Wesley is Carlsen’s nemesis for a few years now, but the Chess Federation would always make sure Wesley was not always included in qualifying as Carlsen’s challenger for the World Championship. They have different made-up methods for qualification that makes sure Wesley was not included. I think it’s too obvious Carlsen was being protected from losing his seat since he was a champion.
Well but the qualification criteria are set in advance. If Wesley does good in any of the qualifying tournaments or series, they can't stop him from playing in thr candidates.
@@indianfan1029 , yes, they know which tournament Wesley is so good at. The Fisher Tournament is where he excels. That’s one where a couple of pieces are switched. It takes away from memorized lines as Carlson is good at. You’d think that’s an import tournament to consider as Cess Champion.

Time is almost running out on his peak form - is slowly slowly declining, maybe. I don't know Anand's age when he defeated Kramnik. If Ding Liren is able to successfully defend his crown, then I want to see Wesley against either Ding or Fabiano in the 2026 championship. Dominguez and Aronian are still good both close to 40, but obviously not at their peak anymore. And then there's Alireza and the Indian prodigies. Go Wesley!

So my question is the eval bar has the game very close to even chances even after magnus plays ...Qb6, so what is the continuation that keeps him from collapsing? What is the crazy engine line that allows him to move out with his queen and still be able to escape the attack?
After Rf6x Bf6 , h5xg6 , KXg6, , Qh6 Kf5, Rf1 Ke6 Rxf6, kd7, Rxb6, A7xb6 , interesting end game. A queen and a Bishop vs 2 rooks and a Bishop.
I think when magnus takes rook by qf6 then next couple of moves will be forced checkmate for wesley if he takes g6 pawn by h5 pawn and finally qh7.. its mate

8:38 why can’t Magnus take with his bishop??
It would have ended the game right there. Mag bishop takes then So bishop takes mag's bishop, which ultimately compels Mag to sac the queen anyway or he has to take the pawn on the G file: if not then So's G pawn would take the pawn over and check at the same time forcing the king to move to the only available space beside the black rook. Which ultimately leads to So's queen moving next to the king under the protection of the bishop thus ending the game.
Taking the pawn without sacking the queen would bear the same result as well. Hence 8:33 at this moment mag's move was the most reasonable given the circumstances.
