Im tearing up rn. It's just so fucking beautiful. It made me think of going fishing with my old babysitter. She was like a second mother to me. God bless you man.
@@ConfusedAnemicMoth hmm, valid point. But if you train to make it quickly, you can make more in the end since when you get to the creating part after the learning part, you'll have a higher pace I guess
You just start creating things and the more you create the easier it is and the cooler they are. Well, I think so. I am more of a practice then learning person
I love this actually. There's a very specific breed of longing and reverence to this piece that I feel reaches as far back into memory as it possibly can. I hope you're doing alright, man. We're all gonna make it.
Any chance you’d ever think about putting your things on Spotify or other streaming platforms? Your stuff sounds amazing and I’d love to be able to easily access it on Spotify. And by the way, this track is absolutely amazing. It’s so thought-provoking, perfect for introspection. Something I kind of need more than I allow myself to get. So thank you.
i was recording and playing around with some other guitar stuff last night. i occasionally play around with tons of reverb, delay, volume swells, drones, and all sorts of ambient guitar things, however most of the time I just don't record it. I mostly play it and feel good about the vibe afterwards. this time i just hit the record button on a whim and kept building on it haha
hey,, i wanted to know what type of equipment you use to create this music. i’m new to a lot of this, but i would love to be able to have my own sessions where i make swells like this one you’ve done. this music shook me to my core, and i simply want to be able to make a similar sound from a guitar
Hello! thank you so much! this is basically the whole process broken down with the equipment I used. for this song, I recorded it in audacity. I just used a basic limiter on the raw tracks with some slight panning. I played using a custom fender stratocaster that i modified to let me use the bridge and neck pickups at the same time, emulating a telecaster pickup orientation. for the pedals, the chain starts through an MXR Studio Compressor, then an MXR 10-band EQ, then it goes into the preamp stage of a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV. it comes back into the pedalboard from the effects loop directly into a BOSS volume/expression pedal to manually control the volume swell effect. that gets fed into a Gamechanger Plus Pedal that I use a lot for getting infinitely sustained chords, then into an MXR Carbon Copy delay with the settings pretty high, and then into a tcelectronic Hall of Fame 2 reverb with the tone knob set very low but with the wet and decay settings maxed out. it goes back into the amp, which is miked with an SM57. the playing was done in EAEG#BE. I picked chords at random to play and improvised the composition on the spot. I recorded more guitar tracks on top of the main improvised track with the exact same pedal chain and settings, but with tone knob on my guitar in various positions to add more texture to the sound and fill more space. last second I recorded a final track where I randomly slid my hand around the strings and added a fair bit of noise like pick slides and subtle rustling. it initially sounded too "clean" and I wanted to give the impression that the guitar itself was breathing as it sung. also as if the recording was done outside with ambient noises like passing cars and the sound of wind. totally thought it all up on the spot but I feel it worked itself out in a really nice way. I'm glad you resonated it! I really appreciate that haha
Okay, I know this probably isn’t the best place to be asking this, but I’ve got an idea for a show I want to make and I think this would be great for a part of it, so I was wondering if you would be okay with me using this and obviously giving you credit if I ever get around to making the show?
why did you have to ruin it? why did you have to drag your fingers on your strings rather than lifting them up for a cleaner sounds? the vibe was so great until i heard the cardinal sin of every guitar player that can't be bothered about the quality of their audio... damn
it was deliberately added on another track towards the end of recording actually. I took a page out of Sorority Noise's book because they do it in a few of their songs. it sounded way too clean and sterile at first so I just added some string brushes, pick slides, and imperfections on top of all the reverb and delay. almost as if you're listening to something recorded outside with the sound of distant cars and making the guitar "breathe" in a way
This dude should score and animate his own film. I would watch the hell outta that!
SAME, if it would be in theatres, it would be the only movie I wouldn't pirate lol
Songs to listen to as you say goodbye to that person you met over the summer, and to repeat as you ponder that approaching winter chill
yall need to go lay under some stars and listen to this. life changing experience

That's what I want to be able to do, really. Improvise songs and make something beautiful without spending too much time on it. good work:)
Yeah man... I wonder how he does it...
But you do spend a lot of time on everything just to improvise it.
Maybe I'm not getting this correct.

this is some season finale type beat. I don't know how to even describe it except for 'amazing.'
I'm getting "major character death" vibes - the kind with flashbacks and montages.
Aye'o this is actually really beautiful!
mayde posting makes me do the sideways c smile like "c:"
This is what plays during the loading screen between death and heaven
Absolutely beautiful.
Man I can’t even put into words how good this is, it’s so sickeningly sweet 10/10

That took you about 20 minutes??? I am both absolutely amazed and pissed off at the same time.
Would love to hear a few words from the artist about what as the thought process behind the the creation of this piece

You can put it jn some kind of depressing gmae that takes place in snowy surroundings 👍
Love the cold polaroid. Did you take that?
yep! i took it right at the start of a long drive with my family in northern ontario haha

It's not THAT bad... I think it adds some character to the track. I didn't even notice the dragging until you mentioned it.
