  • Welcome back to another Outdoor Intrigue winter wild camp, this time on some of the most remote mountains the UK has to offer. Only accessible from Corrour train station, which can't be reached by car, we set out on a cold crisp winters morning with views reaching Ben Nevis, The Grey Corries and further afield towards Ben Alder.
Our clear blue skies didn't last for long with dark snow clouds rolling in over the Mamores. Watch on to see how much snow fell over night and the iciest we've ever seen our tent!
For this fast and light adventure, Ben used the Hanchor TUFA 38L pack and Megs is using the Hyperlight Mountain Gear Southwest 2400. We took the Hilleberg Allak 2. We've been using our SealSkinz glove system all throughout winter and highly rate their warmth to weight capabilities. Gloves are usually one of the hardest things to get right, especially in Scotland.
Let us know in the comments if you'd like a video breakdown of how we keep our hands warm and dry!
Remember to THINK WINTER if you're heading into the hills. The days are short and conditions under foot are likely to be slow and difficult. Give yourself time, bail out options and be prepared! Conditions over ambitions.
Join us as we talk lightweight gear, hiking, camping and all things outdoors in a stunning Scottish setting.
