Thank you for watching. After reversing the material, the cutting edge was moved to the position of the center line so that the center line of the template and the needle tip were aligned before processing.
I am a machinist and I believe it is a good idea to wear gloves when handling rough stock and sharp parts. Using this technique are you introducing a small amount of geometric error by using the square nose tool to trace the circle? Would a circle insert correct for such error, if you were to offset your zero to the center of the inscribed circle?
Thank you for your comment. This method does not take into account miscalculations due to the shape of the cutting edge. It is just a video of simple copying. Next time, I will make a highly accurate sphere using a simple jig.
昔TVで砲丸の旋盤加工を見ましたが、やはりあれは、超人レベルですね。重心も出してましたし。あの時、どーやって造っているのかわかりませんでしたが、動画を見てスッキリしました。主さんも相当な技術です。脱帽!

砲丸で有名な辻谷さんでしたら、チャックの下に円盤状の型を設置し、刃物台にはそれと接触させる倣い装置を装着して、
常に倣い装置が円盤の円周に接触するようにハンドルを操作して加工されていました。
