The thing with the cooler is a proof you always have to check if everything is compatible. Measurements are important too.
BTW: removing a VRM heatsink isn't smart. It might damage the VRM's and overvolt your CPU. = breaking CPU.

You have a i5 6600k but only a gtx 960 you should have gone with i3 6100 and gtx 970 or something like that

I had the same mobo and cooling, and my mobo also didn't run with the first CPU connector. Luckily all I had to do was connect it to a different one and it worked. Ty Preston for including that in the vid :)

It depends on where you put the computer, if you put it on the floor, Most of the time it's better for the fan to face upwards, If it's on your desk or something that isn't the floor, a rug or anything similar, then its better to make it face downwards

SHADOW_PVP Water cooling is better for overclocking the processor. Fan cooling and stock coolers are not good for overclocking at all.
Hikefrank, he is using a 6600K, that model does not come with a stock cooler, also a liquid cooler is best for overclocking, something I believe Preston would want to do.

OneShot l InVader-Slayer i7s are ideal, an i5 is meant for gaming needs and wont bottleneck like an i3. But of course it all depends on what yoir editing :)

I built a pc like 2 weeks ago and it as a 1070 ftw and an i5 6500, 16gb of RAM for about $1000USD
Tip to screwing stuff in do a cross pattern so that way its even like u have four screw holes put on in the top left first then bottom right so that ways it doesnt move
You should have gone with either an air cooled build or a case were you can have the radiator and fans pointing towards the front of the case
