@@asliceofheavenhomestead3559 Watching all your vids right now, that was brave taking down the wall strips and taping/plastering! We will be moving into our first ever triple wide modular home, kind of excited about it! We have been in our Lake home since the 80/90s, should be fun, headed to Tennessee! Love the vids!
Wow u go woman . I have done back door on double wide years ago . Here I am at 56 years on my own a woman myself and needing to do it again on 2008 double wide I just bought . Thanks for your video was helpful .
About 2 inches. They don't have to be super long. Just make sure they are long enough to go through the frame and still have at least 1 inch to go into the jam.
I appreciate all the work you put into removing/installing new door. I also love the channel image, very nice! I will be removing my sunroom door very shortly and the issues you had I will keep them in mind! Thanks
You did such amazing job all the way through and you took time so we could really see every step, thank you so much for your video..I'm thinking about replacing my front combination door and this video really came in handy.😊
Thank you for that encouragement! I started this channel because I wanted to teach. I love hearing that it is doing just that 😉. Good luck on your project!
I really needed this video, as I am installing mine all by myself. Extremely helpful 👍 Thanks a million! Love seeing a woman do this more than anything it brought out my confidence.
@@chrissy1310 It went extremely well. The video got me back on track when I would've given up. Seriously this lady hits on each place i needed advice, or thought theres something I did wrong turns out was difficult for ANYONE with no experience. Watch the vid, while you are doing it. All teaching is a 3 step process ... Step 1 Show how its done... In our case watch the whole vid ...a few times if necessary Step 2 do it together,...in our case watch vid while doing it, Step 3 you do it on your own...towards the end and the next one I do probably wont need the vid.
😂 That is a totally legitimate question. The best that I can figure is that the people who lived in the house before we purchased it, must have had a barbecue grill up against the house. 😜, not too smart!
It took me a few hours because it was my first time, there were so many screws in odd places (the old door was broken and screwed shut), and I was working the camera. The second door that I did later in a different video, on took less than an hour from start to finish.
Good job! I have the same task coming. Door probably won't arrive until January, so it will be frozen finger time when it comes to doing the replacement. I was surprise to see you carry the door yourself. I'll be getting a 38"x78" door. I might be wrong but I was thinking I saw a weight of about 200 pounds? I was going to get a door with glass in it, but being a trailer door, I can imaging the difficulty in getting new glass if it gets broken. Probably have to purchase a whole new door if that happens.
It was heavy, but not 200 pound heavy. I would say around 100. I went with as much glass as possible because I love a bright house and a door can let in a lot of natural light. Good luck on your project!
@@asliceofheavenhomestead3559 Thank you, I’ll need it. I’ll have to see if I can get the truck delivery guy help me carry it up to me second floor deck(trailer front door is about 11 foot off the ground on the concrete foundation). I have a nice 12x40 elevated deck in front with stairs with a landing half way up feeding that deck. The door need macro get up there. Maybe if I offer him $20 he’ll help me heft it up there? Lol
@@asliceofheavenhomestead3559 Oh, and I’m still concerned about glass inserts. I will probably order a door today with glass bits it’s scary. I called the Mobile Home Supply company (found on internet, but their operators were too busy to answer the phone).
Yay! Practice makes perfect; door number two should be easy. We didn't get to see if the new door will open and close. Square and plumb? That caulk tape is great, for windows, too. One more good job checked off the list!
I found them at my local manufactured home store. They, unfortunately, were a bit more pricy than something at home depot, but I had no choice. The home depot doors did not come in the right size. This door cost about $450(home depot doors around $375),so it didn't break the bank 😏.
Honestly, it was my first time doing it, and there weren't any other videos for a manufactured home door. I wouldn't do it differently though. I wanted to make sure that the frame and door stayed aligned. If I took out the door while I was putting up the frame, I fear it may have warped and I would have a bigger mess to deal with once the frame was stuck to the wall. Yes, the for was heavy, but I could manage it by myself 😏.

Where do you women buy your doors?
On that storm door was there three screws on each side that hold the storm door to the jamb
Good question. I don't know if it came with those screws, but I did put some longer screws into it too secure it to the frame.
@@asliceofheavenhomestead3559oh ok what size screws did you use

Where'd you get your doors
I had to buy them from my local manufactured home supply store.
Where did you find your new doors? Did you have to special order them? How expensive were they?

Where did you purchase your door? Online or a local store? Needing a new front door but unsure of where to purchase. Thanks
I went to a local manufactured home dealer. A normal door at home depot would not have fit. I would research anything locally first.
why didn't u just take door out then you'd only have th frame to deal with it would b lighter by its self. just saying

Nice. I’m fixing to do mine. Save me some bucks hiring a Carpenter. Thank you
where did you find the putty tape? I have a door to put in and can't seem to find the tape(name of tape) from one Melanie to another :) ty
They had it at the local manufactured home store. I'm sorry, I have no idea if that putty strip is sold anywhere other than a manufactured home store.
Your doing great. I need you to come work on my house lol
