My swift 2 just arrived and i am very impressed. All the options, the zoom etc is so fun to play around with and the head strap works well too. Thank you for making such a good and affordable product nightfox team!!
Hey, thanks for getting in touch and letting us know you like your new Swift 2! Your comments really made my day! I hope you keep having fun out there, and please get in touch if you need anything. We are always happy to help!
I think digital night vision is the future. Yes, traditional night glasses, such PVS-14 now allow you to see further, but over time this difference will disappear, but there will be an advantage in price.
The Nightfox team think you're right Maxim! We continue to work on improvements to digital night vision and hope that, in the not too distant future, digital night vision will be on par with, and one day out perform analogue devices. You never have to worry permanently damaging digital night vision with light exposure, unlike the pricey analogue devices! All Nightfox digital night vision devices can be used in bright daylight as binoculars. Thank you for taking the time to leave your comment, we really appreciate it!
@@nightfoxnightvisionhey nightfox team I love your products, I left a comment on the video but just for extra exposure I think a panoramic night vision device would be very helpful for the budget community, maybe like 4 to 5 IR sensors to give a super wide view
This is great and im going to buy one but something that would be super helpful to the budgets community would be a panoramic version with 4 to 5 different sensors spread across the unti, if anyone else agrees please try and get this comment up there so that nightfox will see it. Im sure we would all love a product like that
Thank you for your great suggestion. We really do want a good budget panoramic design too, but at this time it is proving elusive. We do have the Prowl (head mounted monocular) that we are working on to be mounted as a dual tube in the future, which provides a really good depth of field. Thank you for your suggestion!

The Swift 2, Swift 2 PRO and Prowl all come with a G24 dovetail helmet mount included in the box! No need to buy another. I hope this helps and please let us know if you have any further questions!
That's exactly right! The Swift 2 PRO can record video on to the included micro SD card, and the Swift 2, and Swift can not record video. I hope this helps!
The Nightfox Red has now been discontinued and there are no firmware updates available for the Red. We still have the original Swift in stock, and we have an updated version of the Swift, the Swift 2 and Swift 2 PRO (the PRO can record video). I hope this helps answer your question.
Thanks for your question. The front lenses are all designed to be tough and - so far - we're not aware of any breaking incidents. However, we do sell a Swift 2 Service Pack for £12.99 ($16.99) which includes replacement IR lenses, camera lens and rear screen lens (plus a screwdriver) so all these parts are fully serviceable if any of them were to crack. I hope this helps!
I just received my yesterday and for $229US i am blown away by the value for the dollar spent. The various IR settings on the unit allowing you to see without seeing the red dot is fabulous. Yes I know if someone has a similar or better unit you are sitting duck but most of us cannot afford the PVS-14 so my comment is relative to a better than nothing statement. The rubber cup holds out any backlighting on the face and the standard head mount is very decent should you decide not to use a helmet. The clarity is decent very but not perfect. You can run with these on a known flat surface ie field or driveway but unlikely able to run and navigate in the woods. I would imagine if the frame rate was slightly better 60fps maybe but I am no expert here. Again for the value I would highly recommend these as a true entry level unit whereby you are not disappointed.
We're so glad to hear you are enjoying using your new Nightfox! We always strive to create the best value night vision devices without the eye-watering PVS-14 price tag and we're so pleased to hear you are benefiting from many of the features we chose specifically for those reasons, such as the rubber eye cup and extra supporting head mount. We will keep working on the rest, ie the screen refresh rate! Thank you for your feedback and have fun out there!
It would be good if you included/made a video showing how visible the headset is when on the highest setting. The ideal thing about NVG’s is being undetectable, so if you are easily visible to other people it defeats the purpose. If you could make a video, that would be great
Great suggestion Lewis! I will pass it along to the team. The Swift 2 has dual IR so it is able to be used for greater stealth with switching to 940nm IR, and it sensitive to ambient light at night. We will work harder on being able to better illustrate and demonstrate this in future videos. Thank you for your suggestion!
Great question! Yes, the Swift 2 and Swift 2 PRO does provide better peripheral view than the original Swift. The Swift 2 and Swift 2 PRO has a much wider field of view at 53.8 degrees, than the Swift which only has a field of view of 40 degrees. I hope this helps!
The head-mountable monocular Prowl will be available soon. If you want more info please sign up for our Nightfox newsletter to be kept up to date on our latest releases.

You can find the link to the firmware at the link below: nightfoxstore.com/pages/swift2-instructions-and-troubleshooting If you have any questions or issues let us know! We're always happy to help!
thank you for your suggestion! We are looking into the possibility of working on an analogue device in the future if we are able to find the right components at the right price range.
You have convinced me. I'm buying one. There is NO WAY I can afford a PVS-14, even a used one in so-so condition. I do, however, have one question...if I choose to mount one on a helmet (which apparently is no problem), will I need a counter-weight at the back of the helmet to balance everything out?
Great question! It depends on your own comfort when you are wearing your helmet with the device. As the Swift 2 and Swift 2 Pro can be used whilst charging via micro USB, you may wish to use a mobile charging USB power bank as a counter weight. Meaning you can boost the battery life and have a handy counter weight. I hope this information is helpful and please let me know if you have any other questions.
We reviewed the original swift in the video below…we look forward to trying these out and are excited about the new led option to reduce detection!! ruclips.net/video/mJQn8ozxE9A/видео.htmlsi=Dh9w3MptRZIDiCFz
Thanks for your great review of our Nightfox Swift! We hope you enjoy the new improved Swift 2 just as much! We are excited by the capabilities of the dual 850nm/940nm infrared option too. Now our devices have the best of both worlds; 850nm for the furthest viewing range at night and 940nm for increased stealth.
Yes, the Swift 2 and Swift 2 Pro are sensitive to ambient light at night and so can be used with the IR off, or with a low level of IR which will extend the battery life as well as increase your stealth at night. I hope this helps answer your question.
Great question! The Swift 2 lenses haven't been specifically tested to see if they withstand direct BBs strikes, but if this is a priority you may want to consider the Nightfox Prowl, which comes with extra protective lenses. I hope this is helpful and please let us know if you have any further questions.
Great question! Well, it really comes down to what you need, I'd say the main advantages of the Prowl are the adjustable dioptre, if you struggle to focus close up on the viewing screen then the Prowl is the best option for you. As it can be adjusted to personal focal length and the Swift 2 can not. The Prowl is also more compact and light weight because of it's monocular design, and it allows you to have one eye on your surroundings if you're in moving through variable light conditions, no need to flip it up out of the way etc. The Prowl can also be dual mounted which does provide a further depth of field than the Swift 2 PROs singular viewing screen. I hope this information is helpful and please let me know if you have any further questions.
Hello, you guys say that your nvgs are compatible with g24 helmet mounts but what helmet would be compatible with that. Like what is the helmet being used in this video with the swift 2 and is it available on Amazon?
Thanks for your question! G24 helmet mounts (and lots other mounts like it) connect to what's known as a shroud, a mounting plate found on the majority of tactical helmets. The helmet featured in the video can be found on Amazon (ASIN B01K18LDVK).
Great question! The main differences is that the Swift 2 is an upgraded version of the Swift. The Swift 2 has a higher resolution screen than the Swift, and an increased viewing angle of 53.8 degrees to the swifts 40 degree. The Swift 2 has a much larger viewing range at night of 130meters to the Swifts 70meters. The Swift 2 has increased adjustable zoom x3 instead of only x2. The Swift 2 has dual IR, using both 850nm for long range and 940nm for stealthy low glow. The Swift 2 also has a much longer battery life of 5 hours compared to the 3 hours with the Swift. The Swift 2 also has a new eye surround that is comfier on the face and helps block more light spill. So overall with the Swift 2 you can see further for longer with a clearer view on the screen. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any further questions.
The Swift, like all our devices can be used with 850nm and 940nm IR wavelength. So the Swift will work with a 940nm IR, but the 940nm wavelength doesn't provide a big boost to viewing range at night it is for stealth. This is why the Swift 2 and Swift 2 Pro have both inbuilt to have the best of both worlds.@@noahchapman1856
We recommend a Wilcox G24 style helmet mount, that will connect to the Swift 2 and your helmet. Good quality copies are available online for $100 and below.
They are only designed for civilian use not military combat. Lots of people use them for airsoft, walking at night, home security and hunting. If you need extra stealth, you can also turn off the IR LEDs whilst still being able to pick up ambient light at night (such as moonlight and distant street lights), by selecting IR0. It's the first IR setting so it's easy to access and use.
Great question! It is always a fine balancing act combining high spec screens and other essential components for budget nvgs. We do have other devices that have higher spec screens, the Corsac and Whisker, but not currently for head mounted nvgs. Rest assured it will be something the team works on for future devices.

Does the pro version include a helmet attachment in the box?
Yes, the Swift 2, Swift 2 PRO and Prowl all come with a G24 dovetail helmet mount included in the box with the device. I hope this helps!
