In 2012, Shah Rukh Khan became the first Indian to have bagged a special award at the 20th UNESCO Awards in Germany for his charity works.
He was also appointed as the first global ambassador of UNOPS, which works to improve the lifestyle of people.

SRKs NGO recently launched an initiative on International Women’s Day titled 'ToGETher Transformed' and it sponsored corrective surgeries for fifty burns and acid attack survivors. The whole month of March was dedicated to organizing these surgeries.
The surgeries were performed at BLK Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi and G.S. Memorial Plastic Surgery Hospital and Trauma Center in Varanasi from 5th March, 2019 SRKs organization commenced its next leg in Kolkata at AMRI Hospitals Dhakuria under Dr. Arindam Sarkar. Patients from Delhi, UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand, with an 85% population of women and children availed the facilities of the initiative.

University of Law which is one of the largest Law School of UK ,in recognition of his work in championing human rights, access to justice and crime.This is SRKs 4th honorary doctorate
