Let's be real here. Really be real here. The Vtubers dramas... are only on Twitter. Life does not revolve around Twitter. The whole world is not Twitter. When you realise that, you will see how insignificant those dramas are. You don't need to feel and waste your emotional energy on EVERY. SINGLE. DRAMA. Focus on the Vtubers that you like and what you like. Other than that, don't be a tourist. Oh another drama! Goes takes a look. Oh noooo! You are wasting your mental health, emotional energy and time. In summary, go touch grass.

The Selen situation also matters a lot to me, I really liked her and the way Nijisanji used their livers to try and drag her through the mud put a really bad taste in my mouth, and I absolutely refuse to engage with content that includes or supports Nijisanji.

Twitter is just Twitter. It's a cesspool full of ignorance and people seeking to feel outrage over something, anything. I don't know if it's because of lack of everyday excitement or feelings of emptiness but there are *many* people on Twitter who exist solely on drama or outrage. They'll find a topic they have no interest in just to feel some form of drama and outrage over it. Once you figure out that, you just kind of roll your eyes at Twitter as a whole. The only thing people should actively use Twitter for is keeping up to date with their various personalities, family and friends they follow and consciously avoid anything else.

      I wouldn't classify Dokibird's drama as insignificant.
Ninjisanji lost 31% of it's value and still hasn't recovered. The stock dropped so fast it almost triggered Japans stock safety net for traded companies.
All their remaining EN tallents lost thousands (and in some cases 10's of thousands) of subscribers who still haven't returned.
The companies future hands in the air right now waiting on it's 4th quarter earnings report to stockholders. To be frank it will be a disaster because the entire Dokibird thing happened in the 4th quarter.

This might be a hot take of my own but:
Do you know who I think doesn't get enough credit for turning VShojo around? VShojo themselves. I.e. the people behind the scenes like Gunrun etc.
People often compare what certain members say about VShojo to certain other VTuber corps, especially one corp in particular. I understand why people do that but for me, something that's just as interesting is comparing what the people who left said VS. what the people joining are saying.
To an extent, every member who left, especially Silvervale, made the point that they felt like there wasn't a point to being in VShojo and that they may as well just be indie. Meanwhile, everyone who's joined since then has talked about how helpful and eager VShojo staff have been. I seriously doubt that's a coincidence. To me that sounds like VShojo actually learned from their mistakes, by listening to what the people who left had to say about them and actually started giving new members a reason to feel like there was a point in being part of VShojo.

    • @soasertsus
      @soasertsus Месяц назад +15

Yeah definitely, I think that's the major difference between the respected vtuber companies and the ones that aren't. Because it was a new space and every agency made mistakes at one point. The difference is Hololive, Vshojo, and Phase to an extent learned from their mistakes and tried to be better, while Nijisanji continues making the same mistakes and doubling down on them, and others have simply collapsed completely. I hope Idol manages to find their footing eventually too, they have promise

    • @otakueve117
      @otakueve117 Месяц назад +13

@@soasertsus I do think they are getting better with everything. Remember they did start about a year ago and all of them are learning from others and themselves. Sure people are saying that they are doing it just for the PR stunt but other companies do it as well. Don’t know why they are being criticized for doing the same. I know people will keep on using their past scandals to judge them but one was bad communication from both sides while the other was really ficked up and mostly on those two people in it.
Remember, Holo was called a black company because of the many scandals they had in the past( I.e Taiwan incident, Aloie, Rushia etc) and now they are the golden standard.
Vtubering is still young, there are still a lot of things to learn before we can set the standard for everything. It takes time.

My hot take is that Lewdtubers are not overrated, but rather the term Lewdtuber is overused. You would be hard pressed to find a streamer, whether normal face-cam or VTuber, who goes an entire stream without making some form of a lewd joke just a handful of times during that stream, but most people don't look at those irl streamers as "lewd streamers", but suddenly when it is that same amount of lewd jokes + a model that shows any form of cleavage they get they get the Lewdtuber label

  • @aisukururimu7515

One of my hot take due to recent dramas is sometimes, vtubers needs directly reprimand their chats more if they feel uncomfortable with how the chat behaves at that very moment instead of turning a blind eye to it
I've seen this happening from time to time again, especially within Holo EN mem, maybe except for Ame, Calli and Bae; the chats keeps using overused joke, the vtubers gets annoyed but choose to ignore it, after awhile the vtubers can't take it anymore and asked the chat to stop, but the chat already got used to behaving a certain way in the community that a good amount of them chose to stir things up to keep it that way, instead of actually change things up for their oshi's sake, and then that lead to a drama
It's hard not to compare it with the IDs, usually when the chat or even the community at large, is making a Holo ID mems feel uncomfortable, they'll address the issue promptly, and it actually prevented the backlash from getting too out of hand. Like for example; the Ina's back joke or Kronii's subway joke, they witheld for too long, that by the time they addressed it, the backlash was bigger than it needs to be. Compare it with Kaela's recent Hajime vs Biboo treatment joke that just died down without any drama whatsoever after she addressed her issues about it only within a week or so since it started, instead of ignoring it for 2 years hoping that people will eventually forget. Point is, sometimes it's not always a bad idea to just come clean about things like these

    • @Cowslippoetry
      @Cowslippoetry Месяц назад +3

Kaela certainly has a way with audiences. She can reprimand and address them directly without causing any awkwardness or friction, and there's never any hard feelings left in its wake. I actually disagree. You can ignore it and fans will drop the joke. Perfect example is IRyS. Her debut stream when she was asking for fan names and 90% of chat was saying "IRS", she ignored it completely and it was never mentioned again by her chat again.

To me, VShojo would have only been screwed if Zen would have left like she was thinking about doing around that time. Not because Zen is more important than any of the other girls, but because her, Ironmouse, and Melody are the three biggest players in VShojo. Zen because of her ability to network, Ironmouse because of her viewer reach, and Mel because of her reach in the lewdtuber sphere and the fact that she was THE founding vtuber. Without any one of these three (in addition to the three that left) VShojo would have been on a slow decline.

Zen certainly is a massive magnet, but Mouse isn't exactly an idle idol net herself. She may not be the big networker Zen is, but her sphere of influence is massive, especially with how chummy she was with certain disgruntled idols from a now-dying company. Zen's big strength is how she can easily make others feel like they're part of the community.

Given that she did CB hard for 4 years, I think she might actually be burned out, or she may be changing her interests and she doesn't realize it. She's been all over Warhammer 40K recently. For sure but also I do think the lewd aspect is just overdone anymore, like why is one of the go to vtuber jokes still to this day so and so is flat? Like I get that they are just anime avatars but it's still a real person and it feels kinda weird and cringe when they do it for non-lewdtubers. Like Marine is Marine and she clearly enjoys it, but then Kronii can't stream without hearing booba comments and I get the feeling it bothers her.

This is just my general thoughts on 6 main subjects.
    1. Drama
Vtuber or not, drama occurs. Vtubers are people to and not just faces of anime characters. I think ultimately it will happen, its only up to yourself that you ignore it.
    2. Collabs of holostar and hololive. We all surely love interactions between them. Although now it seems maybe Roberu occasionally meet a hololive girl like the Rust Server or Kobo with Altare and Axel. I think these do happen because Americans are into shipping. Shipping like Kronii with Mumei is fine, but as Kronii once said. Don't just ship people.
    3. Oshis.
You can have multiple or one. Oshi isn't devoted to one you like the most. But someone who you support. People may say that they have one who may represent the fanbase as. But it don't mean they only have one. And if you have only one, it's your choice.
    4. Lewdtuber.
Definitely lewdtuber can be seen a lot. But also it's not something they do to gain views. It's who they are. Filian is an accused lewdtuber because her sponsor with Fansly and occasional glitch. We got chibi, who got popular through humor. Zen may have lewd looking models but that's not how she got popular. Nyanners got popular through the poopoopeepee era.
    5. Vtubers who show their face.
We have kson who do irl streams. We have Aethel and Nyanners that do show face. Onigiri, Bao, and Rainhoe also do show face.
But is vtuber mean you strictly don't show face. If you can, how much till you are not considered one. Digging deep into this would cause arguments.
    6. Vshojo
The few members leaving vshojo was something that csught many off guard. But it would never die since you had members like Ironmouse. I do agree Henya brought light to VShojo, but it was Zen that encouraged Henya to come to collabs. VShojo is a great company. Its nothing like Fiji Sanji.

Interesting video. I am new to the Vtuber thing. I am older than the target market too. I enjoy a few vtubers but I must admit that I don't want to be part of the community. All of the drama vtuber channels, comments in youtube section not even dealing with thev video or company - but unrelated things and comparison, etc. I still am a bit creeped out by a subsection of comments (or even messages to some VTubers) where I don't think if the person was in the flesh, the comments would be made.
So - interesting to hear other takes in this video. I still think that I will silently watch Kaela, Matara and Mints podcast, and hope for English translations of Pururu - but probably treat comment sections like the vast majority of the internet and just not engage with the community

In regards to the hot take regarding vtuber's receiving more support when they're graduating than when they're not I think it's more a matter that people really don't know what they have until they realize they're about to lose it. Folks can often take things for granted and it can come as a shock to them when the certainty of things that used to be routine are suddenly in flux. That is why people aught to appreciate not just the vtubers they already watch but try to celebrate and check out new vtubers while they're just starting. New faces bring new life and new ideas to the industry and giving those who deserve support the time and attention they require allows them to flourish until they too become the standard. leaning solely on the tried and true content of an already established vtuber while fun for the while must surely, inevitably, come to an end someday, unfortunately. Such is the nature of time.

Only half right, Indies yes. Other corpos? No hold them to the same standards. You expect a grocery store to have a certain standard don't you and compare it against Walmart right? Mom and Papas shops get a pass much like Indies, but other big chain stores all need to be held to a standard. Same with Video games, the bigger the studio the higher the standards, but once you are out of the Indie stage you have a drastic jump in standards.
Short, being a small corp doesn't mean they get to be a Wactor, and should be held against the standard of the best and biggest that is Hololive, which even holding Phase Connect against Phase still looks like a very good company. Which is why comparing all corps to Holo is actually a good thing as it pushes the standards up. Whereas if you compare all corps to Wactor or Niji then you will see the standards pushed down.

There's a cyst that needs to be drained in the vtuber fandom, and that's people who think that constant out-of-pocket horniness should be considered normal and completely acceptable by every vtuber ever. There's this thing where a vtuber rolls with a lewd joke once or twice and people in the community can't stop mentioning it endlessly afterwards. For years. They beat the dead horse long after its bones have turned to paste. And then others, knowing that a vtuber is fine with some mature humor, suddenly think that it's cool to just openly and publicly, with even the added pressure of a donation, talk about how much they wanna smell this person's feet or their armpits. Fetishes that, sure, are fine in private, but they can't help themselves. They couldn't just look for R34 in peace. They couldn't go to the comments section of a clip where the vtuber actually mentions it, or a subreddit dedicated to lewd art, or to /vt/ and air out their fetishes there. They have to say it to the person. They have to force them to read it by attaching money. And when there's so much of that, especially to people who very specifically aren't lewdtubers, I fail to see it being jokes as opposed to people with no self-control. And god, there's still the clippers who constantly try to clickbait with hentai art. It's been there forever. And I've spoken to at least one fairly popular clipper who genuinely thinks all the constant lewd shit should be normal. As if we shouldn't even consider the concept of "there's a time and place".
You can be completely cool with all the lewd stuff. I am. Not everybody will be. Same goes for all of these vtubers. But it seems like they're expected to sit there and just take shit from horny mfs that would count as straight up sexual harassment in any other context because hey, "it's part of the territory". Screw that.

A lot of people have this warped perception of lewdtubers where they think any sexyness at all = lewdtuber. Showing skin on a vtuber model is not the same a showing irl skin, the vtuber model is basically digital clothing and that includes the skin of a model. A scantily clad model is more equivalent to wearing one of those T-shirts that has a decal of abs on it.

Imma put my hot take on the ring as well, Vtubing is only a stepping stone for some content creators. A lot of vtubers don't even adhere to their lore anymore and just mention that part occasionally but all in all they're just a streamer with a live 2d model now.

That one person complaining about politics and lewdtubers in the same breath is unintentionally prescient: These are labels applied in broad strokes to "things I don't like".
Also I find the aversion to politics, particularly wrt corpo Vtubers, extremely funny. Nothing is more political than refusing to engage with politics.

    "Keep politics out of vtubing"
Oh good lord these people would flip if they knew the proto vtubers were nothing BUT political. Rags and Itsagundam come to mind. Kirsche is more recent but that is also her brand. I think the message they wanted to say is that they do not appreciate a content creator not known for doing political stuff to all of a sudden get on a soapbox. It's mostly an indie problem and generally most indies are young, dumb, and VERY opinionated and stubborn so it can get a little tiring to hear someone pontificate about an issue they know little about and shut down any and all dissent as hate speech.

Allow me to clarify, what I'm mean is that when people bringing up something political that isn't political in the first place. Like I just want to watch a funny anime woman talk about video games for hours not something depressing that completely ruined my mood.

The crusade against 'Lewdtubers' is so cringe. It's just a lazy way of attempting to invalidate a VTuber's personality and entertainment value (and by extension insult their audience), it's a tired label that's been thrown about since at least the start of VShojo. It's not hard to find VTubers that fit your niche, and to keep your pearl-clutching to yourself

    • @casteanpreswyn7528

The reason it matters is because it's the fans that complain about "women just shaking their tit's to get views" that then go flood lewdtubers with popularity. The hypocrisy is sickening.

@@casteanpreswyn7528 to me its about finding a balance between actually having a personality and being lewd, there are some where lewd seems to be their only personality on stream, which for example seems to be what Kson has turned to compared to how she was as coco. So i don't watch Kson because all the clips i see and everthing iv seen from other people is she has just become pretty much purely lewd content.
Sinder, Tricky, Numi, Shylily, Bao and their group of friends are what id use as the standard for a good balance of lewd but still having a real personality that shows.

  • @admiralandy1983

With regards to politics, yes if that's the kind of content they are known for then that's fine, I can avoid then along with all the other drama channels. But vTubers not known for political hot-takes should expect resistance from fans who watch vTubers for the escape from world events.

i think mata and calli perfectly fit the personality - content - model type - like i really dont care to much for matas model - her way otalking and playing is just fun - and callie well maybe here the model might overthrow the conten cause i really like her model - then again its her way of speaking i just love -content - well you could really feel that she actually liked jumpking in a somewhat self harming way
to vshojo -wel yah henya is a co.llabe monster - the nm agian silver and vei always felt more like indi and nyanner s is jsut a great streamer no idea why she switched over to vtubeing, happy to see her toing more irl again (though it might also be athels influence)- and since vshojo still has zen i hink they are good - like zen is a content maschine
still im kinda sad that they never went back to collabe with any of the shojo members again....but then again i remember silver sounidng astounishly said in her quitting stream - so maybe they just werent ment - and silver is cosy anyway still at least in the solo games XD

here's my take, idol culture and vtuber culture have no reason to be related.
people have been doing content creation using virtual avatars before the term "vtuber" was created so why should vtubing use the same terms from idol culture?
for reference FaceRig was released in July 2015 wereas the term "vtuber" was coined in December 2016 by Kizuna Ai

My hot take; I watch alot of vtuber content nowadays, and coming from a mostly edited video youtuber enjoyer background, vtuber vids suck.
The videos are often lazy, poorly edited, or are just incohesive highlight reels. Alot want their youtube presense to grow but dont do much of anything to actually grow it effectively.

    • @TNobody0214
      @TNobody0214 Месяц назад

Just as a small follow up. Alot what traditional worked before work be as effective now. The market is over-saturated so relying on the niche alone or getting a dedicated clipper won't work as well as they use too.
Alot rely on shorts they can put on YT, tiktok, insta, etc for reach but number show they can be great for eyes but they rarely translate into real numbers for subscribers, or people who would willingly go to a stream.
Vtuber edited videos need to step up quality or people won't get noticed. I'm seeing more effort for a number of creators but many are still relying on those shock titles or few lewd/yabai moments as their main marketing. That won't last you and if you wanna grow outside just your stream your gonna need to put serious thought into how your gonna make your videos as entertainment.

Some Of My takes On Things In Vtubing/Streamers
A Lot Of Drama/News Channel Debate Is Mostly A Matter Of If You Like What They Are Reporting On Oh This Person Is Logical News Reporting Cause I Like What They Are Saying Vs They Are Nasty Brainless Drama Maker Cause I Don't Like What They Are Reporting.
I Find It Annoying A Bit When Chat Grind A Treat On A Vtuber Without It Coming From The Vtuber Them Self Zeta=Cat, Kaela=Penguin, Reine=Turkey Etc. We Could Have Had Different Vibe & Relationship With The Person If People Didn't Force A Theme On Them They Didn't Have Let The Treat Come From The Vtuber.
The Saying The Chat Is Just Following How The Person Is When Being Naught Kind Of Also Irks Me Similar To Aboves Take You May Not Be Following The Persons Ways The Already was Being Naught Making The Person Be Naught When They Were Not Doing So/Trying To Be.
