Yes! It was the one thing that divided the series from other titles. I hope they touch more on the dark side of things in future games. This is what makes Sonic games great! Yes keep the child like games for younger audience but the main games should focus on that dark edge
This just shows how you present something changes how it seems. Some people talk about it like That’s so silly cartoon animals with dark themes it’s stupid and cringe but this makes it seem really dark in a good way

Plus, even though, Sonic and friends, in their artstyle, have an anime-like side, in their look, their style and expressions, they really sound coming from anime with stylized designs, and that's not bad! That's way more interesting and original to have characters with a fun and pretty aesthetic in a mature, complex and extraordinary universe! It's a pleasure for the eyes and for the story! Plus, it makes even more touching the moments where those characters suffer, you wouldn't like to see such adorable and special characters suffering!
The biggest parts where sonic's narrative crossed over was the whole Robotnic going insane and wanting to wipe out the planet then Maria's murder. That took it from a goofy mario's kids game to "T for TEEN" territory! Shadow the Hedgehog was a fun game with the edge and functional lol

Sonic X Dark Sonic form seeing a laid back character like Sonic getting angry is terrifying. Mephiles killing Sonic seeing how he's the only villain in the series to kill Sonic is creepy. Tails Doll what even is thet thing? What is it's goals? What are it's motives? It losing animation just having it lay on the ground like it's dead. Honorable mentions are you he ghosts in Adventure 2 and the possessed Amy from Sonic X.

I am honestly trying to figure out can we predict Silver outcome in the future holds while helping Sonic since he claims that he can’t help because of being in a way. It is rather tragic, but he is an underrated protagonist/Antagonist in the Sonic scene.
I really hate that 98% of the time they make the bottom eye lids come up to portray a serious or intense or grotesque moment. It just looks goofy and makes me think of Family Guy.

You missed the litteral Darkest moment not only in Sonic but in any type of media: "the End" secret fight on hard mode in Sonic Frontiers. Realizing that you are fighting God after That terrifying speech. The Japanese version is a bit more terrifying.

Because it's just a philosophical speech on the life hard to understand and isn't consistent with its current actions, since in the end, The End seems to understand there's a sense to the life. Honestly when I first read (or I guess watched the dubs) of the Metal Virus saga, it.. was.. devastating. Probably one of the few times where I felt genuine horror for the characters of a comic page
The part where instead of being happy and friendly with each other, they turned if you had the sickness. Also when that one monkey character had it and they didn’t want to be alone, it was such a tense moment! Reading it kept me on my toes while I couldn’t believe it was sonic material!

you know these are kind of small, but still worth mentioning the Sonic 2 ending where tails literally dies if you don’t get all the chaos emeralds and supersonic from sonic the comic you see this was a time before people knew what supersonic was supposed to be so the writers for the comic assumed that it was an evil version of sonic similar to bizarro and Superman so they just made it so that whenever sonic became super, he just went bat shit insane and tries to kill his own friends and sure you can make the argument that dark sonic was also like that, but he was just kind of mad even then it was hardly a super form and more of a power up because the fake emeralds only channel negative energy and to go super is transcend chaos control with chaos being negative energy and control being positive energy and since they’re complete opposites, chaos is not control and control is not chaos. Dark sonic cannot harness positive energy(and for the record, it’s not called Fleetway sonic Fleetway is the company that distributed the comics not the name of the comic which is called sonic the comic that would be like if I called IDW sonic Ian Flynn sonic so a more accurate name would be STC sonic)

If you guys never read the idw comics the metal virus is actually the most darkest story here and in the story sonic doesn’t sleep for the whole saga since if he did the virus would spread more on him so he runs for it to fade but there would always be a tiny piece left that he can’t get rid of until he finds a cure

I'm thinking of making a video about Darkspine as it's a special one but to put it simply. Darkspine Sonic is not dark just because of his form, but rather because of the world rings. You see Sonic gained only the negative parts of the world rings, rage, hatred and sadness. This explains why he is more violent and aggressive. When transforming, Sonic was shown to be in pain, even screaming in agony. These were the harsh side effects of the transformation. And the cause of his "incomplete form" Which is also said about alf layla wa-layla which is a blobbed monster thats incomplete. Dark sonic is pretty simple as it shows the brink of Sonics personality once he snaps. Both Chris and Cosmo were beaten and tortured. Sonic couldn't handle his friends like this so he snapped into an unconscious and out of control state. Had he kept like this, it's unknowing what he would do.
