Watching this make me a little emotional as it reminds me of my NS and reservist time in the 80s. Thoroughly enjoy that rite of passage. Enjoy the company of my buddies regardless of race and religion. We suffer and enjoy the time together. My only wish the SAF then was similar to the present moment. Basic training just teaches a man the “basics”. Polished is put on when they get their units when the train with their sections, platoon, company etc. when a battalion as being fit for role the are ready for combat. Truth is ISIS are not good fighters. They have been rushed every tine they faced a well trained and led fighting force. The one time they tried to fight the IDF, the Israelis destroyed them with heavy artillery.
