Thank you for talking about Fr. Benedict as a saint. It seems like I never hear anyone talking about him. Thank you for your awesome sense of humor, like St. Philip Neri!
I’ve begged God for friends because I’m so lonely in my faith, and He’s blessed me with an abundance of saints to fill that hole. St Teresa of Avila is absolutely MY saint, she’s my best friend. But St Joseph, St Anthony of Padua, St Patrick, Padre Pio, Joan of Arc, so many others have also played such special rolls in my journey of faith. 🙏💕
I just went through RCIA last year and coming from a Bible thumpin’ southern Protestant background, I had never heard of any saints beyond Augustine. Going through RCIA, they sort of sprang the patron saint name on me. I said what do you mean? They said well which saint do you pray to the most? I said just Mary, I’m learning the saint Michael prayer. They said but what about guys like padre pio, and st Benedict. I said who’s that? I started looking into the saints and ended up choosing clement. I feel bad that it was rushed though, a year later and at Gregory would be my choice now. Perhaps even John Chrysostom, sometimes I wonder if I could get it changed, clement is still very powerful and useful to me. Then again I wonder if in 5 years I’ll even greater favorites. There’s so many saints to choose from and so many I haven’t even heard of yet. Im trying to do a mini study for every feast day to familiarize myself with a larger portion of them. Occasionally my priest will suggest one for me to study. I absolutely LOVE being catholic. Coming up on a full year and I’ve never been more at peace or confident in my faith. I love all you guys! Every comment is so full of love, kindness, and gratitude. It really feels like we’re family.
Fr Groeschel did a mission in a very rural part of Virginia. I could only imagine what might of been going through his head, when he arrived! It was a wonderful blessing to see him in person and how well he connected and "worked the room" so to speak. Miss seeing him on EWTN truly caring and of great wit.
My favorite saint is John the Baptist. When I was younger I found him rather frightening because he was so radical and ascetic, somehow wild. But growing older I admire him for being unconditionally loyal to the truth, faithful until death.
I remember in one of his Sunday evening talks, he said that when he died he would like to be able to reunite lost pets with their owners. This was so sweet. ❤
Father, this is how I feel about St. Therese the Little Flower! I didn’t pick her, she picked me. I don’t really resignate with her story like I do with other saints, but she has made it clear that she wants to be best friends with me lol. On her feast day 2 Sundays ago, I smelt roses at mass (none of my family members had smelt it). This is the second time this happened to me. I also feel very close to Blessed Father Michael McGivney and Father Solanus Casey, my Irish saints. I feel so sad for our Protestant brothers and sisters who reject the saints; saints are like our best friends who help us get closer to God. God bless you
I actually did find my saints thanks to Fr. Carlos Martins’ relics show! St. Ignatius of Loyola, St.?Benedict, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Jerome, St. Maria Goretti, St. Bridget of Sweden, my patron saint, St. Peter! Omg St. Peter, he’s watching out for me. I have the ability to sense things, it’s weird. But a lot of the relics I encountered “told” me things. St. Peter “told” me he and all the apostles pray for all Christians to God. I thought that was beautiful. And Jesus’s relic made me fall back. Anyway, actually a lot of saints reached out to me, not just the ones I mentioned. They really love us y’all. They all love and want the best for us. I really sensed the apostles’ love for us, especially. They are our friends and want us in heaven too. I got that much from Peter even when I went to visit his tomb at the Vatican. Him and the sons of thunder are very dear to me!
Ahhh there is always something about your videos that bring me so much joy, I cannot help to smile as I listen. I love your channel and I always always always get something special from your words. God bless
I watched a documentary by @gabiafterhours on St. Maria Goretti and cried so much. I can't tell if it spoke to me or it was just how her testimony was told
Fr. Columba, I need to tell you, without being too lengthy, that my daughter and grandchild were being kicked out of their house. I told her to come move home, but because of certain circumstances and past experience, I KNEW she would not. I wished there was a novena to Fr. Groeschel, but since there isn't, I pulled up his old rosaries from RUclips and began a Fr. Groeschel rosary novena. I started it on Sunday and she contacted me the very next day and asked if she could come home!! I was blown away. Glory to God, and thanks to Fr. Groeschel (and to you)!
I have multiple sclerosis and am disabled in a wheelchair. My patron saint is Saint Margaret of Castello. And I felt the same as you when she went from Blessed to Saint!
Ever since I read The Seven Storey Mountain, I have been drawn to Thomas Merton. I believe he helped lead to my conversion through his, and the other Trappist monks' prayers.
Good morning Father I do ask Padre Pio to pray and to protect me always from the temptations also St Francis. St Clara, Papa Giovanni. Thank you very much please pray for all of us have a safe weekend ahead.
How lovely to hear about these answers to the prayers of the saints. My life is immeasurably better for having found, as. protestant, this wonderful aspect to my faith. I love Saint Petroc and I am sure Saint Honorine helps my daughter with her friendships. May God continue to bless your work.
I’ve been meaning to add Fr. Benedict Groeschel to my Holy Souls list to pray for because I heard he humbly begged people to not canonize him and pray for him after his death. It sounds like he is Home but I’m going to add him anyway. Thanks. Three Hail Marys for you Fr. Columba.
After several months of daily prayers for her next step to sainthood, I heard that Servant of God Sister Lucia of Fatima was granted the title of Venerable. A couple of days prior to this I also found out that our Lady of Peace statue from the world apostolate of Fatima HQ would make a stop in my hometown; and the postulate representative for the cause of sister Lucia’s sainthood would also be making a speaking engagement at the same time… I found out soon after that these two events were not coordinated. All of this news was quite joyfully overwhelming for me with tears of joy. Coincidence? I think not! Thanks be to God
Bradfords loss, Limericks gain. I hope you will be happy Father. I'm glad a friend has gone with you though, look after Gerry. Be assured. of my prayers.
St. Faustina really does help us understand the grace and love of Jesus. St. Faustina please pray for us. I ask you St. Faustina to please help me to love and obey Jesus and Our Blessed Mother.
St Padre Pio. Definitely St Padre Pio for me. Thanks to St Padre Pio's prayers for me, I managed to win the $1000 prize at bingo and was able to buy a large statue of him. Also, his intercession helped me leave the SSPX. Quite a few other things too he's helped me with that i can't thank him enough for. St Padre Pio has brought me much closer to Our Lord. Deo gratias 🙏
It's like Fr. Benedict is teaming up with St. Joseph on some house grace shenanigans! I've got a story too. I had to sell a house in a hurry once, and just when I thought things couldn't get worse, daily downpours were turning the basement into a mini-lake. So, I turned to St. Joseph with a novena, and guess what? The very next day, a buyer strolled in, unfazed by our new indoor pool, and snapped up the house! 🏡🙏✨
I found my saint through my favorite video game, Assassin's Creed. The last game had St. Alfred the Great in it and I didn't know he was a saint until I did some research on him while playing the game.
I have a little circle of saints I pray to every day, several where blesseds when I first started to pray to/with them. One of my favorites who I found recently is Servant of God Don Dolindo Ruotolo who came to me when I was in treatment for cancer. I pray daily for his cause for sainthood.
Hi Father! My name is Jerry and Faustina planted me in the Church after many years away. No matter how weird I get living in this world, there is always some grace that brings me close to God in His Church. I thought by now they would leave me alone, LOL! Nope! They keep coming after me. Thank God!
My entire life, St. Francis of Assisi has been my friend, teacher, and guide. I met him in my religion class when the priest was reading us a book of "new flowers" - stories as if St. Francis was alive today, what he would be saying to us, people of 20th century if he was walking on the earth. We have been close friends for almost 55 years.
How is this possible these very questions plaguing me and you just answered everything in this video. No, not too long… not long enough! God bless you. Surely the Holy Spirit is with you. 😊
I was enamored with the saints when I was very young, my grandparents gave me a picture book of saints for my first communion I read through countless times. I returned to the church a few months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed getting reacquainted with them as an adult.
Anyone else hoping Fr. Columba becomes a saint so we can pray for him to keep helping guide us on our journey to unity in Christ? As a person coming to the Catholic church, Fr. Columba's advice and teachings have been so amazing help to me. As a side note. Could Fr. Columba do a video about what a person should do if they don't have a church (either by location or not worthy) to attend for mass and receiving the eucharist? Thanks again Fr. Columba and Called to More for being such wonderful examples to imitate.
Fr. Columba I'm so very desperate to find a house I will pray to Fr. Groeschel. I humbly hope he will hear my prayer. For everyone else I just found Fr. Benedict Groeschel wrote books "The Rosary Chain of Hope" and "Praying in the Presence of Our Lord: Eucharistic Adoration" There's others too, on Amazon. Thank you Fr. Columba, yet again your videos give us hope in all sorts of different ways in the loving presence of our Lord, especially if we don't think or feel we deserve it.
Thank you Father! I'm not even Catholic but I watched Fr. Benedict Groeschel every Sunday night for years and read his books. Admittedly, I found myself tearing up while I was listening to your podcast. I can't believe that he reposed a decade ago.
Found St Faustina through you Fr Columba. Her diary and the divine mercy chaplet have been incredible blessings to my life. And my "little mother" is St Therese. I imagine St Therese and St Faustina are great friends in heaven.
For me, the "miracle worker" is Mary. Who is of course the "no 1" saint. Many less spectacular things, true, but one big, which was my conversion in a miraculous way and I won't forget that. It's the most important thing. And I recognize that St. Joseph protects and cares for our family a lot, but it's not that visible, he's humble and does it "in the background" :) I do have currently two "favorite" saints, St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Maria Goretti. I see St. Therese's intercession on my daughter, she is also her patron. St. Maria Goretti, let's see if she'll want to do something big for us, there are things we need :)
There's 2 saints that always get me choked up -- St. Therese and St. Maria Goretti. I got to visit St. Therese' relics in Los Angeles, and it was the most powerful encounter I've ever had.
Thank you for your personal experience, can not help feeling my shortcomings reading about the lives of the saints but comforted knowing they are accessible to us for their intercession.
I, too, am grateful for St. FAUSTINA and I believe this video is an answer to my prayers yesterday for confirmation of her continued influence in my earthly pilgrimage.
Thanks for this video. I have my saints dreamteam: Virgin Mary (because of my birthday Aug. 15th: she has always played been a major intercessor in my life), St Paul the Apostle (because of my name), St Thomas more (I was immensily impressed by the movie A Man for All Seasons when I was 6), St. Francis (because of my work as an environmental scientist), St Joseph, St. Lucia (I went almost blind, and through a number pf surgeries fully recoverd my vision not long ago).
I just found your video in RUclips. Amazing. I always believed in miracles: but this is a small one. Tonight I downloaded an app so that I can 'pray better'. And I started reading about St Fr Pio. But the Saint of the day was not just the sainted Father. Must have been at least 20 other saints/blessed! I don't know why I decided to watch RUclips instead of my nightly prayers. But your video came from nowhere onto my feed. No, I don't believe in coincidences; I believe that Jesus needed me to see and hear your talk about saints. Now I'm a fan! The road ahead is rocky; everyday brings a new challenge that comes my way. But I don't give up. Thank you
Praying to the saints is something I'm still struggling to figure how to do, but I hope to be able to pray with confidence once I do get it. I know alot already, but I'm still just a new convert, not even really a year old!
Bless you! And welcome home! Just ask the Saint to intercede on your behalf as they stand in the presence of God. For some Saints there are 'formal' prayers, yet just asking them to pray for and with you suffices!
I love St. Thomas Aquinas for many reasons. One reason is that he was afraid of lightning (for a completely understandable reason). I think it’s so endearing the way he would always pray so gently to the Lord in a church until the storm passed. I’m afraid of lightning too, and it’s comforting to ask his intercession and to pray with him during a scary storm.
You’ve just made me cry because I’m feeling sorry for myself and I think I’m trying too hard to please everyone and forgetting about asking the saints for help. I started reading St Faustina’s diary during lockdown but didn’t finish it so thank you! listening to this I guess I’d better get back into it. Thank you Fr Columba you’re the best! 🙏🏼📿🙂
In the script to the 30 day novena of the holy cloak of St. Joseph it states, Has not St. Teresa left it written in her dialogues that the world may always know “Whatever you ask of St. Joseph, you shall receive.”
I started praying parts of the Breviary a few years ago. It has really helped me (a convert) get to know so many of the Saints and what’s more, to interact with them and ask for their intercession.
May God assist you in leading Ireland back to Christ!
St Michael the Archangel
St. Joseph
Awww.... Faustyna Kowalska! From my country☺ I read her diaries when I was in my 20's.
Bishop Barron recommends having one Saint that’s very much like you, and another that’s the opposite of you, so that you can learn from them
Poor St Anthony, I got him on speed dial.
.... follower and seen youtube of Fr. Groeshel in a debate...very brilliant...
Thank you for talking about Fr. Benedict as a saint. It seems like I never hear anyone talking about him. Thank you for your awesome sense of humor, like St. Philip Neri!
St. Elizabeth of the Trinity and St. Maximilian Kolbe for me. ❤
Christ is our example.
Might be Saint John Bosco for me. He keeps finding ways to be relevant for my life.
I just went through RCIA last year and coming from a Bible thumpin’ southern Protestant background, I had never heard of any saints beyond Augustine. Going through RCIA, they sort of sprang the patron saint name on me. I said what do you mean? They said well which saint do you pray to the most? I always depend on St. Benedict. I call on Him for my children. St. Benedict, St. Anthony, St. Joseph terror of demons, & St. Michael also.
!!! 🙏✨️🙏
Padre Pio loves it, when you send your guardian angle to him with a potion.
I remember in one of his Sunday evening talks, he said that when he died he would like to be able to reunite lost pets with their owners. This was so sweet. ❤
aaaw🥲that's Franciscans for you

The Little Flower is my go-to saint.
Same for me 🌹

Pier Giorgio Frassati and Teresita Quevecedo are great for young people.
Ahhh there is always something about your videos that bring me so much joy, I cannot help to smile as I listen. I love your channel and I always always always get something special from your words. God bless
Thank you so much!!
Thanks! I’ll be asking.
Saint Padre Pio is my favorite. He is a miracle factory.

My wife has MS. I will pray to St Margaret of Castello for you both.

Oh, she is one of my very favorite Saints and so few seem to know her❣️❣️❣️
Saint Monica! She is the patron Saint of most of my prsyer intentions.
Ever since I read The Seven Storey Mountain, I have been drawn to Thomas Merton. I believe he helped lead to my conversion through his, and the other Trappist monks' prayers.
Blessings to our priests, religious, deacons and seminarians!
Welcome to Limerick! 🎉

Good morning Father I do ask Padre Pio to pray and to protect me always from the temptations also St Francis. St Clara, Papa Giovanni. Thank you very much please pray for all of us have a safe weekend ahead.
Will pray for you.
Thank you for the reminder of our saintly friends. I'm inspired to return to the help of St Anthony of Padua; he's always a powerful intercessor!
Yes! My patron saint!
Saint Anthony of Padua, a superstar! He has gotten me through just about everything, and it always protects my animals!
I have a special place in my heart for St Anthony of Padua. He’s my parish patron Saint
He sure is! He’s very friendly. Him and St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Oh, Fr. Groechel, please intercede for this broken soul! Thank you Jesus in advance.
Ditto, and Amen❣️😌
No. Your videos are NEVER too long. We can’t get enough.
St Joseph has been very kind to me. St Philomena is another saint who is "my saint" 🙏
St Rita is a great helper
Welcome to Limerick! So happy to have you 🙏🏻
I look to Jesus, for nobody goes to the Father except through Him.

LOL ... why am I crying ... I RESEMBLE THAT REMARK
St Thomas More (since I work in the public sector) and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frasetti are two of my favorites.
Both great witnesses!
Your videos are not too long. You're never boring, Father.
St. Anthony found me! I don’t know why he picked me, but he has blessed me many times!
Praise God!
I listen to Fr. Groeschel Rosaries almost everyday on RUclips!! We love him!! He was a big part of my conversion!! ❤️

Wonderful
We miss you Fr Columba 💖
God bless 🙏🏻
Love Matt, Jofille, Alicianna and Monica😘💕
God bless you!
Saint Catherine of Siena, Saint John Vianey, Saint Padre Pio, Saint Philomena were the ones to propel me towards total conversion.

Ah welcome back to Ireland your amazing
Thank you for your personal experience, can not help feeling my shortcomings reading about the lives of the saints but comforted knowing they are accessible to us for their intercession.
Right? I’ve asked the Lord to show me my hidden faults (gently!), and each time He does I’m like, “Ouch! But thank you Lord.!” ☺️❤️
I, too, am grateful for St. FAUSTINA and I believe this video is an answer to my prayers yesterday for confirmation of her continued influence in my earthly pilgrimage.

Fr. Columba, you should write a book.... Catholic topics 101 but you explain them with a special different dimension that makes it special.

@@Blissfulnessence Thank you! I'll make sure to remember this!
I so love Fr. Benedict Groeschel and I've read some of his books. He's a great teacher!
The Venerable Bede, St Cuthbert and St Aidan. All for different reasons, all entwined, all my heritage.
Very English! Wonderful.
God bless you, Jenny!
Got chills when he litteraly said every saint i follow,
In the script to the 30 day novena of the holy cloak of St. Joseph it states,
Has not St. Teresa left it written in her dialogues that the world may always know “Whatever you ask of St. Joseph, you shall receive.”
You are very welcome to Limerick Father.
Bet you will not want to leave. 😊
I started praying parts of the Breviary a few years ago. It has really helped me (a convert) get to know so many of the Saints and what’s more, to interact with them and ask for their intercession.
I needed this. I thank God for you. God bless you, Father
