Okay so I finally read the Lunar Chronicles for the first time this year (I know, I’m so late to the party 😅), and I did the audiobooks. My word, it’s one of the best audiobook series I’ve read in a long time. The narrator is just so fantastic and managed to capture each of the characters so well
I'm pretty new to audiobooks (started listening to them about 4 months ago at work) and on a whim I listened to the Lunar Chronicles series, even though I read the books back when they were coming out. I have listened to quite a few books since then but that is still my favorite series to listen to, Rebecca Soler did such a great job! I'm glad other people feel the same way as me!
I am visually impaired and grew up reading audiobooks if it wasn’t for them I would’ve never develop my love of reading and adults of an act like it wasn’t as important or valuable or worthwhile as reading print that it was made really mad and so now I’m super happy that nowadays many people particularly adults busy with work and family find audiobooks to be way more convenient useful and easy to consume then print
OMG, the project hale marry is one of my favorite books of all time and it’s all because of you. I remember seeing a video a few months ago where you talked about it and I immediately ran and got the audiobook and finished it so quickly. it’s amazing! I recommended it to everyone I know I love it so much!
I agree with Project Hail Mary! Best audiobook I read this year. I don’t really pick up a lot of sci-fis, but this book gripped me. It was a complete surprise to me how much I loved it.
I’ve just gotten into audio books and have been listening to Sarah J Maas books and I am LOVING it -so I am very excited your new recommendations😁 thank you for sharing!
omg yes the Red, White & Royal Blue audiobook is one of my favs too! I’ve listened to to at least 6 times by now and never actually read the physical book (but I do own it) 😄 another favorite of mine is ‘This Thing of Darkness‘ by Harry Thompson, it’s long but the narration is so amazingly done and the book is also ver well written!
These are more New Adult recs but The Ravenhood series audiobooks are SOSOSO good!!! Full cast in those as well. Also, I love the Kingdom of the Wicked audiobooks, the production is so good in those.
Love the chaotic beginning as always 🤣 I've never tried audiobooks... but you're on your way to convincing me to try! Just wanted to say also that your writing journey is so inspiring for my own goals - I've been watching you for over 10 years (can't believe it myself!) but I've never commented - just not something I've ever done, but today I just randomly thought... why not? 🤣 You've been instrumental in keeping me on my booklover game (thanks for the reminder about Defend the Dawn release!) throughout my life, in school and university and through heartbreak and trying to adult and hating my jobs and losing and gaining friends. The fact that you're a swiftie also helps in my appreciation of you and your content! ❤ I just wanted to say thanks for being you and providing this entertainment for all these years - can't wait for what's to come next for you!
My favorite audiobooks are the You series by caroline kepnes, and My Dark Vanessa. Even if you've read these books with your eyeballs you should still listen to the Audiobooks.
I still haven't started As Good As Dead... Every single time you mention it you make me want to drop everything and read it. I don't know if I can handle the beginning just yet though, I'm still dealing with the aftermath of Midnights and Doctor Who right now... 😭😂🙈
This was really entertaining, so thank you for the recommendations. I haven't read any of these books yet. I don't read too many audiobooks, but my go-to for falling asleep (LOL) is Murakami. Other than that, the Raven Cycle has really good audiobooks. Legendary even. The narrator does a fantastic job.
i exclusively read through audiobooks now. i have the time to read with my eyes but for some reason i just can't focus anymore. i have to have my hands doing SOMETHING to focus, so playing mindless games and doing housework are so helpful to me.
I have only just started getting into audio books and they have changed my life!!! Thanks for the recs! I absolutely loved I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy and currently listening to Girl Friends by Holly Bourne which is so good!!!
Listen, the audiobook for Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall is NEXT LEVEL. Honestly, I'd say it's tied for number one for me with the Scythe series. It's my comfort listen the same way rwarb is for you. And I know you've talked about it before, but Six of Crows is also so freaking fantastic. I've probably re-listened upwards of five times since it came out because it's just so excellent.
Some of my personal favourite audiobooks: An Ember in the Ashes series Anxious People Six of Crows duology We Hunt the Flame Kith and Kin (for critical role fans)
i'm like strictly an audiobook gal because i'm a grad student with no time but a long commute to fill my time so this video was so nice to have! and i LOVED the audiobooks for your books, christine! i thought they fit the tone of the books so well
so my all-time favorite audiobook is a nostalgia pick that I have been relistening to constantly since I was a kid, Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliet, which has two middle schoolers solve and art crime. But my more recent favorite audiobook has to be The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu. Just something about the way the audiobook narrator speaks is absolutely perfect for sucking me so deep into the world and the story. High key recommend checking both of these out!
The invisible life of Addie La Rue had me sobbing! V.E Schwab perfectly encapsulated what it feels like to be in your mid-twenties and feel like you're behind in life. This book made me think so much! Ninth house was MASTERFULLY written! It felt like i was uncovering a puzzle piece with every chapter i read. Which is what Leigh is so great at but this book takes it to a new level.
YES the invisible life of addie la rue audiobook just pullleeddd me in. i don't know if i would've loved the book as much if i hadn't done the audiobook!
The original War of the Worlds is still an amazing story. Jeff Wayne's Musical Version is also awesome, Lights off, now get comfy and journey to another time.
The Sandman Act I, II and III !!! i'm not much of an audiobook person (i don't have the attention span and I find it difficult to follow a story via audio unfortunately) but I was so intrigued by the story and the fact James Mcavoy voiced the lead character, Morpehus, that I finally decided to try it. It was easily one of best unique experience I've ever had. It is very immersive that the audio feels like I was watching a movie by picturing the scenes in my mind
I’ve listened to about half of these and absolutely adored them!! ❤ I highly recommend the Prison Healer trilogy!! It’s an amazing YA fantasy trilogy that’s strongly character based with amazing romance and gorgeous audiobooks!!
I didn’t like audiobooks until I listened to The Hobbit. Just the first few minutes of chapter one are so immersive because it has nice music and sound effects. I very highly recommend it :) I thought it was boring when I tried to read it a few years ago but trying out chapter one of the audiobook on Spotify made me want to try reading the whole thing!
I love everything by Elizabeth Acevedo. She has two poetry-style novels and one traditional novel. She narrates her own books and they make me emotional every time I read one! Also, Circe by Madeline Miller. Really good audiobook.
Yes some audio book recommendations! I recently listed to I'm Glad my Mom Died and LOVED it, and I've needed some recommendations for what to pick up next. (Also I'm halfway through Better Together and the lolss are amazing.)
i loved all of these recs! i totally agree with people we meet on vacation, beach read, and malibu rising! i loved all of those audio books. and now i’m currently on book lovers! and i tried to listen to project hail mary…. and i gave up like half way through. it honestly wasn’t the book, i think i just have to read sci-fi/fantasy books with my eyes in order to fully appreciate them. so maybe one day i’ll pick up the physical book or maybe give the audio book another chance :) one audio book i would recommend is beautiful world, where are you by sally rooney - that audio book was beautiful! i couldn’t stop listening!!
LOL i'm sorry the project hail mary wasn't your jam , BUT SO HAPPY YOU'RE LOVING THE EMILY HENRY'S!! =D DEF gonna check out where are you by sally rooney!! yay i've been wanting to read one of her books, this is perfect
I mean I think I’ve just been consumed by midnight cause when you were talking about your books (both of which I love by the way❤❤❤) I thought the it’s me hi was a Taylor reference. This was all before remembering you probs filmed this before it came out. Taylor has taken over my life. Loved the video!!!!!
Have you listened to The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley? I love how they utilize a full cast of voice actors to tell the story from different perspectives
I originally checked out a physical copy of Project Hail Mary from my library and in two weeks, I got to chapter 8. I was really interested in the story, but the physical reading of all that math made it hard for me to get through it. I decided to buy the audiobook and I finished the book that day, because it was so incredible!
