Thanks for another great video! I failed pediatrics in 2020 by a few points, I was so embarrassed and devastated that my peers were moving ahead of me. Retook the class last Fall semester and did well. I understand the material much better and I feel confident entering med-surg 2. I’ve learned that everyone journey is different, what matters is that we get to the goal. Graduating this year and so excited ☺️
Wow Thank you for this! I'm currently in an accelerated nursing programing and failed my first class. I was extremely embarrassed and thought I was not as smart as the rest of the students in my class; especially me being the only black student. This video has helped and encouraged me so much. Every single thing you said is exactly how I felt and why I failed as well. I retake the class in March ! I am so happy I came across your video. It is so authentic and genuine.
I am so sorry to hear that, I know the feeling too well the embarrassment alone will have you second guessing yourself and I know how you feel about being the only black student bc in my class there was only a few black students. Good luck to you my dear, Rock that class out in March and journey on into Nursing! One 💚
I currently work in the hospital as a PCT and i start nursing school this spring and you are the first person i heard said nursing school is not hard. Coming from a yardie that makes me feel so much better.
EXCELLENT advice! Especially the part about evicting those negative thoughts (they not paying rent) and don't do study groups just to appear sociable. If ya don't do study groups, then those folks just have to think what they gonna think! Ya gotta do what's best for self!
So validating! I need to study alone and even play video at a slow speed to really get stuff. I know i seem antisocial and some ppl seem a little hostile about that but im making the grades i need so if it aint broke im not going to fix it!
I 100% agree with you about having a 4.0 won't make you a great nurse. What do you suggest I do to strengthen my skills? I notice that I get anxious, which interferes with my ability to think critically.
I find that anxiety comes when we think we don't know something, so I suggest if you don't know it move on and make a mental note of what it is so that you look it up after you are done. Preparing yourself ahead of time is always best. I got anxious and failed my exam when I came across one thing that throws me for a loop. Don't do that. Your nursing skills will come if you are willing and able to learn the skill set will come. Exam wise look at the type of questions you miss and read rationale about why the answer is wrong or right. Good Luck
I Love This, definitely needed to hear 👂, because I start nursing school in Fall 2021. I am a single mother and I will be attending a community college. I felt this because even I felt a little discouraged, but I do believe in myself❤️
You are welcome! Don't be discouraged even if you think you are not doing as well as you thought you would when you start the program. These thoughts make it even worst. Best of luck to you
Yeah I’m a C average student I’m doing the best I can to get accepted into Nursing school. I’m not working in the nursing home anymore. I am working in home health as a CNA. Do I know everything no I don’t. I want to own my craft. People think I should just settle with just working in a nursing home as a CNA I was really unhappy. I love home health I really do. And in the near future I want to be a home health nurse. Lord thank you for this video because there is so many videos out there about if you don’t make an A in your science pre req course you won’t get accepted into nursing school or have a certain GPA. My GPA from undergrad was really low. I am going to do the best I can to get accepted into Nursing school lord the ATI teas test is stressing me out. You know what I can do it. Yeah science and math aren’t my strongest subjects. It’s a challenge for me. I learn differently from others. Thank you so much for this video I will revisit this video when I get accepted into Nursing school. I am smart enough to be a Nurse my GPA or test scores doesn’t define me.
What do you guys think about my advice that’s A’s alone does not matter? Let me know in the comments! As usual thanks so much for watching!
Loool I was right I heard "dunce " ...I finally overcoming my fear and I'm gonna apply for nursing school
Yay🎉😊Me too!

I use the word challenging instead of hard, bc if I say hard to me that thing cannot be accomplished. Good luck to you my dear on nursing journey
