10:20 wow, I completely forgot Aizen's exchange with Ukitake, it truly was a multi-layered statement. Kubo does such a great thing by taking these moments and expanding on them later on.
Kubo really is underrated af in foreshadowing
A couple stuff here:
1. Gigai is an empty flesh that allows a soul reaper to wear it so that people can see them in the living world. Kisukei put the Hogyoku in the gigai for Rukia, and when Rukia wore it the Hogyoku attached to her soul. That's why it's still in her body when she's in the soul society (she's not in a gigai anymore).
2. Soul society is very traditional, like ancient Japanese society, and they emphasize on one to fulfill one's role in a society. That's why Byakuya is so locked on following the law and order since it's his role as a captain of the 13 squads and as head of the Kuchiki family. Also, not really a spoiler but more of the lore of soul society, before the 13 squads were formed, the soul society was a real mess, as in 0 law and it's killed or be killed. So that also contributes to the 13 squads trying so hard to obey the law since they wouldn't want the soul society to go back to the dark ages. It's totally normal for us to think that "oh I wouldn't have follow that stupid order" cuz like Ichigo we're born in the modern world where humans more evolved thinking.
Point 2 - Perfectly explained
Evolved is probably the wrong word
Byakuya is not omitting the "go" in Ichigo's name. He just says it softly, with low intonation.
And because he's exhausted, it's hard for him to speak.

Truer statements have never been uttered.
It is something slightly deeper for him. The Noble clans holds a special significance for the rest of soul society. The family that yourichi is from from guards precious objects and secrets.
Byakuya clan, represent the laws of soul society. And he's the current head. The law is what his family and clan has always protected. It's not as simple as him being a rebel and he feels like it. Marrying his wife and even adopting rukia were really really big deals.
He didn't handle admonishing himself right I'm making the valley at his parents grave. But he did do that and it's not something easily broken. To swear on your family's grave.
And no that isn't the end of Aizen.
Trust there's much more story.

The hogyoku was inside rukia's soul, not the gigai. The gigai was destroyed ever since she was brought back to the soul society
It scares me at times how easy reactors go against byakuya, everyone wants to feel their opinions are the moral high ground and cause anarchy against rules.. If people only had to follow the "convenient for them" rules the the world would burn lol

Never fails. People don't think about the real truth of his reasoning after the reveal because "hehe the orders were fake" but in actuality you CAN'T just ignore the law and break the law because you feel like it or disagree. Obviously Byakuya was being overly cold and standoffish and blindly following laws isn't always the answer either that's why they foil each other in this arc so well
To be honest, I feel go straight to judge a character in Bleach is something you really shouldn't do, because Kubo likes to write some complicated characters and even some character you feel are really simple has more depth if you pay attention. Kubo's writing is like poetry regarding storytelling and character building, I think that is one point set Bleach difference with Naruto or One Piece.
Aizen spent 1 episode and a half explaining why he wanted the hogyoku and how urahara put the hogyoku inside Rukia just for her to think that when aizen was removing the hogyoku from Rukia he was actually taking rukia's soul... is not that she was against Byakuya is just that she probally didn't even understand his character. Last episode she said fucking Yama was working with Aizen for God's sake.
@@Step43099 People complain when the son of a Rich, powerfull or influential person do something wrong but never suffer the consequences of it, just to say that Byakuya should've broken the law for rukia. Byakuya gave a monoloque in episode 59 after Ichigo, and another one this episode, both went over her head. Sad.

The Soul Society is peak Bleach. It's some of the best writing in the series and has some crazy fights and plot twists.
Poor Gin. Man was content being held prisoner by Rangiku.
You had asked why Tosen was with him, he had said in the previous episode that he made sure to befriend Tosen due to his blindness making him immune to Aizen's power. A lot of other questions to keep track of, but they do have answers. Hope you enjoy where the next arc takes you!
Byakuya's face turn saving Rukia made my opinion of him do a 180 lol.

I should explain from Byakuya’s side since it’s never explained in the anime but the 4 noble families are like gods. They practically created the soul society. The Kuchiki, Shihion, and Tsunayashiro clans. The fourth clan is still a mystery. That’s why it is such a big deal to Byakuya to uphold their laws because if the nobles can’t, who will? This also plays into Tosen’s betrayal. (Don’t worry I’m not spoiling anything because it doesn’t go into depth in the anime).
Isn’t the fourth noble family the shiba clan, I sort of remember byakuya saying that they fell from nobility

I always found it ironic that of the three traitor captains, Gin was the one most Obviously Evil, the most untrustworthy, and the one set up to be the Big Bad, and yet he's the one who was the most honest about the kind of person he was, the one most reluctant to leave, and even apologized to the one person he cared about in Soul Society.
If it is one thing Sosuke Aizen is known for it's his monologues
[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- Shinigami are already "souls" Rukia isnt in a Gigai here, the Hogyoku was hidden within the special Gigai Urahara made which hid or merged the Hogyoku within her Soul.
- Kubo as i always say, doesn't do things for no reason. Ukitake has been sick and kinda off to the side this entire arc, yet for some reason Aizen is directly speaking to him, everyone should be questioning why?
- Yes, in large part Aizen goal and theme is based in the realm of a God-Complex. However its tackled using themes/studies in Philosophy. Kubo uses friedrich nietzsches "Ubermensch" (a famous Philosophy book and concept/belief)
- In the Soul Society those with enough spiritual pressure can experience things like hunger and sicknesses.
- Byakuya purpose may seem lackluster but as many people have pointed out he is the head of 1 of the 4 remaining Great Noble Clans so law is very VERY important to them.
- Aizen has Complete Hypnosis, so yes he can 100% affect how others sense spiritual pressure, he can manipulate all of the targets senses.
- Dont worry Aizen, Gin and Tousen are not done.

Funny thing about the 13 Court Guard Squads: being an officer is murder on your romantic life! There are 13 Captains and 12 Lieutenants at the start of the series (because Rukia's Lieutenant, Kaien Shiba, is dead). But Byakuya Kuchiki is the only one out of these 25 characters who has ever been married (as far as we ever learn) and his wife died after 5 years!

Byakuya takes that so hard because he is the head of one of the 4 great noble house, he thinks he needs to serve as an example to all Soul Reapers, and if he doesn't do things right and break the law just for his own selfish reason, then who would follow them? That is why he needs to do something to make up for his own action. The burden on his shoulder is way heavier than you thought, he can't just go "I don't like it so I won't follow it". Byakuya is a typical "Noblesse Oblige" believer, as a person who stands on top of society he believes he needs to take more responsibility than any other person. That makes him need to act as the proper Noble family head and be able to make tough decisions.
Yoruichi doesnt care, Yushiro is too young, Tokinada is crazy, Shibas were demoted and last one is a mystery. Byakuya is the only one that takes this seriously.
love this reaction. I'm on episode 230 of bleach and these reactions are great reminders of stuff i watched ages ago, lets me enjoy the stuff I'm currently watching more. Plus I like u as a reactor, so double win
17:35 yes, it can, we just saw a captain completely believe Aizen was in one place only to see he was a lot closer than he perceived. He wasn't hiding, he was standing right in front of him and yet his hypnosis made the other captain completely perceive Aizen as standing somewhere he wasn't. The only weakness Aizen has told us in the previous episode is that he needs to have his intended target, or multiple targets, see his sword and activate it.
Don’t expect the writer of the show(Aizen) to reveal his plan 😉
Aizen illusion's is actually flawless no one has been able counter it even the strongest character who can see the future falled for his illusion and didn't even realize it after it affect even though he knew of his powers and abilities. Also he does that while is completely sealed and immobilized you will see it in very long future episode
I guess if you look at it from Byakuya's perspective, it was breaking the law that allowed him to bring Rukia home, and therefore he felt like he should make it up to their parents and his familiy's "name" by not braking the law ever again.
He promised to his parents never to break laws again because bringing Rukia in was already breaking the law.
But since he promised Hisana he would and he wanted to fullfill that promise, he broke the law adopting Rukia, even if that tarnished the Kuchiki name.
Out of guilt by not honoring his clan's name, he promised he wouldn't break the law anymore, and bringing Rukia in was the only time in his life he would go against his family.
Great reaction, and one small thing in case it still confuses you but we were told when they went to the Soul Society that their physical form would convert to spiritual forms. It's a plot convenience but it helps explain a lot. Also, we were shown how the Hogyoku looks like last episode and that was it, Rukia has nothing to do with the Hogyoku, she was just the unwilling vessel.

In soul society, there are two groups of spirits, (I’m not going to call them souls because that word is thrown around so much that it’s practically ambiguous. Like how does a soul have a soul?). The ones who we can truly say, are dead because they don’t experience typical needs and desires the way they did when they were alive, and the other group which do experience needs and desires, and by that consequence are essentially a new form of life. The second group are the ones who become soul reapers, and the gods while the former group Waits to die a second time

Anime back then didn't have seasons the way they do now. At least not anime like this. So the ending points will be completely random. The next episode is the last episode of this arc so i guess that could be called the end of the season. But theres no way of splitting up arcs in to even numbers of episodes. The openings don't necessarily reflect that a new season is beginning.
However many episodes you're watching in one sitting at the moment you might want to multiply that by 1.5x from now on and maybe put 2 episodes per video because the pacing becomes really bad for most of the rest of the original anime soon after this. There are times its better than others. But often its real slow. Sad reality of old long running shows. The new bleach anime is the complete opposite i would say the pacing is too fast.

If they gave away the whole back story of aizen's motives in the earlier episodes, there's nothing more to watch now is there? Obviously there are more episodes of aizen, ichigo getting stronger. Keep watching fillers too, there's a lot of backstory there which they will tell you more and more in the next episodes. The next arc is the bount arc after this epsidoes. There's almost 500 episodes in bleach, so there's more arcs there and they do finish the aizen arc later on

Aizen didn't make Hollow think he is one of them, they come to help because Aizen already made Hollow become his subordinate, they are here to pick up Aizen group because it is order, Aizen already made his region on the Hollow world.
whatever you do, dont skip the Bountu Arc. yes it is filler but its still good
