Since it keeps getting brought up, my wrecker weighs about 1500 pounds heavier in the front than the rear... Plus the rear is wider meaning it rides higher on the walls. All things to make backing up something a huge pain. The entire time I had my foot on the clutch ready to try and catch it if things went wrong. It's all about feel and knowing exactly what your rig is doing. (disclaimer: I don't recommend ever trying what I do, for insurance reasons. Lol.) Really glad nobody got hurt on this one and the rig was still able to drive.
2:03 had to laugh at a Matt's Off-Road recovery flag going by. Perfect ad placement.
Like a shark circling its prey. LAND SHARK!
Laughed even HARDER at trump sign.
Not as funny as the Trump 2024 flag going by seconds before disaster.
Very prophetic. 🤣
Welp the universe warned him multiple times
Sure did. They were playing with fire
It may have taken him awhile, but he finally showed the world where his brains were at!
Not sure if he deserves kudos for not giving up OR give him a hard time for not knowing when to quit. 🤔
Exactly
The latter....
His friends are definitely rubbing his fail in his face
He's like I'm not leaving here until I roll this jeep
This is crazy. From beginning, middle and end. I’m screaming “get down” the entire time. Anyone surprised with ending? Anyway, hope no one was hurt. Thx for sharing this video tho!
We were surprised watching it live. I kept telling him to go driver a foot.
@@adventuresaroundsouthernutah he was so high on the passenger side every attempt. Crazy.
I was screaming as well he needed to put his darn pride away and realize he wasn't ready for the chute backwards he had so many chances to make a reasonable choice and couldn't let it go if the cameraman was correct that his kids were in the backseat his lack of self control endangered them completely irresponsible, sigh
@Jim Goodwin he was the only one in the vehicle. He walked away unhurt thankfully. In the end the vehicle drove out and had surprisingly very little damage.
Rollover is at 5:20 to save yourself 5 minutes
all those ppl and only 2 guys reacted and headed to help. those are the real hero's
That’s what I call ambition out weighing ability
Roll cage did it's job, looks like it was well built
That will buff out. P.S. The link to the recovery video is in the description. That is almost as good as the rollover.
Made the exact same mistake over and over again before finally flipping it lol. You have to realize its not worth it and let go of ego at some point
You guys are awesome . There is absolutely nothing I could teach you about anything off-road. There is something though you might want to think about . I come from a place in Australia where the temperature in summertime gets well over 100 F . When I was young I used to wear a baseball cap outdoors most of the time like you guys do now. I am now in my 70’s and have had more carcinomas burned off or cut out than I can count . I notice that a couple of you are “rangas “ ( Australian for redheads ) so your skin will be more susceptible. I know that hats don’t look cool but I wish I had worn one when I was young.
I've had 2 melanoma cancers cut out of my face. (Now I look like a sword fighting pirate. Arg.) You have to wear a broad brim hat to prevent those.
@@janblake9468 broad brims are the go for sure
Is putting a space before and after your punctuation an Australian thing?
Nah, just fat thumbs
I do believe Australia has stronger sun radiation than we do in the states. You know everything down under wants to kill you!
They say never give up, but he should have given up.
Rory backed up the chute effortless.
there’s a YT vid of a guy driving a 100% stock new bronco up in reverse also … ps. Rory is un-human at driving his rig 👍🏼
He has a lot more weight in the rear and with his wrecker than this guy
@@Deepthoughtswithjoel nah Rory has said that his truck is VERY biased to the front. To the point where he'll go down steep things in reverse to feel safer about it. This person just didn't have the type of skill he does, and it shows throughout the entire video.
@@Deepthoughtswithjoel Exactly what Rory himself has said. He would roll if he went up forward. this Jeep is very front heavy and could maybe do it forward. Maybe.
Rory has mad slick rock skills whether driving or spotting.
Awesome! that was gnarly! Hope the driver and passenger are ok!
100% positive that guy watched Rory back up that with ease and though I can do that…. Well no.. no sir you cant
There were a lot of people attempting it Saturday. The Bronco before him had to be winched over as it would have done the some thing.
It was amazing to watch how determined someone can be to prove how stupid they are.
Well.....Aren't you just the superior sumbitch....... This driver was working on the very edge to control a high center of gravity and short-wheelbase vehicle. His attack was not the least bit "Stupid."
This is the nature of motorsports.......... If you can't understand that....Why are you even watching this?
guy needs to learn when to call it quits.
I was thinking the exact same thing!
I love your comment!!! 😂😂😂
That’s too harsh. He was becoming mentally fatigued and should have taken a break.
Rory is an expert driver with a vehicle he knows inside and out, knows its limit, and knows how to read trails.
No one is Better on any trail than Rory Irish of MOAB Motorsports!
@Phil M This wasn't a video of Rory
It also weighs more in the arse than the front!
@@michaelrobbins9679what weighs more in the rear than the front??
@@michaelrobbins9679 lol ok 😂
Shows you how good of a rig Rory, Matt, and the other guys have, compared to a regular person’s tricked out vehicle.
It's also experience. Not sure why the guy kept cranking his wheel driver near the top. I think it was also dying on them, which could be because it's carborated and the pump is losing prime. His tank needs baffles to help with that
There is no experience test or mentally test given before getting behind the wheel.
That rollover wasn't any fault of the rig, it was the loose nut behind the wheel that didn't have the common sense to know when to give up.
Rig was fine. driver didn't appear to know how to drive
Pure driver error. After the first near roll, they should've given up. Just wanted to prove they were as good as Rory. Newsflash, you ain't.
You know Rory is a bad ass because he earned it not because he copied it.
Good example for knowing when to quit.
Correct me if I'm wrong but if he wouldn't have hit the brakes and locked up the front end it would have come back down.
its an instinct not to do so. but you r right.
Well, that did not go well! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Know your limits... pay attention to the warning signs
right? They had so many warnings that it might not work out
that only works if you don't have an ego to protect
Rory Irish was overheard to say, "Do as I say, not as I do." 🙈🙉🙊
The stalling is probably due to a non-baffled tank and pump losing prime, and/or if the engine is carborated not fuel injected, that does not help your case either. Or maybe he's just stalling the gears riding a clutch(I hope not) But what I can't understand is why he was always cranking the wheel counterclockwise towards the top. What was the deal with that? There were 2 or 3 times he likely would have made it had he kept things straight. But every time, without fail, you see wheels crank driver hard.
Great filming.
Totally had ear plugs in and didn't listen to his gut. Three strikes at something like that, pull out. Live to try it another day.
1 more time,1 more time . Ouch!
Video starts at 5:20
@BoostLeak Boys Video starts at 0:00
@@p098098098 exactly.
Nothing like 5 and a half minutes to prepare for 9 seconds of video.
@@markstoneking821 Um, "video" means the whole thing, never mind whether you're just here to see a guy binning his jeep, or the whole maneuver?
This person saw Rory do it backwards! So I can then. No Rory is a very experienced wheeler and look at the terrain and figure out where the line is. The driver should have bailed the first time it got tippy. Hopefully everyone in the Jeep is ok. Lots of personal stuff fell out.
If it doesn't work the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and many more...time to rethink and do it another day. I guess you get what is coming and it wasn't like the off road spirits giving a warning too!
Third time's the flipping charm :P
It seems like wheel-base length and weight distribution can make all the difference on this one.
Why do I feel like this was one of those "I can do this with my eyes closed" things.
Makes you really appreciate the trail mader and Rorys driving abilities
I love watching evolution weed out weakness in real-time.
Glad you got to finish the games. Sorry to hear about losing reverse. Hope things go better next wrecker game! Keep up the great videos.😛
Yup keep turning your wheel it's working great
He kept turning into that line that was going to flip him 3/4 to the top every single time. Glad he walked away. Hopefully the rig isn't too worse for wear.
Check out the recovery video.
some people turn the wheel when thay look behind when driveng in reverice
Surprisingly he drove the rig away.
@@adventuresaroundsouthernutah It didn't look that beat up, so it's not surprising it was able to drive out. Do you have a link or know of a channel that got the recovery on video? I'd like to see it. He definitely got himself into a spot.
@@eddief3326 And that's just inexperience. This guy really should have had a spotter, as that's not an easy like to back up without a lot of time in the seat.
But, But, But Rory made it look so easy.
Not enough weight in the back
See someone back up the obsical and decide to try… then you realize that was Rory and you end up on your lid. Hope they are safe. Looked like a hard fall.
Man, so many opportunities to make a better decision.
My butt puckered during that whole video.
That's gonna leave a mark
Stay tuned for the recovery video.
ruclips.net/video/85PyzBFyWho/видео.html 😉
That's a good roll cage
Rory makes it look easy.
We aren’t all Rory.
Written..... 3 attempts is the right amount of trying, insisting is a recepy for disaster, at least he could have asked for a safety line attached to the back just to be on the safe side, now there's a lot to clean. At least the cage was strong enough to protect the driver and passenger
So who got the recovery call?
Just like many people watch car racing for the wrecks, I'm guessing many people here were just watching for the flip.
Dude, I think God gave you ample opportunity to rethink your decisions. WTF were you thinking? The only thing I can think of was "I gotta show off for Rory."
Start watching at 5:20.
When you think you can do what you see on tv lol
Rory makes it look so easy
I think the driver learned something.
His spotter was right when he made his first attempt.."stay straight" ....but the driver turned the wheel. He continued doing that....looked like the spotter had had enough of him not listening.
He was on mission
They watched Rory do it and thought they could. They turned the wrong wait on almost every single attempt and the last one made him flip
Who woulda guessed 😂
Flip is at 5:18
Nice of this guy to foot the bill for my entertainment. :)
Yet he still made it up farther than 99% of us would have
The Gambler - Kenny Rodgers 🎵🎵
Only Rory can do this with Grace.
Rory has the proper weight distribution along with the skillz.
Rory done started something that few can finish.
Folks have been reversing up this thing for a very long time.
Explaining this as "fun hobby" to an alien....
MAAAAATT!!!
well at least the recovery trucks were right there
It took alot of doing, but he got er done.
Hold my beer and watch this!
"So, I made a call"
I'll just back up that like.....just like Rory did.
Sometimes the crowds get the better end of someone's ego... Dude just couldn't give it up.
Like watching a Midwesterner try to parallel park
I think the one who really got injured was the guy in the red cap Who wiped out when he jumped off the top of the chute looks like he messed up his left elbow and possibly his behind
Leave the backwards driving rock crawling to TRAILMATER.
were there any recovery wreckers to help them?
No this happened today. The wreckers came up this yesterday. We were up cleaning up and got to see the crews come up in their regular off-road vehicles but this happened just after they left. Stay tuned for video of the recovery by the bystanders that were there.
I think I can, I think I can . . .oh crap I can't.
Easily the most spatially unaware driver I've ever seen.
Wow!! So many chances to just stop trying it in reverse.
Such a short wheel base, very light rear end, paired with a lapse in judgment.
Just because Rory can do it doesn't mean others should. 😬😬😬
We got a Call!
Third time not a charm.
There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity..
he could have just left that stunt for the trail mater! he just got to show off!
Stay tuned for the video of Rory directing Jamy in a bad spot on 777 today.
Trail Mater it's no thing but a chicken wing. Rory stays on gnarly 4x4 terrain every day for a living not in a office pushing on keyboards all day.
Most off-roaders get out a few days a month if there lucky.
@@Coolhansolo the guy in this video is obviously showing off climbing up reverse instead of forward and no spotter. He wanted the hard way and he got it.
Cage did its job well, some hard knocks there though.
...dunno how they'll get it out, might need a recovery crew of some sort.
Isn't that expensive ??
Asking for my grandpa who is in a 4x4 wheelchair on 30s. 🤣
What’s was he trying to do? Up/down?
He was going up backwards. Rory did it the day before in Trailmator.
Who tries to back straight up by turning?
Rory backed up in one shot.
Jeep flip comes at 5:20, in case you wanted to see what is touted in the title.
Ok getting that jeep out of there is one recovery I would like to see
Jeep was too light in the backend and he was determined to steer up on the wall every time which kept throwing him off. He needed a spotter under him too.
Just because Rory can do it, doesn't mean everyone can...
The flames on the hood are going the wrong way.
Don't they have spotters to help?
Some learn the hard way..🙄
