randomly clicks on new videos from KEXP and discovers this jewel!
nice to see them singing of old, traditional things like making butter, and especially using the voices of the elders in their songs. The elders would be proud!
I freaking love this sound. I can't get enough of it.
I feel like I'm listening to some sort of traditional djent folk here. This is amazing.
Love from your neighbour in Latvia.
from Estonia! I wonder how we could explore such good music without KEXP, thanks!
I actually came across Estonian rock bands on YT before I discovered KEXP ...but it's not an everyday occasion ; )
Very interesting and powerful music.

I'm built in Latvian, but if I would be remade, this would be the language of my choice.
It sounds like I'm eating a dessert with my ears. pure gourmet
The bridge from 11:00 on in Jaan'keene will forver be one of my favourites, I love that song, and all their music, butbthe way that part grows into something so massive instrumentally is just incredible. I love it.
Yesterday was at their performance. Was awesome!
I can't get enough of the melodies.

You guys should put time stamps on the list of songs. Just saying

Hello from Yakutia (Russia/Siberia), You are cool and thanks for the sounds of the Jew`s harp (Chomus), It's not from Yakutia?
oh wow, cool to see people from the coldest place listening to our music :D
This is awesome. I'm going to Estonia this year, I'll be sure to check if they'll be playing. Does anyone know if they play regularly at any venue in Talinn?
I'm not sure they play somewhere regularly (demand is very high outside Estonia) but in they will play in Tallinn in 30th of June.
There are going to be just 2 concerts in Estonia this year: June 30 in Tallinn, and August 26 in Setoma, South Estonia
They are literally going to play in every country, so it's likely to meet them in yours :)
Will Santa Claus be taking them for a ride in his flying sled with the red nose raindeer?
Very well played! Can someone please tell me which kind of flute-like instrument they use in the 3rd song? Thank you.
overtone wistle

Do you mean throat singing?
anyoen know what the weird silver/metal instrumet she plays in the 2nd song is?
I believe that's a mouth harp aka a "jew's harp". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jew's_harp
radwizard its was most commonly called a Jews harp in the English speaking world, now in case that name offends anyone(the horror) its changed to jaw's or mouth harp. but across Europe and into the stepps it has lots of other names. most languages having more that one name for it.
forgot to say that its a juice harp here in Scotland
radwizard
Wiki is perfectly fine nowadays when it comes to trivial knowledge.
My go-to online dictionary indeed also lists both versions, just as Wiki does and they even provide a few additional names in use around the English speaking world. I checked an actual dictionary in physical book form (early 90s edition or so) ...and guess what!? That one only had 'Jew's harp' in it.
Just the word 'jew' shouldn't automatically make it a controversial subject.
Because there is where it can get problematic, on stuff like fringe science, alternative media or spiritual subjects the articles often seem to be quite biased, selective or even manipulative, which is very bad.
search "meisterjaan" for another modern use of it from Estonia.
schizo?

amazing! truly unique! I've been a fan from the 1st I heard them... years ago... one of the few musical experiences that caused me to react: "Wow! What IS that? Gotta hear more of it!" Other experiences like that in recent decades have included Angelique Kidjo, Jack Johnson, and very few others...
Oh, this is good, and they have not performed two of my favourite songs by Trad Attack! The ride / Sõit, and Moon / Kuukene.
Perfeito!! Performance, sonoridade e batida!
incredible!
