    I mainly look for sounds from international records. Harps, organs, and pianos are always a go. Also in terms of the year I feel 1964-1974 had the best sound sonically.

    I don't sample all that often, but I can say that sounds of the 80's are usually what I'm chasing. The gated reverb on a crispy snare and the piercing nature of synth leads, contrasted with the smooth delay on pads of the era really pulls me in. I love emulating those type of sounds and giving them my own flavor.

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats 2 года назад +1

      Hey Joshua, something about the Reverb in the 80s really stands out and I have heard lots of records with the snare verb tail. I know exactly what you mean and how those type of sounds spark some type of creativity and make us want to go in and make some music. Thank you for sharing this.

      I don't know why I like that gate reverb sound. I always process my snare like that. Arturia Verb is what I use.

    Thanks for sharing Malo, I definitely share the same sentiment regarding the creation of music. To me it’s all about how it makes me feel and the calming after effect when completing a track, plus listening back to it. Much respect.

    Great content as usual my friend! I'm the same way.. there's no rules for my approach, but like you, I know what I like to hear in a sample, and sometimes it can be at the very end of a record, or 3 seconds in, that's the beauty of it. 🙏🏾✊🏾💚

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats 2 года назад

      Hey brother thank you for sharing this input and it’s funny that you mentioned about the last three seconds of a record because we are used to just listening to the first three seconds but I’m sure there’s a lot of gold even at the end of a record which a lot of the times we don’t listen to. I appreciate you for taking the time my brother

    you’re absolutely right Malo. Music is very subjective. most people who know me don’t know i do this because it’s a personal hobby of mine. But i enjoy it! great vid. Question: have recorded sounds and included them in your process?

    Dope. I just bought a portable turntable to pair with the MPC, for crate digging. I also have a pretty expansive library that has been building for more than 20 years, but for the most part, will be sampling and chopping what is played on the keyboard.
    Mostly produce for my label and myself as an artist, now days. Don't think that I am going to produce for anyone else this year, but will see...
    I love that you are just doing this out of your love for this, it really shows in your work. Good stuff. Thanks again for these videos.

    My biggest piece of advice to everyone. Facebook market place/ Craigslist - buy job lots of vinyls, they are usually from someone's dead grandma etc. I've found some of the beat records I ever dug this way. Some beats on my channel to get a feel what in talking about. Sick sick sick topic Malo

      Hey Elliot, you have no idea how glad I am that you posted this and the funny part is that I am actually working on a video where I just bought a pack of 15 vinyl records on eBay for around $25 which is so cheap and fun since I am anticipating on what I’m going to get when I do receive my packet. I know not everyone has a vinyl store next to them but Online is a great way to dig for records

    The samples seems very "sharp" (high end, high transients, but if you're going lofi its no problem as it is supposed to be like this), it may be the recording process. However the sample is good :) Your channel is small. smaller than it deserves. Hopefully it will grow 8 fold in time. Keep up the good work!
