Great video. Four wheel drive is the way to go. When I had my Audi 4000 cs Quattro I felt like there was no line on the street I could not take.

It seems from the clips that the objective is to drive that little bit faster than you can possibly manage and then to crash in the most spectacular manner.

Rally spectators are something else!
That’s for sure. It’s the only really dangerous collective activity available to young men, this side of warfare. This is miles more fun & much less dangerous than warfare.
I love how spectators are the first response on a rally stage 👏

That was a great video, can’t help thinking that if 50% of the drivers went 25% slower then they would end up being 40% faster and have 100% of a car left at the end. Can’t beat a armchair expert…👍.

These cars are ridiculously quick, can't imagine going that fast on those roads! Just out of curiosity, what's the interval between cars? Gotta get the spectators out of the way!

Actually it's two minute intervals, or three minutes if the weather is really poor. I'm sure it varies locally but this is standard for sanctioned rallies.
The winner should be the one who gets in and out of the weeds the most. ...It shows the most heart.

Pourquoi les bédouins qui accourent viennent-ils prêter main forte aux pilotes après un accident ? C'est dommage. Pourquoi ne les laissent-ils pas crever ou brûler vifs dans leur voiture ? C'est ça la beauté du sport. Le public risque d'être déçu et de casser leurs sièges. Ne pensez-vous pas ?

All in all I tip my hat off to every rally driver that's ever ran that's serious skill to drive that fast on some of the sketchiest roads

There appear to be some very high powered cars, way more than stock. Unfortunately, it’s easier to add 200bhp than to deploy it under control.

Some great recoveries but also loon spectators , major injuries from going too see rallies are well known.

What do rally fans think they're doing when the cars crash/roll near them, attacking enemy lines? I mean, panic attacks, screaming and shouting,, hand gestures all over the place, guys falling down on their own, complete surrounding of the car even if it tries to move again, acting like someone has just died at the slightest roll... It's in every modern rallying video.

I bet it is a challenge in itself just to cross the finish line without a damaged car! I would be proud of myself just to make it from point a to point b, and still have a drivable car!
you most likely would finish well in the final results. because all the other drivers damaged their cars so badly, even IF they could finish the race, it would be at a MUCH slower time.the secret is to NEVER drive over your skill level or capabilities of the car.because most, if not all the drivers who do crash out of the race & NEVER finish the damn race.

I wondered if it was the same course, a range of sections and across four seasons.
Plenty of drivers are going to have had very sore necks, backs and the odd fracture from arms and legs whipping in a rolling car. Some very nasty looking situations.
The old 911 Porsches required the utmost attention, especially when cornering, so that the rear didn't smear. You can also see how important a roll cage is in the event of such violent multiple rollovers. Without it, no one would have gotten out alive.

I love watching rallying but always find the fans who all rush towards the crashed cars a bit weird 😂 it's like how many people does it take to dig a hole!! I'm sure half of them go just hoping to rescue a smashed car and meet a very upset and dazed driver 😂

These drivers are absolutely bonkers. It blows my mind to see how they take on those roads full blast and keep those cars on a leash, except for the times they completely trash them!
