From the UK - This looks amazing! will have to give this a go! we call lamb based pies like this shepherds pie (shepherd//sheep) and the beef version a cottage pie!
Brother Malcolm you’re killing me every time I see your videos I have to cook that same thing same day, but I love it 😍. Awesome presentation thanks 🇺🇸
Been doing this for a couple years. I shred my entire packer brisket. Seasoned mashed potatoes on bottom, brisket in middle and corn/cheese on top. I always put mashed potatoes on bottom because it soak up all the juices and extra flavors.
Dagnabbit, Malcolm, it's just shy of 11:00 PM and if I had a brisket on hand, I'd have to fire up the egg right this minute. A lot of videos make me a little hungry but this one just hits me right. I may *legit* have a hard time sleeping over it.
Giving a try tomorrow. He really doesn’t say how long it took him to get the bark. I assume you take it to the stall temp (150-160) then pull it and cut it up?
I found your website over 5 years ago. I'm happy to see how many subscribers you have now. Your videos and your website have taught me just about everything I know. I've got buddies telling me to start a truck cause of my ribs pork and beef. I've also done your smoked turkey every Thanksgiving for quite a few years. Thanks for all you do.
Hello Malcolm I just want to thank you for all you do for us Pellet Smokers out here and I am a FIRM believer if you don have the Killer Hogs AP SEASONING Jesus you are missing out. I swear by it and everyone I tell about it now swears by it. Thank you and keep up the great videos 😋
Awesome. We have a pot luck at work next week and have been racking my brain trying to figure out some type of casserole side to make. Since I am a seasoned BBQ competitor, everyone at work expects some award winning BBQ with a twist from me. This will be perfect. Thanks for the vid.
My ultimate mashed potatoes.... 10 large potatoes peeled and cut into small pieces Boil in corned beef broth until fork tender Smash in large bowl with stick of butter Season with 1/2 cup corned beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to taste Add 1.5 blocks Irish cheddar cheese shredded Mix all well If still needed to thin out add heavy whipping cream to desired consistency Yes, it lacks salt, but there's usually plenty in the corned beef broth, the potatoes suck it up while cooking and a bit more is added with the additional broth mixed in. Love the stuff, use it on my corned beef and cabbage shepherd's pie.
Once again Malcolm you are the man, my sister gave me a flat of brisket and I had no Idea what to do with it but now I have a plan thanks to ya brother
Holy mother of god that looks good. I haven't had shepherds pie since i was young but i'm trying this. The way i used to have it had a layer of corn in it. I think i'm gonna add a layer of seasoned corn and some brussel sprouts between the brisket mixture and mashed potatoes
Malcolm such a joy to see you out cooking. That brisket looked totally fantastic. And the shepherds pie… Goodness gracious man my mouth is watering! Take care brother. 👊🏻🔥🍻
I had a salad for dinner..rode my peloton....and then watched this video, going to need nothing but salads until this weekend so I can eat the whole dang pie.
It should be called cottage pie. Sheppard’s pie has to have lamb. Not beef. This should be called cottage pie. Nice job Malcolm!! It looks amazing. Keep up all the great work.
A slight correction, since you American's seemed confused lol, Shepard's pie is made with lamb... hence Shepard, if you use beef its a cottage pie :) Anyway that's my morning pedantic moment done :) keep up the good work bud
That looks soooo good! But actually you made a “Cumberland pie” because you used chunks of meat. A Shepard’s pie uses ground lamb (hence the name) and a Cottage pie uses ground beef. Both usually also have either carrots or peas or both in them as well. But no matter what you call it….. I call it Good!
Not quite, Cumberland pie is usually the same as a Cottage pit but has the addition of Cheese in and on top of the mashed potato topping. The chunk vs minced beef option is viable across all three variations, the cheese however is strictly speaking unique to the Cumberland version.
@@zachm745 Actually I didn’t even know that. I looked up the Darren e between a Shepard’s and Cottage pie because often both names are used and I came across the Cumberland. These were a some British food sites.
So I have this brisket in my freezer that I’ve been wondering what to do with. And I have this very close friend who was just diagnosed with breast cancer. I’ve been wanting to cook some comfort food for her and her family. I was thinking a smoked mac but.. now I know what I’m doing with that brisket! Thank you Malcom!

This could also be called a Beef and Guinness Stew, no?
@@stump182 for that the stew would go on top of mash.
Also, missing the pea and carrot

It's that way in the U.S. too, but most people either don't know the difference or they don't care.
