whoa hey sorry for the wait, but it's finally here! I was approached by the very talented Curry to write an instrumental for them so that they can sing over it. Return to Oblivion was a song always I liked, so naturally I accepted!
I tried really hard to replicate the "cold" feelings that the instrumental gave off in the original, from the percussion and instrumentation used. I think I managed to do that pretty well with the synths, sticks and very small bells I used throughout the whole thing. It was a challenging project, but it was still a very fun one! Curry's vocals are also honestly fantastic, had some help making the vocals sound as good as the original did for this one, so please go check both her and our vocal mixer out whenever you get the chance!
I really really wanted to something very special for this cover, since it is my first vocal cover on this channel, so I opted for an entirely new style of video editing. I hope it's to your liking!

Hey, hey! This is good and I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining but are you ever going to finish the version you made for the Hero's Journey medley?
The idea for these individual songs is that I consider them the "full" versions from the medleys! The main reason they sound so different is because I believe that my knowledge has changed drastically since the medley, and I have a much wider variety of techniques at my disposal. I'm not discounting my medley, but now that I know a lot more than I used to, I take it as an opportunity to experiment and try new things out instead of just lengthening what I already had!
I never understood why Ysayle could control Shiva...but Ryne can't...
For one, Ysayle fervently believed that she was Shiva with every fiber of her being, so to her it was literally like putting on a new set of clothes. Her prayers and belief protected her. For another she's an adult and had been altering her form for years.
Ryne, however is a curious teenager who ignored the warnings of her friends and is not at all certain of herself. Just that alone would be devastating. On top of her emotional state of wanting to be good enough for Hydaelyn and to herself, this is the first time she's ever experienced something like this. It would not take that much to overwhelm poor Ryne, and yet here she is taking on an entire transformation.

I like it, but I feel like the vocals are overtaken by the music a bit too much.
