I don't play Randoms, not since I had a 10 game loss with a total blowout with me on the top of the team. If they keep Asymmetric then it would be a great step forward in 2025.
Kind of the same for me but I’ve retreated to ranked. Generally a much higher standard of play, especially in gold. Has also let me get every steel ship and get enough doubs so I can buy 100% premium time with no money spent, and put premium camos on all my favourite TX ships.
One of the least fun times for me in this game is when I was in a battle where each team had a carrier, but our opponents had a three Kearsarge division, another lone Kearsarge, a Hildebrand, and a Halford. That was a very short battle, and we were blown out very quickly. My whole team was outraged.
The current clan battles is an admission that the mm is inadequate. Wows is using ship restrictions to balance the battles. Wows needs to update the mm.
The MM isn’t really used in clan battles, as least not the same one. Each side is a single div so it has no flexibility in the mix of ships entering battle. Instead it’s just doing more of a team tournament sort of matching. Controlling the mix in divs can only be done via restrictions. That said, the randoms MM *is* broken, it needs to have some sort of balancing beyond the five basic ship classes. It is a hard problem though because how well a random team is going to do is very unpredictable. Player skill is potentially quantifiable, as is each ship’s statistical performance… but how combinations of such things, including starting positions, are going to work out? Pretty much impossible to predict with any reliability, so is it worth even trying? Right now your chances of being on a good or bad team is much the same as anyone else’s. If a skill based system were used, and you’re good? You’re going to always get stuck on sucky teams.
@joecarlson6428 The ban is mostly just to increase diversity in clan battles same with limitations, with 2 exceptions. CV and subs are entirely banned because WG acknowledges they're deeply unbalanced. They still allow them in Randoms because F balance when they can sell premium CVs and Subs.
@@havilend3450 The broken MM is WOWs doing. They haven't fixed the various old or broken code. The MM has 25 possibilities based on 5 factors is not difficult if the code is good and the company has invested in up to date technology. They should be able to handle 8 factors or 48 possibilities.
@@joecarlson6428 Not sure what that has to do with clan battles. I agree that mm sucks but, there isn't any super easy solution. We can say mm should take all these factors into account, however, have you tried playing NA on off hours or any tiers below 7? There often isn't enough players to fill out lobbies as it is before adding a bunch of additional mm parameters. I do think there should be soft mm to balance radars & hybrids between teams, anything more probably isn't realistic given current player population.
13:16 The issue with radar ships being matched comes in with ships like the Memotaur, Yue Yang, etc, where you arent sure if it’s running radar or smoke. Quite a few ships have the option to replace a utility for radar or vice versa.
they also need to look at tier 5 and lower and make the guns, they already are low range, nothing like blowing 12 shots into the water aiming at a guy 3km away. its not fun to play those ships, the low util and range should be most of what makes them low tier, being unable to roll the dice at those close ranges doesnt make the gameplay fun
We need an expansion to low tier that gives us predreadnoughts and armoured cruisers and torpedo boats/torpedo boat destroyers. Even just like, an extension to all the BB techlines with a T2 predreadnought battleship would be cool, but it could be expanded further. Might even be worth adding new tiers, probably between T1 and T2 (since most T2s are either early WW1 or not much older).
Hybrids never lose planes, which is wrong and most Hilderbrands can just spot DD's all day long which basically means you take the DD out of the game. try playing against a 3 Hilderbrand division.
I can spot another annoying problem from the background gameplay. From red team perspective, "we have the caps advantage, let's push until we lose everything". A lot of player base don't really know how to easily win a game just by defending the caps.
majority of ganmes now I cap maybe even get 2 and all abandon and seem to spin left or right like geese so the other side flanks and both just roll around the clock.. even DD hiding now
The most rage inducing lobby as a DD is ranked when the enemy gets a Hildebrand and you get nothing. You get almost 2 minutes at the start then are spotted and chased wherever you go until they get the HE bomber off cool-down and you get killed. Then it’s a guaranteed loss.
Enjoyable experience in randoms? Not happening anymore. It is becoming a mixture of world of warplanes and silent hunter, where surface ships are just cannon fodder for planes and homing torps. So much fun and engaging being focused by sub and/or cv. Operations albeit repetitive, are actually far more fun than randoms. At least we get to use guns.
Ive been really pumping the Cerberus (I’m aussie) and even in that, subs are still a pain in the ass. A half decent sub player just stays outside of my sub detection and its then useless (unless he pings me or someone else, I have no way of knowing how far out he is and its so short in time frame, even if I do suicide charge him, or, hes actually on the surface, i get no chance to spot him) keeps me spotted and as a Cruiser, Im an easy target for BB’s and the true heavy cruisers.
While there are some problems with them, submarines and carriers are not what is really wrong with the game. If you quit a battle simply because of what ships are there, you're a lot more of what is wrong with the game than carriers and submarines are.

I agree with you on Random battles. Getting targeted over and over again by a CV is second only to a sub you can’t attack because it is outside your air strike. Homing torpedo should have a range less than all air strike. Otherwise give subs non homing torpedo. But that would require skill by the sub player
I've been playing this game since beta(almost 10 years now), and one thing I've noticed is the ridiculous amount of entitlement and complaining from players, even more complaining from those players that can't spend much money on this game compared to others. Any FREE TO PLAY game that's been around for 10 years and is still able to grow, go ahead and thank ME AND OTHER COINERS for keeping this game alive for you cry babies
Why is it being a cry baby to point out directions taken by WG that diminish the enjoyment we have in the game? I had 25k+ games in World of Tanks and WG kept pushing it in a direction I didn't like so I stopped playing and I stopped opening my wallet to them. I jumped over to WoWS and WG are again taking it in a bad direction. I much preferred WoWs the first couple of years compared to now.
There is another alternative... wowp...it is the stepchild of WG...but I gave it a chance and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. New and conceptual planes keep coming out. I know I'm in the minority, but I love that game of the brand...you may find the purity that has been tarnished in wows and not toxic (players) like wot.
I would maintain having a division of superunicums and a few random blunicums in *any ships at all* on one team vs a collection of normies on the other causes more blowouts and unsatisfying matches than anything else. The "Good players can't wait forever in queue" argument is a good one - but Supreme Commander solved it twenty years ago. You don't *need* to wait for 24 Super Unicums before they can play a game, you just need to avoid putting them all onto one team, and while the game might not have a good mechanism for Elo or PR, it's more than aware of solo winrate which is an adequate surrogate. I'm not opposed to changing the matchmaker to make it aware of hybrids or radar or gunboat vs torp DDs or whatever else anyone cares to come up with, but if we're actually going to open that whole area for discussion then hybrids are not the priority.
Same clan, 3-ship division of HildebrandtsPLUS a hybrid Dutch cruiser on the red team. My side had no hybrid ships. One CV per side and a (diff clans) 2-ship div of Hildebrandts on the red side. Could definitely use some tweaking with the MM. And maybe allowing no hybrid ships divisions!
More people should spec into AA and make hybrid ships annoying to play. Like I just came back after ~3 years and my Mino and Des Moines absolutely melt squadrons to the point where the only thinking I do is tap priority sector when I see a plane symbol coming close.
The real problem is the spotting, for a CA you can deal with the planes in open water but risk taking cits and good CV/hybrid players can always easily kill you if you stay by an island which hinders AA performance.
you are still spotted forever and they have infinite planes unless they brain dead run every single plane in a straight line at you and dont just pick off your team
If WG needs room to grow: WG could add a Korean War Battle Mode where T9 on up ... T12, T13 etc can be added. Players with T9-T11 ships could still play regular modes, but T12 on up would be Korean War mode only.

Imo the hildebrand should have been a cv with a main battery instead of a cruiser with planes. Will be interesting what wargaming decides to do with hybrid ships in the cv rework.
The more ships the less chance of rare ships in in boxes the more people buy boxes , Newer players missed out on many greats ships and are now trying to fund their WR by thinking that dropping 600 Dollars on boxes will get them that Benham or Kamikaze in truth the more ships released the more people have to spend in order to receive these ships and I have never ever known a rare ship to drop out of a crate unless you own all the other dross first.
Got Missouri as my first ever crate drop so I don't know how true that is lol. Although obviously your chances are lower and your right that it's only getting worse with more ships
I´ve been playing this game for almost 7 years now and I have gotten to the point where I don´t play Randoms anymore unless I´m in a division with one or two clan mates. Why? Because every game, at least in high tier, is filled with CVs, hybrids and subs. It´s getting to the point where playing ¨surface ships¨ is almost pointless and not fun anymore. More than once, I´ve been targeted by planes and a sub AT THE SAME TIME and it has made me rage quit a couple of times. CVs, hybrids and subs are cancer for the game, but WG doesn´t give a shit because it makes them money. In the end, that is my biggest frustration with this game.
Even in the early days when radar was the OP feature, the complaints of MM stacking radars on one side and not the other were common. But sooner or later WG will give us their CV spotting nerf. BIMHO a lot of complaining will be about DDs that refuse to push, so no one will spot for the BBs.
DDs are hesitant to push because so few support ships or BBs will move into positions that can effectively support DDs while they push and spot. Then the DDs get blamed for suicide. I used to play mostly DD, but now I'm a BB main and I try like hell to support DDs that are doing what they can, but often it leads to my death because I'm the only BB that does it and the others on my flank either run or stay to far back and this results in my being focused to death. Overall it's a shitty meta these days compared to many years ago

Everybody screaming for spotting so I go left on Two Brothers and lo and behold, I'm there on my own in a DD spotting and there's not a single ship remotely close to actually shoot anything I spot. Then I get outspotted by a shima and of course they've got an Agir, Marceau, FDR and sub all shooting the sh!t out of me and I die. Then get chat going nuts about suicide DD's 😑🤔

would love if they implemented fuel mechanic, map spotting and limit to the hybrid planes also would be greatest if they put some sort of citadel critical where you can get a flash fire and see those turrets fly away.
I'm not sure WG is really that concerned about making crap up. Almost everything in the Russian line is pure baloney, and half of almost every other nation that's not a signatory to the naval treaty of the 1930s. Hybrids are problem in the hands of a good player that actually knows how to play them, but most don't. Jingles ran a video not long ago with a CV and 6 hybrids against a a a team with a CV and 1 hybrids. The team with all the hybrids, lost BAD, because they all played like CVs usually do, sitting in the back launch planes.
The biggest problem with WOW right now are the players. The biggest issue is players are not going after the caps. This is something I have noticed the past two or three months. I have been in games with four DD's per team, and more often than not the DD's ignore the caps and either go hunting. In many cases they will now hide behind islands. There are two ways to win. Either sink every ship on the enemy team, or by caps. Caps are just as important as sinking ships. The same goes for people playing cruisers and BB's. They are not covering the DD's or other ships when they do try and cap. Another thing that is wrong are all of what I call fantasy ships. Ships that were never built. All these hybrid ships and ships that were only on the drawing board. They should only stick to ships that were actually built and fought in WW II.
As a DD player, the trouble with pushing the caps in anything except for a decent close-range gunboat is that the enemy cruiser radars you, the enemy carrier or hybrid spots you and absconds with half your health, and you get blown up in about thirty seconds. I often have to sacrifice myself in order to take caps, so I have to balance 'staying alive to the late game to spot for my team' and 'actually taking caps'. The lack of BB or cruiser cover is also a problem. The situation could be improved by making radar not go through islands and giving CVs something like the BB debuff to their damage against destroyers (although perhaps not as extreme), and the spotting changes in the CV re-rework test will also help. As for fantasy ships, good luck completing a tech tree to Tier 10 without them lol - the only line I can name off the top of my head where every ship from T2-T10 is real would be the Japanese torpedo DDs, although there might be others I doubt there's very many others. If you removed superships, T10 and maybe T9 then maybe it might be possible but there would be nowhere near as many techlines.
@taiko1237 I have only one super ship. The Japanese BB. I've only played it a few times. Even winning a game with the economic bonus set. I have always lost credits playing it. I don't pay to play. So playing that ship is not in my best interest to play if all I do is loose credits. I'm guessing other players have the same issue. Otherwise they would be in every game.
Carriers and subs were already enough. Hybrids are even more shenenigans. Soon ordinary ships will have no reason to be played. Probably made for gen Alpha who would get bored waiting for reload so they can play with airplanes in meantime. At least plane spotting should not be a thing. If planes could not spot for ship and allies, it would be much better. Edit: Having limited number of carriers or subs just means that enemy can be pro cv player and ally new and such 2 people will have huge impact on whole game.
That’s from a business pov. From a playability or fun pov I hope they run out of premiums personally all it does is make the game harder for tech tree players with so many premium ships available to BUY. So I don’t care about big name ships. If they were actual vessels that’s sailed pm the open sea they’re all big name ships to me
@@clmwrx Plane spotting would be absolutely easy to nerf, but they do not want. They could do it like in cyclone, planes see target, target is visible on minimap, but others do not see target unless spotted by ships.
WWII showed BB's we obsolete. If they want to address buff and new ship creep, they should introduce more upgrades. Like radar for every ship and radar guide anti air defenses. It would change the game dramatically and open new tech component trees to grind, like missiles. Include the grind for premium ships as well. Get rid the of the Tier system and introduce battle ratings.

First I consider myself a “Jack of all trades master of none” when it comes to ships types. I feel the a large problem with hybrids, tactical squadrons and lesser extent Dutch cruisers is they can’t be deplaned. Standard CVs can be! One solution could be is give hybrids, Dutch, etc a plane compartment that could be disabled/destroyed like any other armorment.
On one hand I enjoy the simplicity of the 3 classes [yes I know there are 5 but what I am about to say doesn't concern the uncharted 2 other] but sometimes the matchmaking is just an absolute bruh moment and also every ship being classed the same with vague descriptions of the techtrees doesn't help new players too much. So I thought that maybe they could do something like world of tanks where its: versatile medium tank for example so [role] [type of tank]. On a very simple level it could be for cruisers: Ultra Light [Jinan line], Light, Heavy, Super Heavy [Azuma, Alaska, Kronshtadt] and Hybrid and for battleships: Battlecruiser, Battleship and Aviation Battleship. I guess you could go even more in depth maybe even divide DDs and give each sub class a unique icon but I don't know if that would be too much. But at least something because it's not fun when the insanely uneven games happen even if it's not too often.
Uhm I think this was addressed like a couple of yrs ago, when almost everyone was 100% sure where WG were going with the changes implemented. The future of the game? Everyone who wasnt a damn potato in the game knew it. The thing with this game is that it requires certain skills, and WG took care of new players didnt learn those skills, plus a fast leveling, so, you see ppl with 50 battles in t10 ships literally not having a clue how to play certain class, what ammo use, how deep water torps works, how range in torps works; then also you have a big % of those players with 50 battles in randoms but like 5000 in coop playing ops and asymm expecting those bots behave the same as the coop and you see them dying in the 1st min of the battle. And bots accounts or dunno what, but ppl with 100 battles or less, accounts created 5 yrs ago playing ops really late in the night and behaving like coop bots. I left randoms like 2 yrs ago and only play if I really must do, for certain missions. Not worthy being frustrated and in a bad mood because some blind, brainless idiots playing as your teammates.
German Raider line, Japanese aircraft capable submarine line, more TXI ships with rockets or missiles, French gun submarines, german main BB rework, separating escort CV's from fleet CV's. I play Chikuma II at a high level, but I never see any Hildebrands.
For me this game has no future, sadly. WoWs playerbase has to be the most stupid and incompetent out of any, even in Asymm, people play like bots. On top of that, is the inability to balance the game and the MM + pay2win. Dunno why Wargaming and Gaijin can't make their games fair.
Matchmaking also needs to fix submarine surveillance ships. The number of times you play one and there is no Submarine is wild and feels deliberate. And in the event of a once-in-a-lifetime, you get a sub. You spawn on the opposite flank. And why not give all radar ships submarine surveillance, and they can choose one or the other? There aren't enough submarine surveillance ships, and they are all long-range cruisers, lol.
When it comes to Hildebrand, I think _most_ new premium ships are when they first come out. But I haven't seen one in over a week now. (At least that I remember.) It's passing now, but surely I'm not the only who's had the entire Dutch Air Force out and about with 4-5 Prins Van Oranges in a game, multiple times. People like trying out their new shiny piece of digital steel, but it fades after a week or so.
Hope you feel better Sea Lord, What WG *NEEDS* to do is balance them so they are equal per team when 1 team has 2 and the other has none that is an almost guaranteed loss for the team that has none. And speaking of spotting *NEVER UNINTENTIONAL With Me* 😁
Unfortunately after starting off a decade ago.. I remember a golden era in my opinion. Where the focus was on plain ole ship to ship battles.. no funny buttons no radar cv’s were a top down rpg game.. as for now I’m happier playing operations an asymmetrical battles. There is more team work in these modes and less toxic
Paper ships are ok, as long as there is some indication they were seriously contemplated. But, imho, ships that weren't even drawn, and I mean not even on napkin drawings, not necessarily drawn up by a director of naval acquisitions.
I can deal with reasonable hypotheticals (like Harugumo, for example - a ship which was never historically designed but makes logical sense as a next step from Kitakaze, a real design). Some ships aren't even that, however - they're literally alt-history fantasies (like the current dockyard).
I started WoWs in beta and earlier this year, I requested my account to be deleted. Fast forward months and I made a new account to see what the game was like and it's still just as bad as I remember. I had a 57% win rate and suddenly, I'm getting put into teams with half the players AFK and my win rate goes down to 48%. Then you get little bundles of sticks telling you "HA! LOOK AT UR WIN RATE!" as they swipe their credit card for another £150. I've actually got to the point where I'll celebrate and pop a bottle when WoWs dies.
I stopped playing random because I don't enjoy it anymore, I just do ranked or operations. I also believe that Germany should get more tier X premium cruisers as I have been wanting that for a while now.
MM needs a full over haul 9 years later. When there were 3 countries it was fine, but with all the lines know, and all the statistics out there....there is no reason they could not revamp and improve their MM system. Hybrid balance, Radar balance , could even through some PR/Win Rate metrics in if they really wanted. Their system is out dated and not good though....and is a large reason for most of the lopsided games we normally see
I hate paper ships. It's the whole reason I basically only play over the Christmas. I have no problem with hybrids, or subs. Neither is half as bad as CVs. But it's common to play a game where there is 1 or 2 real ships, the rest is just paper ships. The whole idea of combining history with gaming, which I love, is gone. Petro, Nakhimov, Libertad .. that's the hot stuff. Fuck that. Everyone has hundreds of ships, and plays handful. Did we need that ? Can't we milk the whales on cosmetics and captains ?
The Tone with a three minute cool down, or load time at the start, is often in a situation where you cannot leave the ship on autopilot to fly the planes. (my want is to have the planes ready to go at the start of the match, and also have all ships' torpedoes ready to go too.Though that may not be as much a problem in Randoms with it's current static play.) I thought I heard, or read, somewhere the WG was goint to change plane spotting, so only the ship they are from see the ships?
General ask for help, my world of warships has suddenly become laggy and stuttering constantly, I have downgraded my settings, updated my driver, altered my settings etc, but nothing has changed, it's almost game breaking and it makes it really unfun to play, can anyone help please
Hey did you notice in the new santa video...the chick is piloting the ship. The man is standing around like...omg you're so stunning and brave. That tells me lots about this game. Do you know how many times the enemy team gets two radar ships and we get none! Way to many to be a mistake or simple error. The MM is deliberate thats my opinion.
give hybrids a tag on matchmaking, radar ships a tag, make the matchmaking bigger, and give aa some love, maybe take out the planes hability to detect if they dont come from a cv, subs i think they arent that bad, of you really want to you could lower some base values and that should fix some things, but wg loves money
Planes, planes and more planes. World of Aviation Warfare. They've known planes are a problem for a long time and have done absolutely nothing about it. Subs were nerfed across the board and every ship given buffs against them. Yet subs are the lowest in stats in every important category. And subs haven't been around since the beginning like carriers. Yet they still have only managed to nerf Carriers once and not near enough even then, not too mention all the buffs they've still been given. Why not give everyone 10K AA like ASW? I find the game less appealing almost every day. It's getting hard to log in and actually enjoy the game in todays meta. Concealment on a ship means nothing anymore. So just sit behind an island and poke out when the planes are gone and shoot. Then hide again cause planes are spotting you from half the board away. lots of fun.
I wish I had Hildebrand. It seems like a fun ship to play. I almost collected all the hybrid ships. But yeah they need to remove the plane sporting and do what the Russians did with their planes. Make it simple.
well CV , then its Large Cruiser , then SS , then Hybrid .. basically the game had been trying to kill anyone not playing any of these and not anyone in a able to tank and range BB , Cruisers are hit the hardest but DD are not better off , and many BB suffer just as but at least they had the armor , HP and healing to kind of able to stand it .. and yes gimmick when not properly balanced just made for a game totally unfair for those who are playing on the under privileged team , one team had all the Radars or one team had all the larger / super cruisers when the MM think the other team can fight the same with only CL , the list goes on and on , Random just need a total Match Making overhaul
Have you seen Steel Hunter? Its in the wargame launcher as a beta right now, but they have done a terrible job advertising it. I think between that and project coldwar, we might see a slowed pace in warships.

You still have the rest of Battleship Row from Pearl Harbor (ok, the PENNSYLANIA was in Drydock) to be released. That's about all I am waiting for. They (WG) will likely come out, eventually, with the SORCOUF, and I loathe subs in the game.
SLM now seeing dd hiding behind islands with CN and BB and not evening challenging caps or supporting DD?Sub. Is there some new mechanism or are they protecting stats or what? the bots in Asymmetric are better team players than 9/10 these days and in any game where there is some coms and life we win. Is it possible they have secret bots or players are doing something for points? driving me crazy I know I'm not this bad. Even taking photos of end position now to show where they are v me in case its my positioning or timing... also 8/10 are min 3-5 dd or subs?? also in Asymmetric can win well with a few kills, and those t10 bots are ruthless when they lock on so pretty sure somethings changed or I am missing a trick.
I'm playing MODERN WARSHIPS now! For a 1,5 year or so...I came back to WW and uninstalled it after 20 mins. BORED AND NOTHING CHANGED it's even worse than ever
USS Washington and USS South Dakota should be added. South Dakota can get a funny button that increases accuracy by 50% for 40 seconds but has a 35% chance of knocking out all electronics for 60 seconds.
Scariest part as you said they can make tech tree of hybrid CA/BBs because these plans are in plan Z papers in both variants At same time… there is still CV rework in long future ahead and I still believe it will help as BB should have more inaccurate guns too but people can’t hit nothing with Tennessee guns… and only who is in world of pain are DDs as CL have AA (mostly) and CA chance to dodge or move in pack DDs are single unit in open to do everything. DDs are just hardest and most painful class to play in these matches.

All told, you could easily get over 100 ships from the royal Navy itself, perhaps several hundred considering proposed modernisations (not the paper crap that constituted a brief drawing, a quick conversation, with no real thought put into it, never to be spoken of again, that get's taken and put into game over real ship's), as well as more from variants of the ship's throughout their careers. Imagine what you could get from the US Navy.

I don't play Randoms, not since I had a 10 game loss with a total blowout with me on the top of the team. If they keep Asymmetric then it would be a great step forward in 2025.
Teams are suiciding just as bad in asym. Its unbelievable to see the game give you a victory and your team still chooses to suicide
They're NOT keeping asymmetric battles. They go away with the 14.0 patch.

Kind of the same for me but I’ve retreated to ranked. Generally a much higher standard of play, especially in gold.
Has also let me get every steel ship and get enough doubs so I can buy 100% premium time with no money spent, and put premium camos on all my favourite TX ships.
If you dont like random and you are losing all time, is because your are bad, play coop and you will be fine.
One of the least fun times for me in this game is when I was in a battle where each team had a carrier, but our opponents had a three Kearsarge division, another lone Kearsarge, a Hildebrand, and a Halford. That was a very short battle, and we were blown out very quickly. My whole team was outraged.
Start a game without any premiums,hybrids, cv's, and sub's. I'd pay extra to have a plain Wows game.
The current clan battles is an admission that the mm is inadequate. Wows is using ship restrictions to balance the battles. Wows needs to update the mm.
The MM isn’t really used in clan battles, as least not the same one. Each side is a single div so it has no flexibility in the mix of ships entering battle. Instead it’s just doing more of a team tournament sort of matching. Controlling the mix in divs can only be done via restrictions.
That said, the randoms MM *is* broken, it needs to have some sort of balancing beyond the five basic ship classes. It is a hard problem though because how well a random team is going to do is very unpredictable. Player skill is potentially quantifiable, as is each ship’s statistical performance… but how combinations of such things, including starting positions, are going to work out? Pretty much impossible to predict with any reliability, so is it worth even trying? Right now your chances of being on a good or bad team is much the same as anyone else’s. If a skill based system were used, and you’re good? You’re going to always get stuck on sucky teams.

@joecarlson6428 The ban is mostly just to increase diversity in clan battles same with limitations, with 2 exceptions. CV and subs are entirely banned because WG acknowledges they're deeply unbalanced. They still allow them in Randoms because F balance when they can sell premium CVs and Subs.
@@havilend3450 The broken MM is WOWs doing. They haven't fixed the various old or broken code. The MM has 25 possibilities based on 5 factors is not difficult if the code is good and the company has invested in up to date technology. They should be able to handle 8 factors or 48 possibilities.
@@joecarlson6428 Not sure what that has to do with clan battles. I agree that mm sucks but, there isn't any super easy solution. We can say mm should take all these factors into account, however, have you tried playing NA on off hours or any tiers below 7? There often isn't enough players to fill out lobbies as it is before adding a bunch of additional mm parameters. I do think there should be soft mm to balance radars & hybrids between teams, anything more probably isn't realistic given current player population.

13:16 The issue with radar ships being matched comes in with ships like the Memotaur, Yue Yang, etc, where you arent sure if it’s running radar or smoke. Quite a few ships have the option to replace a utility for radar or vice versa.

they also need to look at tier 5 and lower and make the guns, they already are low range, nothing like blowing 12 shots into the water aiming at a guy 3km away. its not fun to play those ships, the low util and range should be most of what makes them low tier, being unable to roll the dice at those close ranges doesnt make the gameplay fun
I still take out my tier 5 premiums when I'm frustrated and have some of my most fun games in those.
tx ships at t6?7 would be best. Team play seem stronger. but below t8 ships are dull after playing 10
We need an expansion to low tier that gives us predreadnoughts and armoured cruisers and torpedo boats/torpedo boat destroyers. Even just like, an extension to all the BB techlines with a T2 predreadnought battleship would be cool, but it could be expanded further. Might even be worth adding new tiers, probably between T1 and T2 (since most T2s are either early WW1 or not much older).
Hybrids never lose planes, which is wrong and most Hilderbrands can just spot DD's all day long which basically means you take the DD out of the game. try playing against a 3 Hilderbrand division.
I can spot another annoying problem from the background gameplay. From red team perspective, "we have the caps advantage, let's push until we lose everything". A lot of player base don't really know how to easily win a game just by defending the caps.
majority of ganmes now I cap maybe even get 2 and all abandon and seem to spin left or right like geese so the other side flanks and both just roll around the clock.. even DD hiding now
Jingles showed a game a few weeks ago with 7 carriers, including hybrids: 2 on one side and 5 on the other.
The most rage inducing lobby as a DD is ranked when the enemy gets a Hildebrand and you get nothing.
You get almost 2 minutes at the start then are spotted and chased wherever you go until they get the HE bomber off cool-down and you get killed. Then it’s a guaranteed loss.
Enjoyable experience in randoms? Not happening anymore. It is becoming a mixture of world of warplanes and silent hunter, where surface ships are just cannon fodder for planes and homing torps. So much fun and engaging being focused by sub and/or cv.
Operations albeit repetitive, are actually far more fun than randoms. At least we get to use guns.
Ive been really pumping the Cerberus (I’m aussie) and even in that, subs are still a pain in the ass. A half decent sub player just stays outside of my sub detection and its then useless (unless he pings me or someone else, I have no way of knowing how far out he is and its so short in time frame, even if I do suicide charge him, or, hes actually on the surface, i get no chance to spot him) keeps me spotted and as a Cruiser, Im an easy target for BB’s and the true heavy cruisers.
Had 3 games with 2 Subs and CV , just gave up. Not my cup of tea...
While there are some problems with them, submarines and carriers are not what is really wrong with the game.
If you quit a battle simply because of what ships are there, you're a lot more of what is wrong with the game than carriers and submarines are.

I agree with you on Random battles. Getting targeted over and over again by a CV is second only to a sub you can’t attack because it is outside your air strike. Homing torpedo should have a range less than all air strike. Otherwise give subs non homing torpedo. But that would require skill by the sub player

Why is it being a cry baby to point out directions taken by WG that diminish the enjoyment we have in the game? I had 25k+ games in World of Tanks and WG kept pushing it in a direction I didn't like so I stopped playing and I stopped opening my wallet to them. I jumped over to WoWS and WG are again taking it in a bad direction. I much preferred WoWs the first couple of years compared to now.
There is another alternative... wowp...it is the stepchild of WG...but I gave it a chance and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. New and conceptual planes keep coming out.
I know I'm in the minority, but I love that game of the brand...you may find the purity that has been tarnished in wows and not toxic (players) like wot.

I would maintain having a division of superunicums and a few random blunicums in *any ships at all* on one team vs a collection of normies on the other causes more blowouts and unsatisfying matches than anything else. The "Good players can't wait forever in queue" argument is a good one - but Supreme Commander solved it twenty years ago. You don't *need* to wait for 24 Super Unicums before they can play a game, you just need to avoid putting them all onto one team, and while the game might not have a good mechanism for Elo or PR, it's more than aware of solo winrate which is an adequate surrogate.
I'm not opposed to changing the matchmaker to make it aware of hybrids or radar or gunboat vs torp DDs or whatever else anyone cares to come up with, but if we're actually going to open that whole area for discussion then hybrids are not the priority.

One CV per side and a (diff clans) 2-ship div of Hildebrandts on the red side.
Could definitely use some tweaking with the MM. And maybe allowing no hybrid ships divisions!
More people should spec into AA and make hybrid ships annoying to play. Like I just came back after ~3 years and my Mino and Des Moines absolutely melt squadrons to the point where the only thinking I do is tap priority sector when I see a plane symbol coming close.
The real problem is the spotting, for a CA you can deal with the planes in open water but risk taking cits and good CV/hybrid players can always easily kill you if you stay by an island which hinders AA performance.

If WG needs room to grow: WG could add a Korean War Battle Mode where T9 on up ... T12, T13 etc can be added. Players with T9-T11 ships could still play regular modes, but T12 on up would be Korean War mode only.

The more ships the less chance of rare ships in in boxes the more people buy boxes , Newer players missed out on many greats ships and are now trying to fund their WR by thinking that dropping 600 Dollars on boxes will get them that Benham or Kamikaze in truth the more ships released the more people have to spend in order to receive these ships and I have never ever known a rare ship to drop out of a crate unless you own all the other dross first.
Got Missouri as my first ever crate drop so I don't know how true that is lol. Although obviously your chances are lower and your right that it's only getting worse with more ships

I´ve been playing this game for almost 7 years now and I have gotten to the point where I don´t play Randoms anymore unless I´m in a division with one or two clan mates. Why? Because every game, at least in high tier, is filled with CVs, hybrids and subs. It´s getting to the point where playing ¨surface ships¨ is almost pointless and not fun anymore. More than once, I´ve been targeted by planes and a sub AT THE SAME TIME and it has made me rage quit a couple of times. CVs, hybrids and subs are cancer for the game, but WG doesn´t give a shit because it makes them money. In the end, that is my biggest frustration with this game.

They really should add rule in MM like "mirroring hybrid ships" or else this is gonna go even worse that it is now

Even in the early days when radar was the OP feature, the complaints of MM stacking radars on one side and not the other were common. But sooner or later WG will give us their CV spotting nerf. BIMHO a lot of complaining will be about DDs that refuse to push, so no one will spot for the BBs.
DDs are hesitant to push because so few support ships or BBs will move into positions that can effectively support DDs while they push and spot. Then the DDs get blamed for suicide. I used to play mostly DD, but now I'm a BB main and I try like hell to support DDs that are doing what they can, but often it leads to my death because I'm the only BB that does it and the others on my flank either run or stay to far back and this results in my being focused to death. Overall it's a shitty meta these days compared to many years ago

Everybody screaming for spotting so I go left on Two Brothers and lo and behold, I'm there on my own in a DD spotting and there's not a single ship remotely close to actually shoot anything I spot.
Then I get outspotted by a shima and of course they've got an Agir, Marceau, FDR and sub all shooting the sh!t out of me and I die.
Then get chat going nuts about suicide DD's 😑🤔

would love if they implemented fuel mechanic, map spotting and limit to the hybrid planes also would be greatest if they put some sort of citadel critical where you can get a flash fire and see those turrets fly away.
I'm not sure WG is really that concerned about making crap up. Almost everything in the Russian line is pure baloney, and half of almost every other nation that's not a signatory to the naval treaty of the 1930s. Hybrids are problem in the hands of a good player that actually knows how to play them, but most don't. Jingles ran a video not long ago with a CV and 6 hybrids against a a a team with a CV and 1 hybrids. The team with all the hybrids, lost BAD, because they all played like CVs usually do, sitting in the back launch planes.
The biggest problem with WOW right now are the players. The biggest issue is players are not going after the caps. This is something I have noticed the past two or three months. I have been in games with four DD's per team, and more often than not the DD's ignore the caps and either go hunting. In many cases they will now hide behind islands. There are two ways to win. Either sink every ship on the enemy team, or by caps. Caps are just as important as sinking ships. The same goes for people playing cruisers and BB's. They are not covering the DD's or other ships when they do try and cap. Another thing that is wrong are all of what I call fantasy ships. Ships that were never built. All these hybrid ships and ships that were only on the drawing board. They should only stick to ships that were actually built and fought in WW II.
As a DD player, the trouble with pushing the caps in anything except for a decent close-range gunboat is that the enemy cruiser radars you, the enemy carrier or hybrid spots you and absconds with half your health, and you get blown up in about thirty seconds. I often have to sacrifice myself in order to take caps, so I have to balance 'staying alive to the late game to spot for my team' and 'actually taking caps'. The lack of BB or cruiser cover is also a problem. The situation could be improved by making radar not go through islands and giving CVs something like the BB debuff to their damage against destroyers (although perhaps not as extreme), and the spotting changes in the CV re-rework test will also help.
As for fantasy ships, good luck completing a tech tree to Tier 10 without them lol - the only line I can name off the top of my head where every ship from T2-T10 is real would be the Japanese torpedo DDs, although there might be others I doubt there's very many others. If you removed superships, T10 and maybe T9 then maybe it might be possible but there would be nowhere near as many techlines.
@taiko1237 I have only one super ship. The Japanese BB. I've only played it a few times. Even winning a game with the economic bonus set. I have always lost credits playing it. I don't pay to play. So playing that ship is not in my best interest to play if all I do is loose credits. I'm guessing other players have the same issue. Otherwise they would be in every game.

Carriers and subs were already enough. Hybrids are even more shenenigans. Soon ordinary ships will have no reason to be played. Probably made for gen Alpha who would get bored waiting for reload so they can play with airplanes in meantime.
At least plane spotting should not be a thing. If planes could not spot for ship and allies, it would be much better.
Edit: Having limited number of carriers or subs just means that enemy can be pro cv player and ally new and such 2 people will have huge impact on whole game.

Hybrids can easily be balanced by increasing the reload time of the squadron depending on the number of planes lost.
Or just start the reload after the strike

WWII showed BB's we obsolete. If they want to address buff and new ship creep, they should introduce more upgrades. Like radar for every ship and radar guide anti air defenses. It would change the game dramatically and open new tech component trees to grind, like missiles. Include the grind for premium ships as well. Get rid the of the Tier system and introduce battle ratings.

First I consider myself a “Jack of all trades master of none” when it comes to ships types. I feel the a large problem with hybrids, tactical squadrons and lesser extent Dutch cruisers is they can’t be deplaned. Standard CVs can be! One solution could be is give hybrids, Dutch, etc a plane compartment that could be disabled/destroyed like any other armorment.

On one hand I enjoy the simplicity of the 3 classes [yes I know there are 5 but what I am about to say doesn't concern the uncharted 2 other] but sometimes the matchmaking is just an absolute bruh moment and also every ship being classed the same with vague descriptions of the techtrees doesn't help new players too much. So I thought that maybe they could do something like world of tanks where its: versatile medium tank for example so [role] [type of tank]. On a very simple level it could be for cruisers: Ultra Light [Jinan line], Light, Heavy, Super Heavy [Azuma, Alaska, Kronshtadt] and Hybrid and for battleships: Battlecruiser, Battleship and Aviation Battleship. I guess you could go even more in depth maybe even divide DDs and give each sub class a unique icon but I don't know if that would be too much. But at least something because it's not fun when the insanely uneven games happen even if it's not too often.
Uhm I think this was addressed like a couple of yrs ago, when almost everyone was 100% sure where WG were going with the changes implemented. The future of the game? Everyone who wasnt a damn potato in the game knew it. The thing with this game is that it requires certain skills, and WG took care of new players didnt learn those skills, plus a fast leveling, so, you see ppl with 50 battles in t10 ships literally not having a clue how to play certain class, what ammo use, how deep water torps works, how range in torps works; then also you have a big % of those players with 50 battles in randoms but like 5000 in coop playing ops and asymm expecting those bots behave the same as the coop and you see them dying in the 1st min of the battle. And bots accounts or dunno what, but ppl with 100 battles or less, accounts created 5 yrs ago playing ops really late in the night and behaving like coop bots. I left randoms like 2 yrs ago and only play if I really must do, for certain missions. Not worthy being frustrated and in a bad mood because some blind, brainless idiots playing as your teammates.

German Raider line, Japanese aircraft capable submarine line, more TXI ships with rockets or missiles, French gun submarines, german main BB rework, separating escort CV's from fleet CV's. I play Chikuma II at a high level, but I never see any Hildebrands.
For me this game has no future, sadly.
WoWs playerbase has to be the most stupid and incompetent out of any, even in Asymm, people play like bots.
On top of that, is the inability to balance the game and the MM + pay2win.

Matchmaking also needs to fix submarine surveillance ships. The number of times you play one and there is no Submarine is wild and feels deliberate. And in the event of a once-in-a-lifetime, you get a sub. You spawn on the opposite flank. And why not give all radar ships submarine surveillance, and they can choose one or the other? There aren't enough submarine surveillance ships, and they are all long-range cruisers, lol.
Honestly my biggest complaint is that the hybrids steal my Combat Scout medals while having zero risk for maximal reward
When it comes to Hildebrand, I think _most_ new premium ships are when they first come out. But I haven't seen one in over a week now. (At least that I remember.)
It's passing now, but surely I'm not the only who's had the entire Dutch Air Force out and about with 4-5 Prins Van Oranges in a game, multiple times.
People like trying out their new shiny piece of digital steel, but it fades after a week or so.
We could still get uss Washington, the last Iowa. I'd love a temporary game mode with pre dreadnoughts and maybe ironclad ships of the line

The weather in New England went up to 60 degrees the last 2 days. Today around 20 degrees and by the weekend it's going back down to single digits.
Unfortunately after starting off a decade ago.. I remember a golden era in my opinion. Where the focus was on plain ole ship to ship battles.. no funny buttons no radar cv’s were a top down rpg game.. as for now I’m happier playing operations an asymmetrical battles. There is more team work in these modes and less toxic
Paper ships are ok, as long as there is some indication they were seriously contemplated. But, imho, ships that weren't even drawn, and I mean not even on napkin drawings, not necessarily drawn up by a director of naval acquisitions.
I can deal with reasonable hypotheticals (like Harugumo, for example - a ship which was never historically designed but makes logical sense as a next step from Kitakaze, a real design). Some ships aren't even that, however - they're literally alt-history fantasies (like the current dockyard).

I started WoWs in beta and earlier this year, I requested my account to be deleted. Fast forward months and I made a new account to see what the game was like and it's still just as bad as I remember. I had a 57% win rate and suddenly, I'm getting put into teams with half the players AFK and my win rate goes down to 48%. Then you get little bundles of sticks telling you "HA! LOOK AT UR WIN RATE!" as they swipe their credit card for another £150.
I've actually got to the point where I'll celebrate and pop a bottle when WoWs dies.

I stopped playing random because I don't enjoy it anymore, I just do ranked or operations. I also believe that Germany should get more tier X premium cruisers as I have been wanting that for a while now.
MM needs a full over haul 9 years later. When there were 3 countries it was fine, but with all the lines know, and all the statistics out there....there is no reason they could not revamp and improve their MM system. Hybrid balance, Radar balance , could even through some PR/Win Rate metrics in if they really wanted. Their system is out dated and not good though....and is a large reason for most of the lopsided games we normally see

I hate paper ships. It's the whole reason I basically only play over the Christmas. I have no problem with hybrids, or subs. Neither is half as bad as CVs. But it's common to play a game where there is 1 or 2 real ships, the rest is just paper ships. The whole idea of combining history with gaming, which I love, is gone. Petro, Nakhimov, Libertad .. that's the hot stuff. Fuck that.
Everyone has hundreds of ships, and plays handful. Did we need that ? Can't we milk the whales on cosmetics and captains ?

Went into a T10 game with 3 subs, 4 dds and 1 cv.
The Tone with a three minute cool down, or load time at the start, is often in a situation where you cannot leave the ship on autopilot to fly the planes. (my want is to have the planes ready to go at the start of the match, and also have all ships' torpedoes ready to go too.Though that may not be as much a problem in Randoms with it's current static play.)
I thought I heard, or read, somewhere the WG was goint to change plane spotting, so only the ship they are from see the ships?
General ask for help, my world of warships has suddenly become laggy and stuttering constantly, I have downgraded my settings, updated my driver, altered my settings etc, but nothing has changed, it's almost game breaking and it makes it really unfun to play, can anyone help please
Hey did you notice in the new santa video...the chick is piloting the ship. The man is standing around like...omg you're so stunning and brave. That tells me lots about this game. Do you know how many times the enemy team gets two radar ships and we get none! Way to many to be a mistake or simple error. The MM is deliberate thats my opinion.
I think asimetricks could help to keep weak players away from randoms and ranked.
give hybrids a tag on matchmaking, radar ships a tag, make the matchmaking bigger, and give aa some love, maybe take out the planes hability to detect if they dont come from a cv, subs i think they arent that bad, of you really want to you could lower some base values and that should fix some things, but wg loves money
Planes, planes and more planes. World of Aviation Warfare. They've known planes are a problem for a long time and have done absolutely nothing about it. Subs were nerfed across the board and every ship given buffs against them. Yet subs are the lowest in stats in every important category. And subs haven't been around since the beginning like carriers. Yet they still have only managed to nerf Carriers once and not near enough even then, not too mention all the buffs they've still been given. Why not give everyone 10K AA like ASW? I find the game less appealing almost every day. It's getting hard to log in and actually enjoy the game in todays meta. Concealment on a ship means nothing anymore. So just sit behind an island and poke out when the planes are gone and shoot. Then hide again cause planes are spotting you from half the board away. lots of fun.
I wish I had Hildebrand. It seems like a fun ship to play. I almost collected all the hybrid ships. But yeah they need to remove the plane sporting and do what the Russians did with their planes. Make it simple.
Why haven't you done a Santa Create opening? You have a lot of tier 10 ships to get Certificates. What's up?

well CV , then its Large Cruiser , then SS , then Hybrid .. basically the game had been trying to kill anyone not playing any of these and not anyone in a able to tank and range BB , Cruisers are hit the hardest but DD are not better off , and many BB suffer just as but at least they had the armor , HP and healing to kind of able to stand it ..
and yes gimmick when not properly balanced just made for a game totally unfair for those who are playing on the under privileged team , one team had all the Radars or one team had all the larger / super cruisers when the MM think the other team can fight the same with only CL , the list goes on and on , Random just need a total Match Making overhaul

Just as hybrids and radar ships need to taken into account the game should separate BC's from BB's.
You still have the rest of Battleship Row from Pearl Harbor (ok, the PENNSYLANIA was in Drydock) to be released. That's about all I am waiting for.
They (WG) will likely come out, eventually, with the SORCOUF, and I loathe subs in the game.

SLM now seeing dd hiding behind islands with CN and BB and not evening challenging caps or supporting DD?Sub. Is there some new mechanism or are they protecting stats or what? the bots in Asymmetric are better team players than 9/10 these days and in any game where there is some coms and life we win. Is it possible they have secret bots or players are doing something for points? driving me crazy I know I'm not this bad. Even taking photos of end position now to show where they are v me in case its my positioning or timing... also 8/10 are min 3-5 dd or subs?? also in Asymmetric can win well with a few kills, and those t10 bots are ruthless when they lock on so pretty sure somethings changed or I am missing a trick.
I'm playing MODERN WARSHIPS now! For a 1,5 year or so...I came back to WW and uninstalled it after 20 mins. BORED AND NOTHING CHANGED it's even worse than ever
USS Washington and USS South Dakota should be added. South Dakota can get a funny button that increases accuracy by 50% for 40 seconds but has a 35% chance of knocking out all electronics for 60 seconds.

At same time… there is still CV rework in long future ahead and I still believe it will help as BB should have more inaccurate guns too but people can’t hit nothing with Tennessee guns… and only who is in world of pain are DDs as CL have AA (mostly) and CA chance to dodge or move in pack DDs are single unit in open to do everything. DDs are just hardest and most painful class to play in these matches.

That's just the Royal Navy. From these, you could do variants, such as Furious '18 and Furious '41, as a lot went through modernisations and/or conversions. Heck, theoretical proposed designs could still make appearances, like the theoretical modernisation of HMS Hood had she survived. All told, you could easily get over 100 ships from the royal Navy itself, perhaps several hundred considering proposed modernisations (not the paper crap that constituted a brief drawing, a quick conversation, with no real thought put into it, never to be spoken of again, that get's taken and put into game over real ship's), as well as more from variants of the ship's throughout their careers. Imagine what you could get from the US Navy.
