That was awesome!!!! I’ve been in wood shop at school for 2 years and I’ve learned a lot from RUclips and your videos! I know a bunch of terms before my teacher teaches them 😄 Thank You!!!
David, the best "trick" I've seen for getting the spacing right on a part you want to replicate is to scan it along with a size reference like a small ruler for scale. Then you adjust the image so that the scale is correct and you should have a near perfect copy to work with.
I've watched plenty of your videos but I think this is my favorite video I've seen so far. This is great! You combined wood and music which are two of my favorite things! Keep up the good work and cheers!
Love this case replacement! It would be awesome to take this a step further and add additional controls and functionality and have it all in one beautiful unit! Things like a computer keyboard or audio mixer. Great work!
Love this upcycling stuff!! About a year ago I scrapped a piano with the intention of throwing a synth inside of it. Hope this can inspire me to finally get back to work on that!
I wouldn't have thought it would be that complex either, but like you mentioned, when you take something like that apart, you never know what you'll find. Good job!
Dude Picciuto, bravo! Cool project, cool music and better editing. As a product designer I can understand perfectly the hustle you had replacing plastic with wood. Only one minor complain: I miss Eric! Keep the good stuff coming
Fantastic video, dude! I really enjoy the longer videos, and you seemed super pumped in discussing the problems, solutions, and upcoming projects. Rock on.
I love this so much. I've wanted to do this for my sewing machine and knitting machine for so long but getting the shapes right just feels so daunting.
great build. I like the middle section which is Classic Picciuto. Love the fact that this is a fly by the seat of your pants plan, which is the way I always build things. Thank you for sharing. Finally listened to Making It Podcast episode 163 where you talked about it.
Oh superb! Once again your enthusiasm and inspiration shines through. The laser work is cool too, my mind is constantly being blown by what can be achieved with that tool.
Love the new wall paper!!!...very Pink Floyd of you!!!...looking forward to your new desk build...I need to redo my workspace and can’t wait to see what I can steal from your “make something” mindset!!!
This is probably my favorite of your videos. I love the project but also your excitement. It's inspiring, honestly. I think I finally have an idea for my next project!
cool idea. also I really liked the synth song around the 6-7 min part of the video. I was hoping you wrote it while watching and was happy to hear you mention at the end of your video that all the music was yours!
Very cool. I was gonna make a retro style sheet metal case for my microKorg (hated the light plastic body) but sold the synth before I pulled it to bits.
Nice! I m building a wooden case for my mininova but i will put battery, class d amp and speakers. I have a cardboard prototype working. So you can play sitting in the cauch. Any suggestion for online wood lasercut websites?
David, I really like these upcycle videos! After seeing this though Im interested in the different music set ups you have. I know your mostly a woodworker but the name "make something I think leaves it open ended which gives you the ability to "make anything!" Just a thought. Great build!
love love love this. Fun fact: I think I first learned about your channel when I found your wood end pieces for the MS-20 mini (I also have one along with an Arturia MiniBrute SE). Second fun fact: this project is the inverse of one I've had in mind for a while - planning to take apart a super old Roland digital piano and use Arduino to make it into a midi controller.
Such an awesome, awesome job! For someone who has never opened it before and /or done some of the extra things you had to do it is a masterpiece my friend!
Hey David I thought of a quick project that you could batch out like crazy and it's very simple and cheap to make. You should make wooden train whistles for a future project and video.
Awesome video. I was entertained by your struggles! When you feel like doing another video like this i'd love to see you do a retro video game system like a Super Nintendo or a PSONE slim. Thanks Dave!
Glad to see more people embracing the "cut to fit" method of building.
That was awesome!!!! I’ve been in wood shop at school for 2 years and I’ve learned a lot from RUclips and your videos! I know a bunch of terms before my teacher teaches them 😄 Thank You!!!

I like the white brick background you’re using instead of the stacked stone look. Nice job.
Your cutaways and shredding when you'd touch the keys make your style so much. Love your humor and creativity! Keep it up, Dave!
Beautiful work, this is something I need to do with EVERY synth I own, just to give it that personal touch.
The after to me had a much nicer tone. The wood enclosure really gave it that warm vintage sound. haha...Great job David it looks great!
hahaha
Are you joking or serious?
I love it when you do projects like this where you figure it as you go. It is also a huge improvement in looks over the original!
Oh yeah the music is awesome also!
I've watched plenty of your videos but I think this is my favorite video I've seen so far. This is great! You combined wood and music which are two of my favorite things! Keep up the good work and cheers!
Right on, thanks Eric!

The intersection of making and music is a very awesome place! Thank you for these videos.
Thank you!

Keep the good stuff coming
Thanks for showing the previous attempts it really helps inspire me to not wait for the “perfect” design for my projects.
Watching these types of videos makes me look around the house and see what I could upcycle! Keep doing it man.
Love it! Gutsy move to rip it apart and figure all that stuff out. Looks great! Just like the monologue.
Dave, I’m so jealous of your whole set up there, who else leaves multiple comments?
Mad props. The music in your videos never gets enough credit, but I sir, I appreciate all the effort.
Also wanted to say I love the new backdrop. Far less distracting than the stone wall.
Fantastic video, dude! I really enjoy the longer videos, and you seemed super pumped in discussing the problems, solutions, and upcoming projects.
Rock on.
Great project David, I love your process that you go through. Solving problems one at a time.
Thanks for sharing!
For the record player, maybe you could cover the plastic bits in a wood veneer. You the man!
David I’m so happy for how far your channel has come since wwrr. Came for the wood, stayed for the awesome !
This is awesome... great project. Removing the plastic ugly and make it super cool.
I love this so much. I've wanted to do this for my sewing machine and knitting machine for so long but getting the shapes right just feels so daunting.
Well done working through that challenge, and thanks for the audio tour too! It's been years since I've had my studio set up, and I miss it...

Thanks!
Great upgrade, David. Really digging the blend of your newer and older video styles.
Been missing the references.
Like the wall! Haven't noticed you changed it until just now.
Plastic To Fantastic.
Nice Video Like Always. I Think The Wood Makes The Keyboard More Aesthetically pleasing compered to the old plastics.
as a music producer/audio engineer and a maker, this was awesome!......wish this was a genre hahaha
I like the white brick backdrop switch up 😀👍
That is totally brilliant! I’m inspired to make an upright piano case for an old 88 key midi controller now! Thank you!!
That would be amazing!!
Love the new wall paper!!!...very Pink Floyd of you!!!...looking forward to your new desk build...I need to redo my workspace and can’t wait to see what I can steal from your “make something” mindset!!!
I was just thinking of this idea with a Yamaha keyboard to make it look the part! This will certainly help, thanks David!
All machine and wood sounds were on beat🙌
Love how you put your name on it. This was a fun project to watch. Very cool, David.
Great video David!! I love seeing the excitement in you when you are able to combine your lives of woodworking and music!!
This is probably my favorite of your videos. I love the project but also your excitement. It's inspiring, honestly. I think I finally have an idea for my next project!
Thank you!! Have fun with that project!
Sweet build!! I'd love to see more projects like that and also more of the problem solving bits. Good luck on the album.
That Rikon seems to cut like butter. Sweet shop David!
I watched this on my TV and had to come back and watch it on my phone so I could hit that thumbs up. Great video David.
This get an 11/10............................ totally fantastic
Dude! Awesome video, even more awesome work of art as a result! Not only that but that work of art can make yet more art!!! Art-tastic!!!!!!
One of your best videos. I love to see the problem solving.
Thanks Kevin!
David, when you first started this I said "no effin way". But you hung with it and powered through to success. You should be very proud. Well done.
Bill and ted are easily my favourite people
cool idea. also I really liked the synth song around the 6-7 min part of the video. I was hoping you wrote it while watching and was happy to hear you mention at the end of your video that all the music was yours!
Very inspiring project. Did you consider using a flush trim bit for a "hard copy" of the plastic parts rather than the reconstruction in software?
That was seriously cool! New shell looks great. Off to find the Korg mod video now.
Check out SendCutSend.
@@MakeSomething ok thanks
Nice channel actually
French Cleat Synth Rack?
Really like these ReMake Something projects; and seeing all these tools used that I don't have access to myself is fun.
Ohhh boy! I need to take "ReMake Something" and run with it!
Make Something As Ramsien’s agent, we’re going to need to negotiate some terms. 🤑
Oh man that looks sick, love that retro aesthetic although all that I would do is replace those knobs with some looking vintage knobs.
totally love that you have no clue what you're doing with that soldering iron, but you do it anyway! best way to learn. keep it up dude.
I love the music you have been making for the videos.
Right on, thanks!
nice. i like it when electronics are re wrapped in a custom wood case..
"Frustrating and fun... without a plan" you say...
I agree... it is frustrating and fun to Watch too, but I LIKE IT !
Perfectly well done !
Man... That's SO 70's !!! But aaaawwwwssssoooommmmmme
Old school Dave, just havin some fun.
Serious case of tool envy here... ;) Nice build!
Great Video! Love the little movie references.
I love these videos... Turns out cheap plastic junk looks quite nice with re-made wooden cases!
Much better looking, good work bud! 🤓👍
Really nice upcycled project
Wow! great job, congratulations, its seem much better now, greetings from Spain.
Laurens Hammond would be proud ;) Great project!
Sweet moves! Looks great.
Really love the new look to the wall.
I love the effect you put on when you play the keyboard jajaja. Greetings from Mexico.
I agree. It is EXCELLENT!!!!
This video is great! Particularly enjoyed the music too
Dude, that looks so much cooler. Almost like an integrated piece of furniture.
David, I really like these upcycle videos! After seeing this though Im interested in the different music set ups you have. I know your mostly a woodworker but the name "make something I think leaves it open ended which gives you the ability to "make anything!" Just a thought. Great build!
This is awesome! We wanna do something similar with an arcade control panel we have
Thanks! That would be cool!
Dash kit for a keyboard! Looks a lot better and still works!
love love love this. Fun fact: I think I first learned about your channel when I found your wood end pieces for the MS-20 mini (I also have one along with an Arturia MiniBrute SE). Looks Fantastic!!! Love it in wood!!!
That is so cool, i really want to try that. It looks amazing
Such an awesome, awesome job! For someone who has never opened it before and /or done some of the extra things you had to do it is a masterpiece my friend!
This project is obviously super cool, but the edit is next level on this video. Great job
Made my first visit to KenCraft this week - super friendly and helpful!
Hey David I thought of a quick project that you could batch out like crazy and it's very simple and cheap to make. You should make wooden train whistles for a future project and video.
Excellent video! Very well done sir! Also, thanks for talking about your difficulties. #KeepingItReal
Best video in a long time. I had fun.
Beautiful!
Awesome video. I was entertained by your struggles! When you feel like doing another video like this i'd love to see you do a retro video game system like a Super Nintendo or a PSONE slim. Thanks Dave!
Thanks Jeff! We have a NES and Super Nintendo I want to do this to!
So cool dude, think I might have to steal this idea.
Looks great! Turning plastic into wood, one controller at a time...
Good stuff Picciuto! Congrats on the 400k, Go Browns!
Really interesting project. Thank you. Perhaps one day you can replace the keys with wood?
Plans? We don't need no stinkin plans. Nice work David!
Nice project. This gave me an idea on how to solve a problem in an upcoming commission.
Aw yiss! Love me some synth music!
#respect ... I love this kind of creative custom work. So 😎
Beautiful work, very inspiring! I want to do a version of this with an Alesis Q25 & Behringer Model D.
Great video brother. Looking forward to the desk build!
Congrats on 400k
Dear quiet, off camera David, I really love your energy in this video. This project was cool as h*ck too. Peace ✌️
