a little more Dexter in my life, but he was literally the ONLY good thing about the show (and Deb. I get it, everyone loves and respects Clancy but imo he was only okay as Kurt.

This last episode seems a bit rushed. I agree…Dexter was careful for so many years. To be figured out so easily is not satisfying. Also, Angela all of a sudden becomes the great detective. The fact that she couldn’t identify a serial killer and missing women in a small town, but she pieced together Dexter’s crimes is a plot rush. She also needed Dexter’s assistance with Iris’s body.
I will say that the ending has set Dexter up to run for many more years. I wonder if they will rename the show since Dexter will not be the main character. Also, Harrison could have a love child in the future.

@@Daminionz I like that they wrapped up Harrison's story. He was traumatized just like Dexter, but wasn't taught the code, even though Dexter broke it many times anyway. And I agree about not caring to see any more of Harrison. The fact is Harrison didn't want to be like Dexter but yet still killed anyway. And two wrongs don't make a right. But who knows if Harrison stops there. They killed Dexter off because they didn't want to keep repeating the same plot of him always on the verge of getting caught. So I assume they wouldn't want Harrison to come back with the not so shocking news that's he turns out just like his dad and kills too. Cause that would be too predictable and an endless cycle, which they obviously tried to break by killing Dexter off. Harrison would be better off getting therapy and not having children of his own that he can mess up with his baggage.

But at the end of S8 of Dexter, Batista and Quinn kinda figured out that Dexter killed Daniel Vogel not because of self defense but because of revenge. After Dexter 'Died' Batista could've probably continued Laguerta's research and possibly figured out that Dexter was at least a suspect. Now that he knew Dexter was alive and the pattern of the bay harbor butcher is back, Angel would've figured out that Dexter indeed was a seriel killer. I am glad that Batista never met the Bay Harbour Butcher.

Then Angel being called and then picks up a file and says he is on his way... and then... that's it with him? Really? And the lack of any concrete evidence that would stand up in court making Dexter that desperate that he felt the need to kill a cop to escape? And that Logan went out the way he did? If you consider the ending from a "heroes journey" perspective, it’s a fantastic ending. I’m not saying you have to like it, it’s just an ending that brings the story arc to a natural conclusion.
From the very first episode of the OG, Dexter has really been about a sociopath and a serial killer trying to be human-convincing himself that he is doing something noble when in fact he is a monster.
The natural ending to the OG should have been Deborah killing him. Shortly after discovering the truth-and struggling to reconcile that in her head she should have realized he needed to be put down. Dexter would have allowed her to kill him because he feels love for the first time.
In new blood, it is Harrison that takes on that role. Deeply flawed himself, and wanting so desperately to have a relationship with his father. But in the end realizing that this needs end. For Dexter‘s part, he finally feels love. He does something truly selfless by letting his son kill him so Harrison can be free. Dexter finally becomes accountable for his crimes and is revealed as a true Bayharbor Butcher.
This is the only ending that could’ve happened to be consistent with good storytelling. Dexter manage to grow as a human being while at the same time being accountable for the pain and suffering he caused.
As an audience member, we get to take a very painful look in the mirror. For years we have been rooting for him celebrating everything he does and justifying as he bends the rules of his own code.
In the final moments of this series, we are with Harrison. Realizing that his code is total bullshit. It was used to justify aberrant and violent behavior and we the audience did the same exact thing as we cheered him on for all those years. This is reminiscent of a very religious person using dogma (the code) To justify violent or immoral behavior.
The ending is uncomfortable, totally predictable but also inevitable. It's no different than something Charles Dickens would write. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Dexter's final monologue just before Harrison shoots him was modeled after a Tale of Two Cities-"It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to, than I have ever known."

Everything was circumstantial, no die hard evidence. He could have been easily said Kurt set him up after realizing he was killing all the girls after they found Iris.
Bishop knows that he found Molly going to his cabin, so that’s something he could have stood on. As far as the Bay harbor butcher, they still had no die hard evidence. M99 was not available in Iron Lake. It is less about what drug was used, but about what drug Dexter bought a lot of, and what was found at the crime scenes in Iron Lake that he was present at. Also, jabbing people in the neck with a needle before killing them was always his calling card, and that showed up in every Bay Harbor Butcher case.

Show time hates us! I’m convinced! I was better n made peace with how season 8 ended bc I knew at the end he was alive and still out there, but they made this all about addiction and his inner demons and accepting the lives he has ruined… iron lake was symbolic n had (irony) in it. Almost like karma they ruined the show for me not once but twice and missed out explaining so many plot holes and we still didn’t see him face Miami metro for any of his actions. Also I think a season two was warranted and that should have been dexter on the loose in full relapse mode going against his own code n realizing he’s a killer regardless of code that’s something Brian his brother tried to tell him always was to forget the code n accept they are how they are… this season was a big tease

I feel like Harrison has been ballsy and butting heads with Dexter most of the season, so that didn't seem out of character to me. I really would have loved to have seen Bautista and Dexter see one another face to face. One thing I haven't heard people talk about is the full letter voiceover as Harrison is driving away. All season, Harrison seemed so confused and angry about why Dexter abandoned him and like he was to blame. But everything was pretty clear in that letter once we heard it in full. That, combined with the random white deer overlay while he was talking to Logan, indicates that he could have been there for sinister reasons all along.

After watching 9 great episodes this finale fell very flat.
The evidence Angie had on Dexter was circumstantial at best. She had more evidence against Kurt when she arrested him for Iris' murder.
They were already piecing together that Kurt likely burned down Dexter's home using the gas truck and that created a lot of reasonable doubt on where the titanium screw came from. Someone conveniently placed this in your mailbox and oh look, here's one a your boyfriend's house too...coincidence? No
It definitely wasn't like Dexter to kill Logan, at that point I think he was rushing and not thinking clearly, with a one track mind to get to Harrison.
It felt slightly out of place that Harrison killed Dexter in the end but they've been showing all season how easily Harrison can be manipulated and influenced. He may not have known Logan long but he knew he was a good person and didn't fit "the code".
Overall I enjoyed this season but like many I feel the finale was a bit rushed. It should have played out a bit differently still ending with Dexter's demise so Harrison can move on.

What bothered me the most about the episode was that it was inconclusive. It didn't feel like it was finished and it felt very rushed. It never shows who sent the screws, what happens when they look for Kurt, they didn't even allow Angel enough time to show up with LaGuerta's info. Also, for Angel to say that he believed it was Dexter is far fetched too because he never even knew back then. It all seemed like quite a stretch so if they don't have the show continuing I find this ending to be alot worse than the original.

And for Angela it looks so strange to solve the BHB case when she can't solve a 25-years murdering problem for more than 30 victims in 2,500 town... There's no much time for Batista, it should be a 2-hours episode, so rushed ending. It would be great If a billionaire would be with Kurt together and in this episode he would've killed Audrey. • @Mayfloweralways

My biggest issue was that Harrison went from “your Batman” to “you’re scum” in one episode. And no matter what, he’s just a kid. He’s so angry about being being left but clearly was told that Dexter was the one with issues and that he didn’t want Harrison to be effected by his “demons.” Even if Harrison may not have liked it, I would think he would actually *better* understand it by this episode. Add to that what he’s been saying all along with Dex not even being around, that he thinks about hurting people all the time, that there’s something wrong with him- he was glad to have Dexter tell him everything. Yet he acted as if he had no understanding of why Dexter was the way he was. Nothing added up to the way Harrison behaved at the end. Being angry is one thing. But shooting his own father through the heart, even if he told him to, is another. Again, he’s just a kid. And I also don’t recall Dexter being so willing to cause an innocent person’s death as he did with Logan. It’s been almost 10 years, maybe I forgot, but Dexter didn’t do something like that before. I just felt like character motivations to justify the ending completely fell apart. And what was with how vicious Angela was? You would’ve thought Dexter killed Iris, the way she acted. When he actually rushed to help her when she called and gave her the most important evidence to be had. The whole “don’t you say her name!” Seemed cheesy

The greatest writing I've done, said Clyde. God, I hope not, thinks myself.
The finale of season 8 and the finale of New Blood are on a collision course of meeting in the history bin of shitty endings. At least the season 8 finale only tainted the ending for those who hated it. The end of New Blood already reflects an equal amount of hatred based on early rating the episode returns but with a much larger problem.
The ending of New Blood,, for all who hate it, has tainted the entire series. Rewatch binges prior to New Blood had no shadow of despair hanging over them, not like Dexter's death by Harrison now darkens all nine seasons. Many who once enjoyed watching old episodes will now dwindle as they won't care to be reminded of Dexter's demise whilst trying to enjoy Harrison's birth.
Clyde wanted to end the series with a bow on top...instead he cut it into 9 pieces like Dexter's victims, stuffed them in garbage bags and left them in the open to rot before our eyes.

I don't think Harrison was out of character in the ending when he was talking to Dexter before killing him. If you watch the scene where Dexter kills Kurt, you can see that Harrison is not fully convinced that he is making the right choice by following his father's steps. Yes, he said he wanted to learn the code, but his attitude really changed after he had to watch an actual murder, and how Dexter had to dismember Kurt's body parts in order to hide the body. After that episode, i felt like Harrison just needed a little push for him to not want to follow his father's "legacy", so I kind of expected this ending, even though I didn't really liked it, and would've liked to see Dexter go through the death penalty. It wasn't a great ending, but it made sense.

    • @conymachucamorales1588
      @conymachucamorales1588 3 года назад

@Frank Lucas I get why you're saying that, but you have to think about the scene where Kurt is killed by Dexter. Dexter starts to talk about how Kurt says he kills people to help them when in reality he just does it because of power, which obviously applies to him as well and you can see Harrison's expressions and how he is already kind of regretting helping Dexter.
About the 'killing his own father' situation, I personally think letting him go was not an option because Harrison was abandoned his whole life by Dexter, so it was either making Dexter pay for what he's done or leaving with him. That's why I think Kurt's murder scene was so important, that was the moment when Harrison realized that his dad was probably doing it for power and not for justice, and that same situation could easily make him think about all the consequences Dexter's killings may have caused (and most importantly, Deb and Rita's deaths).
My theory is that he starts to think about this situation after that scene but tried to see the good in Dexter because he was abandoned by him his whole life and his father was the only family member remaining, but after he realized Dexter killed Logan just to escape (and it's important that Logan was the one who was murdered because he was sort of a father figure to him), when he confirms that the code is just a way to justify what his father does, and realizes that he really is the villain.
Again, I don't agree with the ending but at the same time I kind of expected it because after watching episode 9, it really made sense.

Good review but the only point you missed is Dexter called Harrison from Logan's phone not Harrison calling Logan. I think Harrison's attitude in the end was Harrison played Dexter all along especially when you see the scene where it looks like Harrison saw Dexter kill Matt Caldwell. But in the end, I was really hoping for a second season with Michael C Hall as Dexter or a new alias in a new place. If the announcement is Hobo Harrison taking over, I am not sure because like Harrison even admitted his anger is over Dexter not a "Dark Passenger". You can see him kind of smile even now knowing Dexter was dead. My mind is still processing it but they said at one point Dexter will get the ending he deserves, and it felt like death is what he deserved. But they could have had more episodes to not have to rush and wrap up loose ends. Also maybe sneak in another cameo to go with Batista. It they hadn't made Dex die at the end, it's certain that fans would have continued to want his return to the series no matter his age. What a bullshit ending. The decision to kill Logan was totally out of character and unnecessary because everything Angela had was completely circumstantial, it didn’t connect in anyway other than needle pricks from the BHB case, seeing that he used ketamine this time nothing connected. He should have let Logan live, gotten a lawyer and beat the case.
What I wanted to see was Batista take Dexter back to Miami, have him confess and go on trial as the BHB. Dexter in prison finally being able to drop his mask like all those discussions with Doakes previously about turning himself in. Instead, Harrison kills Dexter, Amgela gives him money for some reason, just so anti-climatic, glad I resubscribed showtime for this bullshit. ,

I don't know why Dexter didn't get Logan's side arm with his other hand. He could of easily forced his way out of the jail without murdering an innocent and very nice guy... The writer was saying that this is his best story? There was so much blood underneath Mr.Morgan when he was shot, looked terminal. I cannot believe that it's over like this... Reminds me of loads of unsatisfactory character deaths in loads of shows. Dexter didn't look like the calm, calculated badass at all in this episode. Announcement tomorrow and I am guessing that it's for a Season 2 with the ghost guiding Harrison, but this is an abomination to the narrative and history of the character... Father and son don't know eachother at all, how is it really possible for them to communicate with barely any experience of eachother? Overall a solid show, and the ending is again the weakest link. Set the internet on fire? Only if the earth falls into the sun.

Bull. Sh** ending. Instead of them wasting episode time trying to mislead us (unless details like the billionaire character or Harison telling his girlfriend he likes to hurt people will be essential for a later season), they could have focused more on the build-up between the focal characters, gotten details like "M99" correct, not forcing dialogue like Angela assuming Iris was Kurt's first kill without having investigated him hardly at all, condemning Dex based on circumstantial evidence, and having dialogue that would have added to the intensity, such as between Dex and Miami Metro. She didn't think to ask Batista about Dex before he got arrested? Really?? Yeah okay. It would have been a gasping moment had Miami Metro shown up to the station after Dex just killed Logan or having him in a headlock between the bars or some kind of pop up while still in custody. And what was on Molly's camera? There are just too many issues I had with this season, but even through the obvious flaws, I still loved this season... Up until the scene with Harrison and Dex in the woods. There have been 8 years between Season 8 and now. There was no excuse to rush it like this. They knew Dexter fans were going to dissect this season... And don't get me started on crybaby Harrison. Executing a parent in the woods because he was mad will probably haunt him for the rest of his life if he doesn't have the same darkness Dexter had attached to him and if he really wanted to turn himself in, he would have insisted and waited around. Not be shooed off by Angela. And who can explain to me why Harrison sliced a guy unprovoked at school because he was angry with his dad? Really? Because Harison pretended to be his friend, isolated him, and then attacked him. So that was okay then? Hmmm... seems pretty calculating, not impulsive, to me. Maybe Harrison should admit to that crime since he thought himself righteous enough to kill his own dad. I could go on and on but ANNOYED is how that ending left me.

One of the worst things I have seen in my life. In actuality the episode was going well until the last 15 minutes. Dexter is smart and methodic as always and plays Angela well during some nicely written investigation scenes. Once dexter sends Angela to Kurt's basement with the bodies, the writing goes downhill. Dexter behaves like he isnt dexter. Harrison behaves like he isnt Harrison. Some are saying fans are upset because Dexter was killed. Please, we are not upset because they killed Dexter. We are upset that they killed Dexter in such a lazy fashion. A series with so much potential completely crashed down in the last 15 minutes. They ruined the legacy of one of the greatest characters and completely turned him into a clown. Yes he behaves like an absolute clown, and then makes his son a killer. I wish I had never watched this.
    Summary: An absolute disgrace!!

  • @mikegold1910
    @mikegold1910 3 года назад +2

The Ending of New Blood was horrible.
The writers made Angela into a bad reincarnation of Maria LaGuerta, who was definitely a more formidable adversary, acting in complete contravention to everything about her character. After discovering the remains of her friend Iris, who disappeared 25 years ago sparking her career in law enforcement, rather than pursue Kurt Caldwell as she promised after he walked out of her station, Logan relayed that "Jim" was in an altercation with the dealer that sold the drugs that almost killed Harrison!
Rather than Angela taking the normal approach to hearing her boyfriend fighting with a dealer that supplied kids in her town with drugs containing lethal amounts of Fentanyl, a party her daughter went to with her friends, she miraculously transformed into to some suspicious seasoned investigator that inexplicably thought this was so extraordinary she must find this dealer to question him about Dexter! Nevermind that she caught him at the same bar selling more drugs! Forget about Iris, her killer who is the unofficial mayor of Iron Lake, the Wall of missing young women, and the fact that a prolific serial killer has been active throughout her entire career in law enforcement. And especially forget she had no suspicion whatsoever that her boyfriend was a prolific serial killer.
So now that we have established that she has no interest in arresting the dealer that's selling drugs in the same bar, despite Logan saying they could tie him to 16 fatal overdoses, he doesn't just state the obvious that Jim beat him up. He mentions that he poked him in the neck. So Angela rushes over to the autopsy in progress of the supplier and amazingly catches the mark on the neck that a medical examiner missed! Mind you, this is the same person that called Dexter in to examine Iris for clues about Iris producing the DNA that landed Kurt in jail.
The conclusion that a supplier of drugs containing lethal amounts of fentanyl died from a fentanyl overdose was not enough because LaGuerta (I mean Angela) was now working the Bay Harbor Butcher case! The Iron Lake disappearances can take a hike. The examiner explains he had Ketamine in his system and explains that it is a club drug, but LaGuerta (I mean Angela) knows that this must be the work of the Bay Harbor Butcher! Move over, Special Agent Frank Lundy... Dexter has met his match!
Armed with these compelling clues, Chief Bishop goes on a Google search for Bay Harbor Butcher + Ketamine. Rather than returning no relevant search results, the writers gave us the biggest plot hole in existence, because M99 magically becomes Ketamine. She then pays a visit to the local vet discovering "Jim" grabbed some for his goat!
So Kurt Caldwell decides to pop up on Christmas, leading to "Jim" suddenly having to go, and she thinks nothing of it. He leaves the titanium screws and a note that says "Jim" killed Matt! Then decides to drive a damn fuel truck to his house, spray gasoline all over a lit cabin as if any occupants wouldn't notice, and climb aboard it to snipe "Jim" as he abandoned his burning cabin. In what world would that make any sense?
As soon as Episode 10 opened and LaGuerta (I mean Angela) said she was going to stick around the scene, I knew she'd walk over, see something, and pick up a titanium screw! Why Dexter would have even kept this is even dumber. This whole ridiculous storyline was as bad as Maria LaGuerta shunning the cameras, noticing a broken piece of glass inside a vent that miraculously wasn't covered in soot or debris, and suddenly becoming determined to find the Bay Harbor Butcher!
Needless to say, she doesn't decide to talk to her lover and boyfriend about it or bring him in for questioning, she waits till dinner time at her house, after a hug, to draw a gun on him and haul him down to the station in cuffs. Furthermore, she knows unequivocally that he's the Bay Harbor Butcher. There's absolutely no way she could ever hold Dexter on this much less get an indictment. No district attorney would take this to a jury. She even acknowledged it wouldn't hold up!
The kicker is that Batista gets two whole minutes of screen time and worse, they show this to the audience knowing we will never get to see Batista's arrival, a reunion of sorts with Dexter, or any of it. Batista never believed Dexter was the Bay Harbor Butcher even when LaGuerta was gunning for him and even after her death. It is absurd to see he has her old case files (that should be in evidence and would amount to boxes on the Butcher case) sitting on his desk 10 years after Dexter supposedly died like he's still working the case. The fact Dexter lived would not be enough for Batista to grab the folders and fly to Iron Lake to go after Dexter. There's nothing in those old case files that would tie Dexter to any of it.
So rather than call a lawyer or get some sleep till his inevitable release from custody, Dexter decides to do the dumbest thing in the world and try to escape! He sends LaGuerta (I mean Angela) to uncover the victims of Kurt Caldwell and attacks Logan, who chooses death over just letting "Jim" flee. Dexter somehow thinks incriminating himself and murdering a cop will allow him to have a life with Harrison when in reality it would open up a nationwide manhunt that would be sensationalized by LaGuerta (I mean Angela) accusing him of being the Bay Harbor Butcher and the national spotlight on the murders of Kurt Caldwell.
Harrison does an about face only after learning Dexter killed Logan to escape presumably wanting a normal life in Iron Lake. Angela could have sent Harrison to her house, but she gives him 20 dollars and tells him to leave town! She wouldn't even say goodbye to Audrey for him. He kills his only living parent and loses everything that he wanted anyway. Why Dexter wouldn't have just fled and left Harrison as he had done before would have made more sense. Angela showing up here made no sense. She left two crime scenes to go search for Dexter at his burned down cabin?
The end of Season 8 was perfectly fine. The only person Dexter loved was dead, he pulled the plug on Deborah and took her body out to sea, driving his boat into a major hurricane. He should have ended there. The fact he survived and exiled himself to Montana was better than this ending. I was nostalgic for the return, really liked the first few episodes, but despise the plot development and the conclusion. Dexter on death row would have been better than his son having to murder him out of wanting a normal life!?! No, Clyde Phillips. I have no interest in a Harrison spin off. He would end up really dying of a fentanyl overdose, which is what this ending felt like.

Definitely had an issue with the billionaire story. That a character was introduced that early and not developed, was rather weird. There's quite a number of ways they could have had this play out e.g there is this huge kidnapping and murder cartel him and Kurt are part of and Kurt was just the executioner/fall guy, Dexter digs deeper and goes further to kill the billionaire. Throw in 2 episodes to develop this and bingo! Still loved this season though, this was a way better ending than the previous.

They should have given way more time to the demise of Dexter after all this time getting to know the character. If they would have flushed out certain scenes in the finale better, with more time, I think the ending would have been more accepted. We all knew he was probably going to die, and deserved it. It was more with how they arrived there. All this season I was telling everyone I knew that it was worth getting into Dexter because this new season was so good. That finale also felt out of character for Angel. He loved Maria. Why would he make that presentation where he talks about Doakes being the Bay Harbor Butcher if he had his doubts regarding the case? Why let Maria down by not fighting to prove that what she believed to be true? So what if he thought Dexter was dead? If he had enough evidence to convict him, he still could've done it to help clean Doakes' and Maria's names.

I felt the last episode was rushed, but I'm satisfied. But I don't want another season with Dexter as Harrison's conscious. The kids ok but he can't carry a whole show. It seems fitting for Dexter to die (suicide or killed) or live and end up in prison. What I thought they did really well is finally make the audience feel against Dexter, not trust him, not make excuses; that was really clever, and I think that started last week with us really witnessing the chopping up of the body and him enjoying it. Also, we have grown attached to the townspeople, so it pissed me off when he killed Logan, his complete disregard for Angela and the realization he had zero feelings she was just a cover, his disdain, and narcissism. I wasn't smirking along; I wanted Angela to smack his face. I questioned, "Did you have to kill Logan, or was it just the quickest, most convenient option?" I never questioned his code or reasoning before, so I really liked that. For the first time, I didn't want him to get away. That was new. Part of me wished Harrison to shoot him in the leg and have him go to prison, proving there is another way. Murder doesn't always have to be the conclusion. Part of me wanted him to live, stay in prison either in Iron Lake or somewhere else, and become a mind hunter type situation the serial killer profilers go to. So he's doing the same thing, the hunt, the dissection, the analysis, but not on his terms. Also, he would be surrounded by murderers and rapists if he got an urge lol. But him dying is fine with me, but let this be the end. For good.

Once dex gave Harrison that rifle I had a huge feeling that’s where they were going with it. Putting dexter down somewhat in the same way Kurt killed his victims, and having Harrison get away alive. I think it’d have been better if he somehow got dexter on his own table and putting up pictures of Rita, laguerta, deb, and the others innocents that died as a result of what dexter does, but I understand it’d be hard for Harrison to get dexter on the table. You know what dexter could have really done that and got the keys from him. Logan’s death was just a plot device so they can kill dexter. Why did dexter had flashbacks of lundy he was not responsible for his death. It was like writer’s were trying so hard to justify dexter getting killed. We all know dexter was no saint but his death could have been handled much better than this.

Even an ending where Dexter just wakes up from his desk in Miami and realize it was all a dream would have been better then this.

The billionaire was simply a red herring they through in there during the early episodes prior to the show revealing that Clancy Browns character is in fact the big bad of the series. If you notice as soon as they reveal that Kurt is taking one of the girls to the underground hotel room he has they literally never show the billionaire again. He was only there as a possible option to throw us off on who the killer Ins since they were only doing close up shots of the eyes and hands etc. and him and Kurt are both older both have blue eyes but that was his only purpose. Great breakdowns … I totally agree - I think the little plots holes throughout could have been forgiven if they pulled off a great finale .. everyone was totally expecting Dexter to die but the way they did it didn’t make sense .. Dex had zero reason to try and escape … and if they were being true to Angel’s character he would have had Dexters back in the end regardless of him faking his death which isn’t a crime … really no reason he needed to fake his death in the first place honestly everyone in Miami was ok with him leaving the country in the first place Hannah was the wanted criminal not him.. there were a ton of small plot holes throughout but I think if they would have done this over two seasons or even 15 episodes might have given them more time to naturally flesh out Dexter being revealed but still a tough road to pull off since Dex in the past was pretty much always cleaning up perfectly and there is no trace of him being a murderer … would have been more plausible to just keep this Police Chief Bishop chick in the dark and have it be the natural relationship between him and Harrison once totally revealed and Dex trying to teach him the code .. Harrison seeing through it and turning out to not be as monsterous as his father and that alone pushing him over the line and decides to kill his dad or something… there is 1 million ways they could’ve done it they just needed to flush it out more for it to make sense and not have so many plot holes. No one is mad at him dying just like no one was really mad with Dexter living at the end of the original series they were mad with the way it was done I think they could’ve let Dexter live in the season and had to go on with Dexter and Harrison moving to another city and having that be successful but anyways good stuff man

Dexters actions don’t fit, facts don’t add nor does the storyline follow accurately. Something tells me this may have been a troll episode that really is some hallucination of sorts. Dexter is deliberate in his actions and would not have killed Logan otherwise. Fester has a perfect alibi and excuse to blame Caldwell. Especially knowing he was the serial killer Angela had been chasing for years. Or maybe this is the unraveling experienced by Dexter under extreme pressure knowing his son is involved?

I really enjoyed your videos throughout the season, the ending was predictable but it feels like closure, I hope Harrison gets a spinoff, after all, Dexter did make him a cold blooded killer.

I'm on PCT and watched your live stream, and the way folks described Dexter freaking out was more exciting than how it actually went down. I just don't think Micheal C Hall really was into doing this evidenced by lack luster acting.

I thought it was pretty good until the last 2 episodes. Angela's hatred for Dexter shouldn't have been stronger than it was for Kurt.

Wouldn't the authorities still look for Harrison. He's been in town for two weeks,Went to the school, "saved" his classmates. Was even on the wrestling team... I would think they'd have a few questions him..
