There damn good, but not as good as the 2004 Red Sox
2004 didn't even win the division and almost got swept by the Yankees. 2004 is my favorite team and title, but 2018 team was far better.

The 2004 year was more meaningful to people due to the reverse of the curse but this team was more dominant by far. Best team in Red Sox history.

i like one team from each division, both of which teams should theoretically hate the red sox (AL is yankees, that are the obvious rival to the red sox and NL is rockies, that got swept by the red sox in 2007)
but i really do tip my hat to this team. they were great this year and they deserved to win it all in the end. this was my first baseball season i cared about, and it has been great. much respect to each of the red sox and congrats to their fans.

@Jon Hawkins To be fair, I could see where the Astros might be favored in some categories. But except for homers, I couldn't see it with New York. Look at Kansas City in 2015: they didn't hit a lot of home runs, but they hacked you to death. They were killer in the 7th inning onward throughout the season and the playoffs.

Pearce does not have big offers from other teams (being 35, and having one great season in his entire career), although he might have a few offers. Why would he not want to stay with his childhood favorite team that he has had his first good year with? Eovaldi, I promise you, is getting pretty good offers. I think he is one of the main targets to resign. I think that if the Red Sox resign Kelly (which is what they will definitely try to do) he will become the closer

And maybe that was the problem - they didn't have enough balance to win when the bats were cold. For example, look at Boston's 16-1 win. Only Brock Holt hit a homer in that game, and that was in the top of the ninth inning against a position player.

You know nothing, read the report. Cora was suspended for what he did in Houston as bench coach the year prior. They were fined because after all the publicity the league had to hit 'em with something. Tim Kirkjian even said what the RS were fined for 29 other teams should be fined as well. And by the way, the Red Sox went 119-57 on the season including rolling the Y's, Astros and Dodgers in the playoffs.
