Its just the Civil War between himself and his guitar. What a beautiful journey this man just sang to me and my wife. Thank you for continuing your music path John Paul White!
I just got turned on to this guy tonight watching the tribute to John Prine..rest his soul.. anyway I'm down the rabbit hole and might not make it out for a while..got a lot of catching up to do!
This guy is ridiculous!! Very clever songwriter, wonderful vox duet with Joy Williams (The Civil Wars), excellent player and producer. The spirit of Muscle Shoals is alive and well in this dude. The opening song reminds me of Shakey Graves (who I happened to discover before John Paul White) ..... angular and hooky.
Beautifully done John Paul! I'm now more used to seeing these songs performed with a full band but you pulled them off quite well acoustically! Hope to see you again soon on the tour! acoustically! I can't wait to hear more!
Is there anything this guy doesn’t do well?… magnificent songwriter, intricate guitarist, lithe vocalist, delicate but declarative, attention-compelling, confident, charismatic, personable….
He has admitted to his inability to actually read music. During covid when he decided to produce instruction videos on playing his songs, he said he also had to learn the chords to do this. He has been playing since he was a kid. He knows where to move his hand on the neck to create which sounds. And many times his own interpretation of chords is the best. I think of John Paul White when I think of someone who is genuinely gifted. And what a wordsmith! He is the best!❤️❤️❤️
Writing that song was from inspirational level occasionally attained: this delivery is from the right artist and I didn't make the selection: my storyline.
Jim, we all have varying tastes in music. The folk style JPW has may not be your cup of tea. I am not a big fan of pop music and I think that she seems to tend more toward that. As a guitarist myself, I am very impressed with his playing, and am constantly amazed at his voice. I don't think that you're a moron for having an opinion: it's your opinion. This guy is truly one of the best voices of our time !! Truly enjoy all of his solo music he's put out !! He keeps getting better & better ♡xx 🎵

Anybody recognize the mic he’s using?
In one of his videos, he talks about the mic, he uses, but I don't remember which one it is
❤️
And my shared dismay
Ron Belin ????? Don’t understand

At one time I thought he was the genius behind Civil Wars. Boy was I wrong.
Jim Miller what do you mean? It wasn’t Joy, with all due respect. You’re a moron if you don’t think this is sheer genius.
Guess I am a moron. Thanks for letting me know. I like President Trump too.@@marthaalexander4441
